David Beckham recovering at home after wrist operation
David Beckham is at home and recovering after his recent hospitalisation. The 50-year-old football star recently underwent surgery to repair a broken wrist he suffered more than 20 years ago while playing a friendly for England against South Africa. He was forced to have surgery this week after an X-ray showed a screw that was used to patch up the problem at the time had embedded in his forearm after it did not dissolve properly. However, Beckham is recovering well and has been gardening with his wife Victoria. She shared a video of him checking out the cucumber haul from their garden and wrote: "Overperforming on the cucumber front Sir David." In the video, Beckham is casually dressed, with his injured arm wrapped up and encased in a sling. A source previously told The Sun newspaper of Beckham's injury: "David has been in pain for years but thought nothing of it. "He just kept going until, in recent months, it became quite unbearable. "A routine scan showed that the pin which was meant to have dissolved, hadn't - so he was booked in to finally resolve the issue all these years later. "Victoria was at his bedside post op and all went well. He's in great spirits." Beckham was knighted in King Charles' Birthday Honours earlier in June for his services to sport and charity, and declared himself as "incredibly humbled" by the accolade. Beckham - who has children Brooklyn, 26, Romeo, 22, Cruz, 20, and 13-year-old Harper Seven with Victoria - said: "Growing up in East London with parents and grandparents who were so patriotic and proud to be British, I never could have imagined I would receive such a truly humbling honour. "To have played for and captained my country was the greatest privilege of my career, and literally a boyhood dream come true." David Beckham hospitalised as wife Victoria shares post-surgery recovery pic: ‘Get well soon daddy'
Former English footballer David Beckham is on the mend after undergoing surgery to correct a long-standing wrist injury—just weeks after being named in King Charles III's Birthday Honours list. The 50-year-old, now officially set to be knighted for his services to football and charity, was photographed in a hospital gown with his arm in a sling on Friday. Victoria Beckham shared David Beckham's photo after his surgery The image, shared by his wife Victoria Beckham on her Instagram Stories, showed the Inter Miami CF co-owner smiling from a hospital bed despite the fresh surgery. 'Get well soon daddy,' she wrote alongside a heart emoji. David Beckham suffered an injury during a friendly match against South Africa in 2003 According to report in People magazine, David's procedure was to finally address complications from a 2003 match injury, when he broke his wrist playing for England against South Africa. A dissolvable screw inserted during earlier treatment reportedly failed to dissolve properly over time, causing discomfort that worsened in recent months. Victoria later shared another photo, this time of David at home, holding a handmade beaded bracelet reading 'Get well soon'—a likely gift from one of their four children, adding a sweet family touch to the recovery. This brief hospital stay comes during an otherwise celebratory chapter in David's life. Earlier this month, it was officially announced that he would receive a knighthood, with the football icon set to become Sir David Beckham. The honour, long speculated, was met with overwhelming joy by David and his family. He reportedly took his mother Sandra out for lunch after the announcement, where she got emotional over the recognition. On the professional front, David continues to juggle his business empire, including the soaring popularity of his Major League Soccer club, Inter Miami. The team—boosted by the global spotlight surrounding Lionel Messi—is preparing for its new $1 billion stadium, Miami Freedom Park, expected to open in time for the 2026 FIFA World Cup. Despite whispers of past family tensions—especially involving their son Brooklyn and daughter-in-law Nicola Peltz—the Beckhams appear united, with recent Father's Day posts including heartfelt tributes from all of their children.

What Is Anna Wintour's Net Worth?
It's the end of an era as Anna Wintour quit her role as editor-in-chief of American Vogue after 37 years. The British-born journalist, who's become one of the most powerful women in publishing and a major player in the fashion world, announced her decision to step down from helming the fashion bible, a position she has held since 1988. The former editorial assistant, 77 – who was appointed a Dame by the late Queen Elizabeth II in 2017 for her contribution to fashion and journalism, and was honoured as Companion of Honour for her services to fashion by King Charles in his 2023 Birthday Honours – is the longest serving editor-in-chief of the magazine. She told staff that she will step aside from running the magazine day-to-day, but will remain in charge of Vogue globally and as chief content officer of Conde Nast media company. Her decision came after she told King Charles that she has no plans to retire, as she received her latest accolade. 'It makes me even more convinced that I have so much more to achieve,' she said. 'The last time I was here the Queen gave me a medal and we both agreed that we had been doing our job a very long time, and then this morning His Majesty asked me if this meant I was going to stop working and I said firmly, no.' Anna Wintour ©John Nacion/Variety via Getty Images 'Now, I find that my greatest pleasure is helping the next generation of impassioned editors storm the field with their own ideas, supported by a new, exciting view of what a major media company can be. And that is exactly the kind of person we need to now look for to be Head of Editorial Content for US Vogue,' she said. Meanwhile, Anna – who's thought to have been the inspiration behind The Devil Wears Prada character Miranda Priestly – will continue 'paying close attention to the fashion industry and the creative cultural force that is our extraordinary Met Gala', adding, 'And it goes without saying that I plan to remain Vogue's tennis and theatre editor in perpetuity.' Anna is one of the most influential power players in the fashion industry, often gracing the front row of Fashion Weeks and helped launch the careers of designers such as Marc Jacobs, Alexander McQueen and John Galliano. As well as being editor-in-chief of US Vogue, a position which she held for 37 years, she's also the main organiser and co-chair of the Costume Institute of the Metropolitan Museum of Art's annual Met Gala, a staple in New York society and celebrity calendars. Anna Wintour ©Robin Platzer/FilmMagic Anna Wintour has an estimated net worth of $50 million, as of 2025, according to Celebrity Net Worth. Reports indicate that Anna was paid $4 million annual salary for her job as US Vogue's editor-in-chief, doubled from her $2 million pay in 2005. In addition to being in charge of the fashion magazine, she is Conde Nast's Global Chief Content Officer and works across the company's other publications including The New Yorker, Conde Nast Traveller, GQ, Glamour, Architectural Digest and Vanity Fair amongst others. It takes money to maintain Anna's sleek bob and those designer sunglasses – her 'uniform'. Luckily for her, it's one of her work perks, with Conde Nast picking up the bill for Anna's hair and make-up 'every day of the week'. She also reportedly gets a $200,000 annual allowance for her 'workwear' clothes, although we'd expect that she gets a fair few freebies thrown her way, given her status in the fashion industry. David Beckham's surprise op after 'years in pain' from England injury in 2003
David Beckham was left in 'unbearable' pain in recent times due to an injury he suffered on England international duty in 2003 when he was forced off the pitch against South Africa David Beckham has undergone surgery to fix an issue that first arose more than 20 years ago on England duty. The ex-Three Lions captain, who is set to be awarded a knighthood in King Charles ' Birthday Honours, has received an operation to treat a broken wrist after being 'in pain for years'. The 50-year-old first suffered the issue while playing against South Africa in a friendly in 2003 before attempting to play on. But Beckham required a hospital trip following the game after falling awkwardly under a challenge from Thabang Molefe. The midfielder produced an assist for ex-England boss Gareth Southgate in the game but he was replaced by Jermaine Jenas just four minutes into the second period. Beckham was brought off after he was seen struggling with the knock. And now, Beckham was required to go under the knife after a a recent x-ray showed a screw had embedded in his forearm. The implement was used to patch up his initial issue but failed to dissolve properly. Reports claim that the ex-Real Madrid and Manchester United megastar had been in pain for a number of years but in recent months it became 'unbearable'. The operation is said to have went well, with wife Victoria at his bedside following the procedure. Victoria, 51, posted a touching message to Instagram as she posted a photograph of Beckham post-op, with the words "get well soon daddy". The former footballer smiled with his eyes shut and his arm in a prominent blue sling as he lay in a hospital bed. A second photograph posted to the Spice Girl's Instagram story showed her husband's wrist displaying a sweet bracelet which read: "Get well soon". A routine scan is claimed to have highlighted the pin remaining in his arm. As a result he was booked in to fix the situation. Beckham acknowledged that he has been forced to deal with the ailments that come from a career in football. But suggested he was feeling at his best in a long time in February. "Do you know what, my body's actually feeling better than it has done for a long time," he told Men's Health. "People ask where I feel it the most – is it my knees or my ankles? "My achilles was a bad injury towards the end of my playing career but it never troubles me now, despite rupturing it. "It's actually my back and left hip that give me the most grief. I've had it X-rayed, MRI'd – it's just wear and tear." Join our new WhatsApp community and receive your daily dose of Mirror Football content.
