He said: 'They united an entire nation in Cardiff that spanned generations and gave the crowd something that is almost too incredible to put into words. "Liam, Noel and the band had the entire stadium rocking.' Best Oasis gig the story! By Dominic Mohan, Former Editor of The Sun KENTISH Town 1994. Earl's Court 1995. Maine Road and Knebworth 1996. Now add Cardiff Principality Stadium 2025 to that glimmering list. Friday night's unveiling of the unforeseen Live '25 tour is right up there in the pantheon of classic Oasis shows I've been privileged to witness over the past 31 years. This is the best I've seen Oasis since 1997. I know it's a big call, but I'm making it. Let's analyse why. There is no new material to promote so this was a brazen playlist of Oasis anthems. One of the biggest worries ahead of these shows was Liam's voice. Fear not. His vocals sounded more honed than they have for many years. The outfits are the same and the swagger is still there but his engagement with the audience more courteous and respectful. Outside, it felt like the build-up to a World Cup knockout game. Lager-swilling once-lads dominated proceedings but there were also starry-eyed young men and women seduced by a Gallagher onslaught for the first time. Witnessing the feuding brothers then stepping on to the sweeping stage is something that will live long in the memory, the Cardiff roar heralding the burying of the hatchet. What a moment — and one I felt I had to witness after documenting the highs and lows of Oasis for The Sun, over 30 years. It felt like this was a climax to 16 years of soul-searching since the brothers split. And the climax of Don't Look Back In Anger, Wonderwall, and Champagne Supernova is one of the greatest closing trilogies in modern music. We were left spellbound after witnessing the biggest British rock reunion of all time, likely never to be eclipsed. That's the story.

Oasis fans burst into song on train to concert ahead of first show of tour

Oasis announced months ago that they would finally be getting back together for a come-back tour and it's due to start this week Oasis fans have been seen bursting into song on the train to a concert for the band's comeback tour, which kicks off this weekend. Fans of the band have been anticipating this weekend as it marks their reunion. Some concert-goers have been spotted on social media getting ready for the special event by warming up their own vocal chords. A video has since gone viral online which sees a whole host of fans singing Don't Look Back In Anger as they head to the concert themselves. ‌ Liam and Noel Gallagher will be taking to the stage tonight in their first show which will be in Cardiff. The brothers have put their differences aside much to the delight of their fans. ‌ It has been reported that fans began to queue to go into the stadium last night, with the earliest people there getting their tickets upgraded to VIP status. The band split back in August 2009 but shared a video to promote the comeback last year when Liam was heard saying: "When we both come together, you have greatness." Noel then says: "I know my brother better than anybody else. This is it, this is happening." Once inside the stadium, support act Cast will play first at 6pm following by Richard Ashcroft at 7pm and Oasis taking to the stage at 8.15pm. Released on October 3 on Big Brother Recordings, (What's The Story) Morning Glory? (30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition) is available for pre-order on limited edition 2CD and 3LP formats as well as digital formats. This special anniversary format follows last summer's release of the 30th Anniversary Edition of Definitely Maybe which reached number 1 in the Official UK Album Chart for the second time in that album's history. ‌ Get Oasis updates straight to your WhatsApp! However, there has been one last minute change when it comes to the tour. A member of the band named in the tour programme no longer heading out on the road. The Mirror revealed yesterday how the main Oasis line up was as expected with Liam Gallagher as the frontman and Noel Gallagher on guitar alongside close pals and regulars Paul 'Bonehead' Arthurs, Gem Archer and Andy Bell. ‌ The new drummer is Joey Waronker, who performed with Liam Gallagher and John Squire last year on a tour. The tour programme shows there is also a list of additional musicians playing with the band and they are; Christian Madden on keyboards, Jess Greenfield on backing vocals, Alastair White on trombone, Steve Hamilton on saxophone and Joe Auckland will be playing the trumpet. Jess would've been a rare female member of the group but it's been said she will no longer be on stage. A source close to the band said she was only listed in the earlier drafts of the programme and will not be going on tour anymore. "The band are not using backing singers anymore. Noel has worked loads with Jess in the past but after final rehearsals were done and the set list was drawn up it made more sense for Noel to do the backing vocals for Liam on the songs. "It's a shame for Jess but it's likely there will be other opportunities for her with Noel in the future. They just didn't need her in the end," the source said. The deluxe album — which will come in a variety of vinyl formats — will feature new artwork shot by original sleeve designer Brian Cannon as well as new sleeve notes; all formats will also include the 2014 remastered version of the album alongside the new bonus unplugged tracks. What's the Story was released in Oct. 1995, 14 months after the band's debut album and has sold 22 million copies to date, including more than 5.5 million in the U.S., according to a release, which notes that it stands as the U.K.'s third best-selling album of all time. In the wind-up to the reunion tour some fans never thought would happen Oasis recently announced a series of pop-up stories for fans to purchase merch for the tour that kicks off on Friday with the first of two gigs at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales. The first in a series of Oasis Live '25 Fan Stores launched nationwide last month in the U.K. and Ireland — in Manchester and Cardiff, with shops in London and Birmingham opening on July 8, followed by Edinburgh and Dublin on Aug. 4 — giving fans the chance to purchase merchandise ahead of the shows. Following the run of shows in Cardiff, Manchester, London, Edinburgh and Dublin, the band will jump the North America in late August for gigs in Toronto, Chicago, New Jersey and Los Angeles before moving on to Mexico City, South Korea, Japan, Australia and South America. Oasis announce new album release ahead of live tour kicking off in Cardiff

Fans of Morning Glory are in for a treat with new versions of five songs as part of the anniversary edition Oasis are bringing out deluxe new formats of iconic album (What's The Story) Morning Glory? - with unplugged versions of five iconic tracks. The move is to celebrate the era-defining album's landmark 30-year anniversary, one of the reasons it is thought the Gallaghers have also decided to tour with Oasis this year ‌ The new version of their second LP will feature new unplugged versions of five classic recordings Cast No Shadow, Morning Glory, Wonderwall, Acquiesce and Champagne Supernova. ‌ Released on October 3 on Big Brother Recordings, (What's The Story) Morning Glory? (30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition) is available for pre-order on limited edition 2CD and 3LP formats as well as digital formats. This special anniversary format follows last summer's release of the 30th Anniversary Edition of Definitely Maybe which reached number 1 in the Official UK Album Chart for the second time in that album's history. The new unplugged versions were produced and mixed by Noel Gallagher and Callum Marinho from the original master recordings at Noel's studio, Lone Star Sound, in London. The new interpretation of 'Acquiesce' is revealed today(WEDS) and can be heard online. The deluxe album features new artwork shot by original sleeve designer Brian Cannon and new sleeve notes. Exclusive coloured vinyl formats will also be available. (What's The Story) Morning Glory? stands out as one of the all-time era-defining great rock albums. Oasis' second album, it was first released on 2nd October 1995 on Creation Records and propelled the band to worldwide success. ‌ It has now sold in excess of a staggering 22 million copies globally, including over 5.5 million in the United States, and is the UK's 3rd biggest selling studio album of all time. Noel and Liam have now reunited and will sing many songs from the second LP in the live tour. ‌ The reunion was so top secret that up until the final days only eight people knew it was happening. Those who did know are thought to have to signed NDA contracts forbidding them from telling anyone, Brian Cannon, who created the album cover for Oasis' debut album Definitely Maybe and other artwork for them, was not one of those in the know initially. But he said: I didn't know it was happening, despite what everybody thought. I was just as surprised as anybody else. ‌ "Because I obviously packaged Definitely Maybe again last year, and I was with Noel in his studio, and the question obviously arose about the reunion, and his response was, 'I'm f***ing sick of it!' It was his exact words.' But something clearly changed his mind and Brian added: 'Noel told me that only right up to the end, only eight people knew about it. 'Not even his daughter. I mean, he said to me, Anais... Anais rang him. She was at that, was it the Blossoms game? ‌ "And she says to him, 'Dad, Dad, what's this announcement?' And he said to her, 'Are you sitting down?' And she went, 'Yeah!' "He goes, 'Me and your Mam are getting back together!' So, even she didn't know about it. So, it took me by surprise." Noel was obviously joking about getting back with his ex-wife Meg Matthews, but it shows the level of secrecy. According to some reports Anais was integral to Noel speaking to his brother Liam again but if this is the case she was not across the tour. ‌ Band members like Gem Archer and Andy Bell also found out later. Although Liam's partner and manager Debbie Gwyther will have been one of the eight people and is another key player in the reunion tour which starts on Friday in Cardiff. Speaking on the Oasis podcast, Brian added: "There's been nothing like it ever in the history of rock and roll. The closest you could have imagined it would have been The Beatles, but The Beatles never got back together so there is no comparison. "Stone Roses obviously was a big deal, but they're not... I mean, I'm a massive Roses fan obviously, but it's not the phenomenon that Oasis were, or are, so it's truly unprecedented. I mean, that word gets banded about an awful lot, but this is unprecedented.'
