Boston police identify man shot and killed in car on Juneteenth
Boston police have identified the man who was shot and killed in a car on Juneteenth as 21-year-old Hyde Park resident Teo Vernice. Officers responded to a radio call about the shooting near 163 Ruthven St. in the city's Roxbury neighborhood shortly after 10 p.m. on Thursday, Boston police said in a press release. At the scene, they found Vernice with a gunshot wound, and he was taken to a local hospital where he was later declared dead. The preliminary investigation into the shooting suggests Vernice may have been shot inside a car that crashed at the scene, police said. The Chief Medical Examiner's Office has determined that his cause of death was a gunshot wound. Homicide detectives are investigating the shooting, police said. Boston police seek man involved in hit-and-run that left victim seriously injured
Boston police are asking the public to help them identify a man they believe was involved in a hit-and-run crash in last month that left another man seriously injured. The crash happened on May 3 around 9:20 p.m. near the intersection of Cambridge and Stark Streets in the city's Charlestown neighborhood, Boston police said in a press release. Emergency responders took a man with serious injuries to a hospital following the crash. Investigators believe the car involved in the crash was a black, four-door Mazda with no front license plate, police said. Two people are thought to have been in the car at the time of the crash.
