Seahawks legend makes Pro Football Focus' \

Pro Football Focus recently compiled a list of 10 late-career NFL veterans who are still playing at a high level. Former Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner made the prestigious list. Wagner has extended his Hall of Fame-worthy career with the Seattle Seahawks. "Despite playing more than 14,000 snaps in his 13-year career, Wagner is showing no signs of slowing down," Ryan Smith wrote. "Offensive Rookie of the Year Jayden Daniels received a lot of the headlines amid the Commanders' impressive turnaround last season, and deservedly so, but Wagner's impact on the defense in his first year with the team should not go unheralded." "Wagner's 88.3 PFF overall grade ranked third out of 84 qualifying linebackers, and he led the position in PFF pass-rush grade (90.9) and ranked second in PFF run-defense grade (91.2)," Smith continued. "It was his third straight year of earning a PFF run-defense grade higher than 91.0." Wagner recorded 132 tackles for the Commanders this past season en route to helping them to a surprise NFC Championship Game appearance. Wagner returned to the Seahawks in 2023 after departing the team after an illustrious 10-season (2012-21) run with the franchise. In 2023, he totaled a career-high 183 tackles. Wagner is a 10-time Pro Bowler, six-time First-Team All-Pro selection, Super Bowl (XLVIII) winner, and future Seahawks Ring of Honor member. It's great to see him still playing at such a high level.

NFL LB unit rankings: Most of NFC West in bottom 10

PFF ranked all 32 teams' LB units. The NFC West has three teams in the bottom 10. The offseason of lists and rankings continues as we wait for training camps to begin. These rankings are from PFF, lining up the linebacker units for all 32 NFL teams. We know that the Arizona Cardinals' group is not highly rated, but how do they stack up against their division rivals in the NFC West — the LA Rams, San Francisco 49ers and Seattle Seahawks. Below are the team rankings for the division. NFL LB unit rankings: NFC West teams Analysis It is no surprise that the 49ers are near the top, as they have arguably the best linebacker in the NFL in Fred Warner. The low rankings of the rest of the division are a change from years past, as Seattle has not yet recovered from moving on from Bobby Wagner and K.J. Britt. They now have Ernest Jones, who has been good but somehow got traded from the Rams to the Tennessee Titans to the Seahawks. He was re-signed this offseason but is recovering from offseason knee surgery. The Cardinals have the least proven group of the division. Two Commanders players ranked among NFL's biggest bargains of 2025

Nothing is more valuable in professional sports than an NFL quarterback on a rookie contract. If you found the right guy, you have five years to load up around him before paying him like a superstar. The Washington Commanders finally have their guy in Jayden Daniels. Daniels, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft, exceeded every expectation as a rookie. Daniels put up big numbers, won a lot of games, led the Commanders to the NFC championship, and led the team in rushing before winning every major Rookie of the Year award. It was also Washington's best season in 33 years. Advertisement In only one year, Daniels established himself as one of the NFL's premier quarterbacks. The good news for Washington is that it has him under contract for three more seasons plus an option year. If Daniels continues his current trajectory, he'll receive a new deal long before then. Until then, Daniels is one of, if not the biggest bargain in the NFL. CBS Sports recently named its All-Bargain Team using Pete Prisco's list of the top 100 players. Two Commanders, Daniels and linebacker Bobby Wagner, made the list. Daniels is the "elite quarterback on a rookie deal" fantasy brought to life. The Commanders' dynamic dual threat wasn't just efficient and explosive as a rookie quarterback; he was also unmoved by the moment, nearly dragging Washington all the way to the Super Bowl. Could he take a step back in Year 2? Sure. If he's healthy, though, we have no reason to believe he will. Regardless, he's a financial steal. Here's what CBS said about Wagner's inclusion: Like a fine wine, Wagner just can't stop aging gracefully. He'll be 35 at the start of 2025, which means the Commanders can only count on him for so long. Or can they? The longtime Seattle Seahawks star has missed just three games over the last decade, and while he may not possess the top-end athleticism of today's linebackers, he remains a physical force close to the line, totaling 1,800-plus tackles for his career. Wagner played almost every snap last season. Washington doesn't want him playing as many snaps in 2025 to keep him fresh for the entire game and later in the season. Wagner's leadership is almost as critical as his play on the field. Bringing back the future Hall of Famer was a slam-dunk for the Commanders, regardless of age. NFL All Quarter Century Team: Players from the NFC West

As we are in the dead of the offseason and there is almost nothing happening in the NFL until late July, now we get lists and rankings. ESPN put together an All Quarter Century Team for the NFL, constructing a 53-man roster with the best players of the last 25 years. The roster is sprinkled with a few of Arizona Cardinals players, some who played for Arizona at the end of their careers and others who were longtime Cardinals, as well as players who spent time with all of the teams in the NFC West. Who made the list? NFL All Quarter Century Team: Players from the NFC West Arizona Cardinals OL Alan Faneca DL Calais Campbell DL J.J. Watt CB Patrick Peterson Faneca barely counts as a Cardinal as he is famous for his time with the Pittsburgh Steelers, but he played his final NFL season in Arizona as a starter. Campbell is an awesome addition because at no point in his career has he been considered a top-five defensive lineman. But his consistent production over nearly two decades earns him a spot. Peterson was dominant for his first eight seasons in Arizona. Watt was one of the best defenders we have seen. He spent the last two seasons of his career in Arizona and had 12.5 sacks in his last season in 2022. LA Rams DL Aaron Donald LB Bobby Wagner Donald is an obvious choice. Wagner also has been one of the best linebackers this generation, but he only played one season with the Rams. San Francisco 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey FB Kyle Juszczyk WR Terrell Owens WR Randy Moss OT Trent Williams CB Richard Sherman OC Kyle Shanahan The 49ers have a ton of players on this list, although Moss only spent a season with them. Sherman's best came with Seattle. Seattle Seahawks OL Steve Hutchinson LB Bobby Wagner CB Richard Sherman All three players were generational. 5 former Seahawks named to ESPN's All Quarter Century team

5 former Seahawks named to ESPN's All Quarter Century team ESPN recently unveiled their All Quarter Century team: a list of who they consider to be the best NFL players from the year 2000 to present day. Their goal was to make a single team of the best to take the field during the first quarter of the 21st century. Naturally, more than a couple Seattle Seahawks made the list. Some qualifications ESPN made was players who began their careers in the 1990's were still eligible, but production from the year 2000 onward was the only criteria that would be counted. ESPN also allowed a "practice squad" player who missed the cut by their criteria. Those who did make the cut who played for the Seattle Seahawks are as follows: Steve Hutchinson (Seahawks 2001-2005) - second out of two left guards Bobby Wagner (Seahawks 2012-21, 2023) - second out of five linebackers Richard Sherman (Seahawks 2011-2017) - fourth out of five cornerbacks Earl Thomas III (Seahawks 2010-2018) - fourth out of four safeties Devin Hester (Seahawks 2016) - one out of one return specialists Naturally, seeing Bobby Wagner, Richard Sherman and Earl Thomas III make the list is unsurprising. They were the faces of the Legion of Boom, one of the greatest defenses of all time. A case could certainly be made Kam Chancellor should have been on it as well, considering he brought the boom to the LOB, but the rest of the safeties list was already crowded with Brian Dawkins, Ed Reed and Troy Polamalu, with Charles Woodson on the practice squad. However, I will outright say Walter Jones and Marshawn Lynch being left off are two inexcusable snubs. Walter Jones was a first ballot Hall of Famer and one of the best left tackles of all time. In 5,500 passing downs, Jones only surrendered 23 sacks and was penalized for holding nine times. His 4x All-Pro count matches Trent Williams, who did make the cut. Jones was mentioned as a practice squad player, but the roles should have been reversed. As for Marshawn Lynch, his 10,413 rushing yards and 94 all-purpose touchdowns are more than Priest Holmes, as well as having the same number of Super Bowl rings. Lynch is also a member of the Hall of Fame's All-Decade team of the 2010's, something neither Christian McCaffrey and Derrick Henry can say at the moment... nor do either men have championship rings. Finally... it is objectively amusing to see Devin Hester counted among the Seahawks after spending literally only two games with them during the 2016 postseason. But he is officially listed among Seattle's Hall of Famers so he does technically count!
