Twenty One Pilots Fans Push The Band's Breakout Album Back To The Charts
Twenty One Pilots' Blurryface returns to six Billboard charts amid its tenth anniversary, reentering ... More the top 10 on Vinyl Albums and Top Alternative Albums lists. LOS ANGELES, CA - FEBRUARY 12: Musicians Josh Dun (L) and Tyler Joseph of Twenty One Pilots attend The 59th GRAMMY Awards at STAPLES Center on February 12, 2017 in Los Angeles, California. (Photo by) A decade ago, Twenty One Pilots evolved from alternative rock favorites into global pop stars thanks to the album Blurryface. The set produced massive hits like 'Stressed Out,' 'Ride,' and 'Heavydirtysoul,' and it turned the duo into household figures. 10 years later, Twenty One Pilots continue to create new music – in fact, a new full-length titled Breach is expected in just a few weeks. Before fans get their hands on the upcoming release, a reissued edition of Blurryface finds its way back to several Billboard charts. Blurryface Lands on Half a Dozen Billboard Charts Blurryface currently appears on six Billboard rankings in the United States, reentering all but one of them. The project jumps back into the top 10 on both the Vinyl Albums and Top Alternative Albums charts, reappearing at No. 7 on each. It also comes close to the highest tier on the Top Album Sales and Top Rock Albums rankings, returning at Nos. 13 and 12, respectively. On the Billboard 200, Blurryface lands at No. 64. The title is now just one frame shy of hitting 350 total weeks on the most competitive albums tally in America. Blurryface Climbs on the Rock and Alternative List Blurryface doesn't need to return to the Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart, as it was already present on that list the prior week. Just days ago, the effort sat in second-to-last place on the 50-spot tally, which ranks the most consumed rock and alternative collections in the country. Now, it surges back toward the loftiest tier, lifting to No. 14. An Anniversary Edition Twenty One Pilots recently issued a special tenth anniversary edition of Blurryface alongside new merchandise, including hats and shirts that honor the project. A red double LP edition is largely to thank for the album's increase in purchases and its chart resurgence. Blurryface's Sales Boost According to Luminate, Blurryface moved 14,200 equivalent units in the U.S. during the past tracking period. Nearly half of that total came from traditional sales, as the title sold just under 7,000 copies across all formats. That figure marks a huge jump from the week before the anniversary reissue shipped, when the project failed to reach even 500 purchases.

Twenty One Pilots Debuts Its Breakout Album Inside The Top 10 A Decade Late
Twenty One Pilots' Blurryface returns to the U.K. charts as its tenth anniversary reissue lands ... More inside the top 10 on vinyl and sales rankings. SEATTLE, WA - JUNE 05: Josh Dun (L) and Tyler Joseph of Twenty One Pilots pose for a photo after performing an EndSession hosted by 107.7 The End on June 5, 2015 in Seattle, Washington. (Photo by) Blurryface is the album that helped Twenty One Pilots become global superstars when it was released more than a decade ago. Before then, the duo had cultivated a fan base in the alternative space, but with songs like "Stressed Out" and "Ride," the pair successfully crossed into the pop arena, and the rockers haven't looked back since. To celebrate Blurryface turning 10, Twenty One Pilots recently reissued the full-length on a collectible double red double LP. That limited-edition offering has turned the blockbuster effort into a bestseller once again. Blurryface Opens Inside the Top 10 The updated version of Blurryface debuts at No. 9 on the Official Vinyl Albums chart. The title previously reached the vinyl-only ranking in the summer of 2015, when the original spent just one frame at No. 12. Now, it breaks into the top 10 for the first time, as the Official Charts Company credits this edition as separate from the first. Twenty One Pilots Score a Fourth Top 10 Bestseller Twenty One Pilots earn a fourth top 10 win on the Official Vinyl Albums chart thanks to the new release of Blurryface. Both Trench and Clancy spent one turn at No. 1, while Scaled and Icy reached No. 5 in December 2021. Blurryface Reappears on Multiple Tallies This second take on Blurryface also finds its way back to both the Official Physical Albums and Official Albums Sales rankings — and in both instances, it's a top 20 success. Twenty One Pilots return to the list of the top-selling titles on any physical medium at No. 12, buoyed largely by the vinyl reissue, and the rockers appear at No. 18 on the general sales roster. 'Doubt' Debuts Inside the Top 10 "Doubt," a fan-favorite track from Blurryface, also manages to debut several years after its release. The tune — which was never selected as a single, though Twenty One Pilots released the demo version earlier this year to commemorate the album's anniversary — opens inside the top 10 on multiple rosters, starting at No. 2 on the Official Vinyl Singles chart, No. 3 on the Official Physical Singles tally, and No. 9 on the Official Singles Sales ranking.

Twenty One Pilots Return With The Band's Decade-Old Album
Twenty One Pilots' Blurryface reenters the Billboard 200 and Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart as ... More excitement builds for the band's new album Breach. INGLEWOOD, CALIFORNIA - JANUARY 15: (FOR EDITORIAL USE ONLY) (L-R) Josh Dun and Tyler Joseph of Twenty One Pilots attend the 2022 iHeartRadio ALTer EGO presented by Capital One at The Forum on January 15, 2022 in Inglewood, California. (Photo byfor iHeartRadio) In September, Twenty One Pilots will release a new album titled Breach. The duo has already started promoting the forthcoming collection with the lead single, "The Contract," which arrived a short time ago. That track debuted on a handful of Billboard rankings last week and has now arrived on several others. This time around, all the excitement surrounding a new era beginning has inspired Twenty One Pilots' fans to return to the group's back catalog. All their collective buying and, especially, streaming activity has turned the band's breakout album into a hit again. Blurryface Returns to Two Charts Blurryface, the project that helped Twenty One Pilots become a household name in America, returns to a pair of Billboard tallies this frame. Reappearing in the lowest reaches of two lists, Blurryface lands at No. 49 on the 50-spot Top Rock & Alternative Albums chart. At the same time, it reenters the Billboard 200 at No. 195, with a little more than 8,600 equivalent units shifted (per Luminate). Blurryface Has Already Reached No. 1 Blurryface has spent more than 300 weeks on both of those rankings. It also previously reached No. 1 on both of them. Just last month, Blurryface turned 10 years old, as it was released in May 2015. Longtime fans of the group have been honoring the title ever since, and this week, the circumstances were right for the effort to return. "The Contract" Debuts and Rises As Blurryface reappears, "The Contract" debuts on four charts. It opens on both the Billboard Global 200 and Billboard Global Excl. U.S., as well as the Hot Alternative Songs and Hot Rock Songs tallies. On the latter, Twenty One Pilots narrowly miss securing another top 10 hit by just a few spaces. In the coming weeks, "The Contract" could easily climb several positions and crack the uppermost region on the pair of rosters. At the same time that "The Contract" debuts on some rankings, it also ascends to new high points on several others where it got an early start last week. The single rises from No. 40 to No. 16 on the Alternative Airplay list. It manages a similar showing on the Rock & Alternative Airplay tally, jumping from No. 38 to No. 18.

Twenty One Pilots to Wrap Long-Running Narratives on New Album, ‘Breach'
Almost one year to the day since the release of their most recent record, Clancy, Ohio duo Twenty One Pilots have announced the release of their forthcoming seventh album, Breach. Sharing news of their new record on social media on Wednesday (May 21), Twenty One Pilots have announced that the album will arrive on an unspecified date in September, with first single 'The Contract' to be released on June 12. More from Billboard Aaron Paul Opens Up About Tracking Down Tour Managers to Get Bands to Perform in His Living Room Ye Claims He's 'Done With Antisemitism': 'Forgive Me for the Pain I've Caused' How New York's UBS Arena Is Helping to Raise the Commercial Ceiling for Caribbean-Headlined Shows The album's announcement was also paired with the news that it appears to thematically continue the narrative arcs which the band have focused on across the past decade. 'Hello Clancy. Hello Blurryface,' they wrote on social media. 'Let's finish this.' Referencing the titular characters of their 2024 and 2015 LPs Clancy and Blurryface, respectively, the record will ostensibly wrap up the narratives that have also continued across records such as 2018's Trench and 2021's Scaled and Icy. Composed of Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun, Twenty One Pilots first formed in 2009 and released a pair of independent records before 2013's Vessel served as their major label debut and commercial breakthrough, ultimately peaking at No. 21 on the Billboard 200. The group received their first No. 1 with 2015's Blurryface, with their following records all reaching the top three. More recently, Twenty One Pilots wrapped their Clancy World Tour with a series of U.K. dates earlier this month. These shows made headliners when, in the final moments of their gig at Manchester's AO Arena on May 11, a concertgoer was seen grabbing one of Dun's drums and casually walking away with it. 'I really don't think you should take that,' one fan can be heard saying in a widely shared video of the alleged theft, as another adds, 'Have I just witnessed a crime. Has she actually just stolen that drum? That's crazy.' Though the unnamed fan initially appeared to get away with the souvenir unhindered, dedicated fans went into full investigative mode to attempt to track them down. The hours-long search appeared to pay off when Twenty One Pilots' behind-the-scenes tour videographer Sax posted on Instagram on May 12 that the one-of-a-kind drum had been returned. Twenty One Pilots Drop New Single, ‘The Contract,' Detail North American Tour Dates
Just weeks after teasing their latest era, Twenty One Pilots have shared both the lead single from their forthcoming album and a run of North American tour dates. Dubbed 'The Contract,' the single is the Ohio group's first piece of new music since the release of their seventh album, Clancy, in May 2024. The track is so far the only taster of their upcoming record, Breach, which is scheduled for release in September. More from Billboard Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce Head to Florida for Stanley Cup Final j-hope Heads to Memphis to Recruit GloRilla for 'Killin' It Girl' Single: Listen Billie Joe Armstrong Shares Unearthed 'I Get Around' Cover in Tribute to Brian Wilson Breach was teased by the band in a social media post in May, indicating that the album's content would thematically continue the narrative arcs which the band have focused on across the past decade. Though the specific release date of Breach is yet to be announced, the record's arrival will be paired with a run of North American shows, which launch in Cincinnati in September and will keep the pair on the road until late October. Much like their latest global trek in support of Clancy, the naming of their upcoming run as The Clancy Tour: Breach seemingly confirms a sense of continuation from their last studio effort, with further specifics expected to arrive in the coming months.
