Scooter Braun on old friend Kanye West: 'I don't know him anymore'
Scooter Braun has had to "mourn" the person Kanye West used to be when they were friends. The 44-year-old record executive - who retired from artist management in 2024 - was the controversial rapper's manager between 2016 and 2018. Since 2022, the Stronger rapper has lost people's respect and faced financial consequences after he made a series of antisemitic remarks. Scooter - who is Jewish - says he doesn't recognise Kanye anymore and has no "relationship" with the 48-year-old star. He told Danielle Robay on her Question Everything podcast: 'I don't know him anymore. He continued: 'I think the person that I knew wasn't someone who says those things. Sometimes the hardest thing to do with someone you care about is mourn them while they're still here. The person that I knew is not the person that I'm seeing, so I don't have a relationship anymore.' When asked if he thinks the Bound 2 rapper can claw his way back, he dodged the question and insisted: 'I have three beautiful kids that need a dad to focus on them and make sure they're prepared and strong in this world. That's going to be my focus.'

Kanye West fans chant for refund at chaotic Shanghai gig
Kanye West's fans chanted for a refund at his Shanghai concert after he turned up more than 40 minutes late. The controversial rapper took to the stage at Shanghai Stadium on Saturday night (12.07.25) and was not only reported by The Global Times to be significantly delayed getting onstage, but his set was plagued by technical difficulties, with some fans even taking to social media to complain about the lack of production. A clip has gone viral online of the moment the 70,000-strong crowd erupted and demanded a refund. What's more, one fan accused him of lip syncing. They wrote on X: "Mostly lip synching. His microphone must have been up less than 20 per cent of the time." The same user, with the username @Fabian_Lemuel, also claimed Kanye left the stage for 20 minutes during the encore as his music played over the sound system. The disappointed gig-goer wrote: "For the encore, he disappeared for over 20 minutes at one point as tracks like Wolves just played out with him nowhere in sight. I could have just played your music at home man. Came to see u perform???? (sic)" The concert marked Kanye's first since September 2024. It also came days after he was accused of sexual assault and "oral rape" by his former assistant. The Stronger hitmaker was first sued by Lauren Pisciotta - who worked for the rapper from 2021 until she was fired the following year - in 2024 for sexual harassment, when she claimed he had sent her explicit texts and pornographic videos, photos and calls, and she followed up and filed a second amended complaint which alleged assault, sexual battery and other allegations. In a complaint obtained by People magazine, the woman accused Kanye of having 'attempted to vaginally penetrate Ms. Pisciotta with his fingers' and also having 'orally raped her without her consent' while she worked for him. Lauren alleged the 48-year-old star tried to kiss her multiple times without her consent before succeeding once during a trip to San Francisco in 2021, and she claimed that on another work trip, Kanye bombarded her with intimate questions and then 'stroked his penis over his pants with one hand and forcibly touched her vagina with the other hand.' The complaint went on to allege the Bound 2 rapper - who is married to Bianca Censori and has four children with ex-wife Kim Kardashian - exposed his penis to his then-employee before pushing her onto the bed and pinning her down. The documents state: 'He then thrust his penis repeatedly into Ms. Pisciotta's face against her will. 'As Ms. Pisciotta frantically pled for Ye to stop, Ye forced his penis into her mouth. Ms. Pisciotta froze in shock and fear but continued to plead with Ye and beg him to stop. After some time, Ye ended the rape, apologized, and exited Ms. Pisciotta's hotel room.' Other allegations of misconduct detailed in the amended complaint include Kanye having once locked Lauren in a bedroom and 'forced her to watch him masturbate against her will,' and that he 'forcibly grabbed' her by the throat during a concert, as well as an accusation the rapper hired a third party to allegedly harass his assistant by "falsely reporting non-existent emergencies and incidents,' which 'resulted in a barrage of alarming and intrusive visits" to her home from police, various government investigative authorities and delivery and service providers." When Lauren filed her lawsuit last year, Kanye's legal representative denied the allegations and accused her of "blackmail and extortion" with the "baseless" claims. Kanye has only played a handful of gigs in recent years and has lost brand deals and been dropped by huge names since making a series of antisemitic outbursts.

The pair filmed themselves in front of mountains and a sunset, and fans were quick to note the clip was similar to the music video. In the original clip, released in 2013, a topless Kim rode a motorcycle with Kanye as scenic landscapes flashed behind them. In the recreation, Bianca and Kanye were seen dancing before sharing a kiss. It's unclear what the pair were listening to, but Bianca added instrumental music over the video. Several celebrities have already been mentioned during Sean 'Diddy' Combs' sex-trafficking trial since it started on May 5. Kanye West, Michael B. Jordan, Kid Cudi and Mike Myers were among the first celebrities spoken of when the trial kicked off in New York City's Manhattan federal court. While the group wasn't accused of any wrongdoing, they were among the names jurors were warned might be talked about. Combs' ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura also took the stand, naming several celebrities. She recalled how the music mogul allegedly abused her during their on-again, off-again romance from 2007 to 2018. A few days later, he shared a prerecorded phone conversation with the Bad Boys Records founder via social media. When asked how long the parties would last, the hitmaker responded, 'significant periods of time … the longest was four days.' Ventura claimed that the 'Freak-Offs' left her with 'a lot of stomach issues and gastrointestinal issues from taking drugs.' Ventura also alleged that Combs would often abuse her by hitting her on the head, knocking her down and stomping on her if she was down. She alleged her ex would tell her to 'fix [her] face or watch [her] mouth' before 'hitting' her face. An unedited video of Combs abusing Ventura at the InterContinental Hotel in Century City, Calif., in 2016, was released during the trial. When Ventura testified, she mentioned she got together with the 'I'll Be Missing You' rapper while he was with the late Kim Porter. The 'Me & U' singer alleged her sexual relationship with Combs started 'many years' before they took their romance public in 2007. 'He just didn't want it to look bad, but also knew it was because of his children and personal things like his family,' Ventura claimed, per JustJared. Porter and Combs, who shared three kids, started dating in the '90s and split in 2007. She died in 2018 from pneumonia. Drake was named in Ventura's testimony, claiming she was abused by Combs ahead of attending the Canadian rapper's 2013 OVO Festival in Toronto. Ventura still attended the festival and was seen with French Montana. She recalled having to style her hair in a particular way to hide an alleged injury. Ventura returned to testify on May 14 and mentioned Prince. The 'Is It You' singer recalled how she went to the 'Kiss' singer's private concert in the basement of his Los Angeles home. She recalled the 'once in a lifetime experience' and claimed she didn't tell Combs she would be attending. 'He would have definitely not let me go,' Ventura said. Ventura alleged to have seen Combs shortly after arriving. She claimed to have 'caught a glimpse of him and [she] ran out as fast as [she] could.' 'I knew he was angry at me,' she testified, alleging how he went to the hotel where she was staying and beat her. Ventura recalled meeting Kid Cudi — born Scott Mescudi — in December 2011. The 'Official Girl' singer claimed not to have told Combs about her romance with the 'Day 'n' Nite' singer, explaining they weren't in a good place. Combs, however, allegedly found out about Ventura's fling during a 'Freak-Off' when he went through her phone. He allegedly retaliated by grabbing a wine bottle opener and threatening her.
