Portion of South Eighth Street in Manitowoc to be closed July 14 for building maintenance

MANITOWOC – A portion of South Eighth Street in Manitowoc will be closed part of July 14. The closure will begin at 7:30 a.m. and impact southbound through traffic on South Eighth Street between Franklin and Washington streets, the city said in a news release. While the closure is in place, southbound traffic will be detoured west on Franklin Street to South 10th Street and south on 10th Street to Washington Street. The closure is needed for building maintenance. The work is expected to be completed by 2 p.m. and then the road will be reopened to traffic. Manitowoc free outdoor movie series to feature 'Raiders of the Lost Ark,' 'Moana 2' and 'Hocus Pocus'

MANITOWOC – Three free outdoor movie nights will be held this summer and fall. The first will feature 'Raiders of the Lost Ark' at 8:30 p.m. June 26 at Lighthouse Park, 475 Maritime Drive. The second will be 'Moana 2' at 8:30 p.m. Aug. 7, also at Lighthouse Park. And the third will be 'Hocus Pocus' at 6:30 p.m. Oct. 3 at Washington Park, 1115 Washington St. Read more: Things to do in Manitowoc this week include Garden Faire Extraordinaire & more events Food and drinks will be available for purchase at each movie showing by Happy Snax. Guests are encouraged to set up their own chairs and blankets on the grass for the movie nights. The Lighthouse Park movie nights will overlook Lake Michigan. The 'Hocus Pocus' showing Oct. 3 kicks off a Halloween-themed weekend in the city. The following day, Oct. 4, Nightmare Off Eighth will be held. Wings & Wheels brings aircraft, classic cars, historic boats & food trucks to Sheboygan airport on Father's Day

SHEBOYGAN FALLS – Father's Day June 15 will mark the 32nd annual Wings & Wheels event at Sheboygan County Memorial Airport, N6191 Resource Drive, Sheboygan Falls. The event will feature aircraft, classic cars, historic boats and food trucks. It runs 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. with a pancake breakfast from 7 to 11 a.m. Six food trucks will begin serving at around 10 a.m. The classic car and tractor display usually draws around 100 or more vehicles. Those displaying their classic vehicles will receive a dash plaque. Read more: USA TODAY readers ranked a Sheboygan County lake and beach among the best in the country Wings & Wheels attracts anywhere from 10 to 30 aircraft depending on weather, and about a dozen antique boats. Model trains will be displayed along with Rockets for Schools. In addition to a variety of aircraft and classic cars, Flight for Life is scheduled to arrive around 9 a.m. and be open for viewing. Collection will be delayed one day by the May 26 holiday as follows: Monday's collection will move to Tuesday; Tuesday's collection will move to Wednesday; Wednesday's collection will move to Thursday; Thursday's collection will move to Friday; and Friday's collection will move to Saturday. Garbage history: Sheboygan once burned its garbage instead of putting it in a landfill. That ended in 1992.
