Four-star Clemson football 2026 target Blake Stewart announces official commitment

The Clemson Tigers picked up another big win on the recruiting trail in the class of 2026 Sunday when four-star safety Blake Stewart announced his commitment to head coach Dabo Swinney's program. Stewart, listed as 6-foot-1, 175 pounds, out of Woodward Academy in Georgia, announced his commitment in a livestream video. He chose the Tigers over the Miami Hurricanes, the Michigan Wolverines and Vanderbilt Commodores. Stewart is a four-star prospect in 247Sports' Composite Recruiting Rankings, the No. 24 overall safety in the class of 2026. On3's Industry Rankings lists him as the No. 26 overall safety. With Stewart's announcement, Clemson now has three safeties in its 2026 recruiting class and 21 hard commitments overall. Stewart follows a string of elite talent to commit to the Tigers since the month of June. He's the most recent Clemson commitment after four-star defensive lineman Keshawn Stancil (Clayton, North Carolina), ranked the No. 15 player at his position in the 2026 class by On3, committed on June 28. Clemson also added four-star EDGE Dre Quinn and two four-star offensive linemen in Leo Delaney and Carter Scruggs. Both rank as top 10 interior lineman by 247Sports and On3. Three-star EDGE JR Hardrick committed to Clemson in early June. Clemson's 2026 recruiting class is currently ranked 10th nationally by Rivals/On3 and 11th by 247Sports. Clemson football 2026 recruiting class commitments As of Stewart's announcement, Clemson has 21 hard commitments in its 2026 class. Four-star safety Tylan Wilson names Clemson in his final three schools

Clemson football's 2026 recruiting class is closing in on some key decisions in the secondary, with two of their top uncommitted safety targets set to announce where they'll play college football later this month. Four-star Tylan Wilson trimmed his list to three schools on Wednesday, putting Clemson in the mix alongside Texas A&M and Arkansas. The Georgia native has been on Clemson's radar since he picked up an offer in January and he was on campus for the Tigers' major official visit weekend in early June — a visit that helped solidify Clemson's spot among his top choices. Wilson is scheduled to announce his decision on July 18. According to 247Sports, he's the No. 221 overall prospect and ranks No. 17 among safeties in the 2026 cycle. Advertisement The other top name left on the board is four-star Blake Stewart, who is also nearing the end of his recruitment. Stewart plans to reveal his commitment on July 13, with Clemson battling Miami and Vanderbilt for his pledge. The Tigers are believed to be in a strong position with Stewart, who Rivals ranks as the No. 149 player overall and the No. 10 safety in the country. Clemson has already secured two safeties in the current class, so there's only room for one more addition at the position. With spots limited, landing either Wilson or Stewart would close out the position group in strong fashion for safeties coach Mickey Conn and the defensive staff. The next two weeks will be crucial as the Tigers try to lock in one of their final defensive pieces for what's shaping up to be another highly ranked recruiting class. Michigan football set for a key 2026 safety prospect visit on June 20 during Victors Weekend

Michigan football set for a key 2026 safety prospect visit on June 20 during Victors Weekend The Wolverines have been steadily looking at prospects from two regions in the 2026 recruiting cycle: the D.C.-Maryland-Virginia area and the South (primarily Georgia and Florida). The thing about the latter is that it tends to produce high-level prospects, even those who aren't the highest-rated, due to the density of top-tier high school players. On June 20, Michigan football will hold its biggest recruiting weekend of the year, deemed 'Victors Weekend,' when the most-coveted recruits make their way to Ann Arbor in hopes that the maize and blue can close as many as possible. One prospect from the South is set to make his way to campus that weekend, highlighting just how much the Wolverines like his talent. Blake Stewart top four, official visits According to On3, 2026 Atlanta (Ga.) Woodward Academy safety Blake Stewart has set four official visits, including Michigan football on June 20. but will also see Clemson on May 30, Vanderbilt on June 6, and Miami on June 13. Stewart is listed highest on Rivals, which has him as a four-star at No. 148 overall. ESPN also has him listed as a four-star as do the two composite rankings from 247Sports and On3. However, both of the latter in their proprietary rankings, list Stewart as a three-star. LaMar Morgan is the primary recruiter for the 6-foot, 175-pound safety. The Wolverines had a solid haul last cycle bringing in three four-stars at the position in Kainoa Winston, Elijah Dotson, and Jordan Young.
