Patrick Mahomes' Trainer Takes Shot At Legendary NFL Quarterback

Patrick Mahomes' Trainer Takes Shot At Legendary NFL Quarterback originally appeared on The Spun. Former Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger made quite a few headlines with his recent Patrick Mahomes take. Advertisement Speaking on the latest episode of his "Footbahlin" podcast, the two-time Super Bowl champ argued that he'd take Aaron Rodgers in his prime over Mahomes present day. "Well, I would take Aaron in his prime over Patrick now," Roethlisberger admitted. "I think Aaron Rodgers in his prime was one of the top few to ever do it— and so is Patrick Mahomes at his prime. Patrick Mahomes is just entering out of his prime, I think." That led to a call out from the Chiefs QB's trainer Bobby Stroupe who said on X: "Not everybody quits working out at 30 years old, Ben." The post was clearly a dig at the six-time Pro Bowler's physique towards the end of his 18-year career after beginning his career as a fairly mobile signal-caller at 6-foot-5 and close to 240 pounds. Advertisement That didn't stop him from putting up prolific passing numbers for the majority of his career though, despite taking a ton of punishment from all of the hits he took standing tall in the pocket. Big Ben wasn't the only person Stroupe had in his crosshairs either. The health and performance consultant also took time to defend Mahomes against several more of the superstar's critics on social media. Patrick Mahomes' trainer Bobby Stroupe hits back at Kevin Kietzman for criticizing Mahomes' diet and offseason training

Bobby Stroupe defends Patrick Mahomes after criticism over diet and offseason fitness (Image via: Getty Images) Patrick Mahomes faced criticism over his body and eating habits after a recent viral photo. Radio host Kevin Kietzman questioned the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback's fitness and diet during the offseason. Mahomes' trainer Bobby Stroupe responded quickly, defending the quarterback's performance and training routine, and rejecting the claims made on the 'Kevin Kietzman Has Issues' podcast. Trainer responds to Kevin Kietzman's comments about Patrick Mahomes' body and work ethic Kevin Kietzman used his podcast to claim Patrick Mahomes was 'overweight, lazy, and out of shape.' He also criticized Mahomes' alleged fast food consumption. These remarks followed a viral image from a charity golf event in April and a shirtless July 4th photo shared by Brittany Mahomes, which led to online comments about the quarterback's so-called 'dad bod.' Bobby Stroupe, Mahomes' longtime trainer of over 20 years, pushed back. He said on social media that Kietzman's criticism was attention-seeking and did not reflect Mahomes' true conditioning. 'If you want to see what in shape is, make it through a practice at Saint Jo or run a hurry-up offense scrambling back-to-back plays,' Stroupe wrote. He also addressed the idea that top-level quarterbacks need six-pack abs to perform. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like One of the Most Successful Investors of All Time, Warren Buffett, Recommends: 5 Books for Turning... His main argument was that performance, not appearance, should be the focus when evaluating athletes. Mahomes remains in top form heading into the 2025 NFL season Despite online comments and podcast opinions, Mahomes remains one of the NFL's top players. At age 28, he is a three-time Super Bowl champion, two-time MVP, and continues to lead the Kansas City Chiefs as their franchise quarterback. His agility, playmaking ability, and durability have never been in question on the field. Kevin Kietzman calls Patrick Mahomes an embarrassment—trainer claps back with savage reality check

Patrick Mahomes' 'dad bod' under fire, trainer Bobby Stroupe responds to Kevin Kietzman's attack (Image Via X) Patrick Mahomes didn't even have to speak, his trainer handled it all. After Kansas City radio host Kevin Kietzman called Mahomes 'fat' and questioned his offseason training, Bobby Stroupe stepped in with facts, fire, and zero tolerance for the nonsense. Kevin Kietzman calls Patrick Mahomes out for having a 'dad bod' and lazy habits On a recent episode of his podcast Kevin Kietzman Has Issues , Kietzman went on a pretty brutal rant. He called Patrick Mahomes "an embarrassment,' said the Super Bowl MVP is 'not in great physical shape,' and blamed his so-called "dad bod" on too much fast food and not enough discipline. He even suggested Mahomes has been slacking in the offseason and that his body doesn't reflect the work ethic expected from a franchise quarterback. Safe to say, those takes didn't go over well. Trainer Bobby Stroupe goes full savage: 'Send me your location' Mahomes' longtime personal trainer Bobby Stroupe didn't let the comments slide. He immediately clapped back on X (formerly Twitter) with a series of tweets calling Kietzman out. 'You obviously need attention,' he wrote. 'If you want to see what in-shape is, go make it through a practice at Saint Jo or run hurry-up offense scrambling back to back plays.' Then came the mic drop: 'Send me your location.' by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Our one of a kind Patented Cold Water Extraction Process Superior Ginseng Undo He also asked some real questions: When has Patrick ever looked tired during a game? When has he failed to make a long drive play? When have you actually seen him train or eat? Stroupe didn't just defend Mahomes, he completely dismantled the idea that appearance equals performance. Patrick Mahomes' so-called 'dad bod' is actually part of his secret weapon Let's get one thing straight: Mahomes is no Instagram model. And that's intentional. His trainer has previously revealed that Mahomes stays at around 14% body fat during the season. Why? To absorb hits, improve torque for throws, and avoid the injuries that more shredded players sometimes deal with. That bulk isn't laziness, it's strategy. And clearly, it's working: Mahomes has 3 Super Bowl rings, 2 MVPs, and hasn't missed a beat. Fans back Mahomes, and turn the heat on Kietzman instead NFL Twitter was quick to defend Mahomes and roast Kietzman for his outdated view of what an elite athlete should look like. 'This dude was just looking for clicks.' one fan wrote. Others pointed out that Hall of Fame QBs and pitchers rarely looked ripped, but they performed when it mattered. The consensus? You can't argue with results, and Mahomes' track record speaks louder than any offseason photo ever could. Whether you call it a dad bod or a dynasty build, Patrick Mahomes is still the most dominant QB in the game. And if a few offseason burgers come with another Lombardi Trophy? Pretty sure Chiefs Kingdom will take that deal every time. Also read - Did CJ Gardner-Johnson try to hurt Malik Nabers? Patrick Mahomes' trainer blasts Steelers legend Ben Roethlisberger over recent comments

Ben Roethlisberger is under fire from Patrick Mahomes over recent comments he made a few weeks ago. It all began when the Steelers legend set off an NFL debate firestorm on his podcast — answering the question: who's better, prime Aaron Rodgers or current Mahomes? Roethlisberger chose Rodgers, claiming the Chiefs superstar QB was exiting his prime — a comment that rubbed Mahomes' trainer, Bobby Stroupe, the wrong way. Advertisement Stroupe took to social media to defend Mahomes, whose 30th birthday is just around the corner. "Not everybody quits working out at 30 years old, Ben." Roethlisberger was hardly the model for fitness and career longevity during his 18-year run — even poking fun at the legendary Tom Brady for allegedly eating 'avocado ice cream' to stay at peak levels — but chances are, he wasn't trying to take a shot at Mahomes. It remains to be seen if Big Ben will respond to the criticism on the next episode of his Footbahlin with Ben Roethlisberger podcast, but his original comments were practically harmless — so it would come as no surprise if he simply brushed the situation under the rug. Patrick Mahomes' trainer destroys Ben Roethlisberger after he claimed Aaron Rodgers is better than the Chiefs star

Patrick Mahomes ' trainer has delivered a withering response to NFL legend Ben Roethlisberger after he made a recent bold claim about the Kansas City Chiefs star. Roethlisberger, a two-time Super Bowl winner with the Pittsburgh Steelers, recently claimed he would prefer to have Aaron Rodgers in his prime to Mahomes. 'Big Ben' was discussing his former team's move for Rodgers, who last month signed a one-year, $13.65million deal to be Mike Tomlin's starting quarterback next season. But while giving his reasoning, Roethlisberger also appeared to suggest Mahomes was no longer in the prime of his career. The Chiefs quarterback turns 30 later this year. 'Well, I would take Aaron and his prime over Patrick now,' he said on his podcast, "Footbahlin". 'I think Aaron Rodgers at his prime was one of the top few to ever do it, and so is Patrick Mahomes at his prime. Patrick Mahomes is just entering out of his prime. I think Aaron Rodgers.' Those comments did not go down well with trainer Bobby Stroupe, who has been working with Mahomes since he was nine. Responding to a post on X that carried Roethlisberger's quotes, Stroupe wrote: 'Not everybody quits working out at 30 years old, Ben.' In writing that, Stroupe appears to be suggesting that Roethlisberger was not in prime condition during the latter stages of his successful career. And he may have a point. Mahomes has plenty of years left on the football field and is quickly rising up the quarterback 'GOAT' list after shining in recent years. The Chiefs star, who is just 29, has been to five Super Bowls already in his career and won three - compared to Rodgers' single title claimed at Super Bowl XLV. Stroupe and Mahomes train four to five days a week during the NFL offseason with sessions varying in length from more than four hours to 90 minutes, time allowing. The fitness guru also rushed to Mahomes' defense during last year's offseason when fans were trolling him after pictures of his 'dad bod' went viral after the playoffs. 'I'll be the first to tell you that I think an NFL quarterback should have at least 14 per cent body fat,' Stroupe said at the time. 'It's not from an unhealthy standpoint, but from a force absorption standpoint. You have to be able to take contact. 'We know there's just not a lot of quarterbacks in the Hall of Fame that have a six-pack and there's a reason for that. 'We've got to find that fine line of performance and health. And the aesthetic part is a different conversation.' 'I don't need him to look like a model because the way he chooses to play requires a certain type of physicality, and that physicality needs more body fat,' Stroupe added. 'That is a core belief that I do have for him.'
