These are the most popular fantasy football team names of 2025
A fantasy football team never looks better than it does after the draft. It's full of stars, breakout candidates and OBVIOUS league-winners. But, even though the team is sitting pretty before Week 1 kickoff, you have to make sure you complete one final, crucial step. You have to NAME your team! (I have been told that naming your fantasy football team is neither that important nor that essential, but idc, because it is to me!) [Join or create a Yahoo Fantasy Football league for the 2025 NFL season] Yes, I take naming my teams very, very seriously (maybe if I spent less time thinking of team names and more on draft strategy, I'd have more championship rings, but ah well, that's neither here nor there). Any time I join a new league, I immediately change my team name to "TBD" (To Be Determined) until draft time. Once I have secured my first-round player, I usually then name my team something related to him, or I find some combination of players to mess around with a name. But that isn't the only way to name your team. There are several other routes you can take. Here's an example: Last season I drafted Breece Hall with the No. 2 pick of my home league's draft. That virtually sunk my team as Hall failed to live up to his consensus top-five ADP, but my squad as a whole was still competitive. "Competitive" being the key word there, as I somehow managed to lose a bunch of weeks by minuscule margins, my team seemingly finding new ways to fail against a variety of opponents. Thus, I named my team "The 2024 Cincinnati Bengals." Lol. These are just a few of the ways to come up with a name, but again, there are so many ways YOU can approach naming YOUR team. Here are some suggestions for your 2025 fantasy team name Below you'll find some of the most popular, creative and hilarious team names from the Yahoo Fantasy community who've already drafted this season. What will you do with your 30 characters when it's time to name your team? Prestige Worldwide The 2008 comedy Step Brothers has somehow aged to become one of the best comedies of all time, while also remaining a cult classic. Will Ferrell and John C. Reilly's ridiculous antics throughout the film have produced tons of quotable, meme-able moments. One of the most popular being the duo's presentation of their entertainment venture, "Prestige Worldwide." Prestige Worldwide also happens to be one of the absolute most popular fantasy football team names, year in and year out. If you've watched the movie, you'd understand why — Prestige Worldwide is a huge endeavor, one that encompasses various parts of the entertainment and service industries. I, too, would like my fantasy football team to be a wide-reaching, successful business venture. Breece's Pieces I drafted Breece Hall with the No. 2 pick of my home league last year. I probably don't need to tell you how that went for my team and I, but suffice it to say, Hall did not live up to his consensus top-five standing last season. And as much as I love Reese's Pieces, I can't help but cringe at how that one pick pretty much blasted my season into ... well, tiny pieces. Finding Deebo This might be a triple entendre of a name. First of all, Deebo Samuel Sr., after spending the first six years of his career as a 49er, will be donning a new uniform for the first time, so you'll be forgiven for wondering what team he's on (it's the Commanders, btw). Secondly, the name is a play on the Disney hit Finding Nemo. And third, Samuel has been in performance decline the past couple of seasons, looking like a shell of his former dual-threat self. So yes, many fantasy managers are hoping they'll find the real Deebo in 2025. Love Thy Nabers I mean, c'mon — talk about hitting the "name your team after a player" prompt right on the head. Ten-of-ten, no notes. Threat Level Midnight "The Office" will go down as one of the best comedy shows in television history — they also love their fantasy football. Threat Level Midnight is an episode involving a hilariously low-budget film Michael Scott (the iconic main protagonist of "The Office" played by Steve Carell) wrote, directed and starred in. But as funny as it was, the film is also kind of good, and that's probably all we want from our fantasy teams. McConkey Kong Let's end this with another play on names. Ladd McConkey shoved aside any concerns about his size or his ability in a pro offense by becoming the third-best rookie wide receiver in fantasy football (both total points and points per game) last season. McConkey showed a fearlessness and power in his play last year, absorbing some huge hits all over the field as the primary target for the Chargers. He also delivered some big plays for chunk yardage, displaying a level of athleticism Donkey Kong would be proud of. Still going strong Some of the most popular names from 2024 are still among the top options for this season: Bijan Mustard and To Infinity and Bijan Hurts So Good Nacua Matata LaPorta Potty Run CMCStay tuned — we'll have more of the top team names throughout draft season!

Jets' Breece Hall disrespected by ESPN after down 2024 season
Jets' Breece Hall disrespected by ESPN after down 2024 season originally appeared on A to Z Sports. The New York Jets are going to have a good running game in 2025. I can confidently say that based on their new philosophy, their choice in quarterback, their draft picks and the overall tone of the team. It appears that they are trying to build the type of team that will tell you they are running the ball and where and dare you to stop it. For the record, I think you can win a lot of games with that philosophy, but without a passing attack, a deep playoff run is out of the question. One of the main reasons the Jets are going to be focused on the running attack is because of the stable of running backs on the team. The leader of that group is Breece Hall who many assume is going to have a big year given the Jets new-found philosophy and personnel. But not everyone in the league sees the same big numbers in Breece's future as the media would have us believe. ESPN surveyed league executives, coaches and scouts to rank the top 10 players at 11 different positions. Voters gave ESPN their 10 best players at a position, which they then compiled the results and ranked candidates based on number of top-10 votes, composite average and dozens of interviews, with research and film study help from ESPN NFL analyst Matt Bowen. When all that was done, Breece Hall was left out of the top 10 of running backs. Saquon Barkley was ranked number one (deservedly so) and Alvin Kamara finished at number 10. Breece Hall was the fourth player listed in the 'honorable mention' category. "He's been one of the best in the league at points. I just haven't felt the same way recently. I know the injuries have been an issue," said one NFL coordinator. "That's not all his fault. He was in a bad offense. Still has good lower-body balance and home run juice," said a veteran AFC personnel executive Last year, Hall was second behind only the 49ers' Christian McCaffrey but took a step back in rushing yards (876), catches (57) and touchdowns (8) as the offense failed to gain any real traction. In fact, the rushing game was the source of Aaron Rodgers' frustration and he is still complaining about it while a member of the Pittsburgh Steelers. McCaffery, meanwhile is still listed at number five on the list despite carrying the ball only 50 times last season for the struggling San Francisco 49ers. In my opinion, this was more disrespect to the New York Jets as an organization than to Breece Hall himself. Breece played through some injuries last season on a team that was leaderless and still managed to put up some decent numbers. I expect Hall to have a bounce back year and can see him finishing in the top 10 in many offensive categories this the to see embedded media. Jets' star running back in line for bounce back following down year
At the running back position in the NFL, there is a lot of young talent, alongside a bunch of proven stars. The Jets have a guy in Breece Hall who is right on the cusp of being among the league's best, but will he be there by the end of 2025? Breece Hall is coming off a down year Many expected last season to be a true breakout year for Hall, but it didn't go according to plan. He put up only 876 rushing yards and five touchdowns on the ground, along with 483 yards and three touchdowns receiving. Credit: Ed Mulholland-Imagn Images In 2023, he cemented himself as a quality back. Hall had right around 1,585 all-purpose yards and nine touchdowns, which led to high expectations entering last season. Advertisement Last year, Hall's problems likely came from either his injury concerns with his knee and/or scheme and offensive line problems. While all of those issues are real, Hall just didn't look like himself. Jets hoping for a bounce-back from Hall The Jets are hoping their prized running back bounces back from his down season. The front office, led by new general manager Darren Mougey, put in front of him Hal an offensive line that will certainly help him return to form. This line is vastly improved from last season, as they changed out both tackle spots with two first-round picks: 2024's Olu Fashanu and 2025's Armand Membou. Credit: Brad Penner-Imagn Images With these two at the tackle position, the Jets know they have an athletic and versatile offensive line. They are able to get out in space and lay blocks, which, for big plays, is extremely important. This will help Hall get to the edge and use his speed to beat people. Advertisement The Jets' receivers also have a different attitude than in previous years, as they have now made it clear that blocking for the back is extremely important. All of this adds up with a new addition in the coaching room in offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand. Hall has everything set up for him to succeed. Barring any health issues, 2025 should be a good year for the Jets' running back. Related Headlines

Jets' Running Back 'Plan' Not Ideal For Breece Hall
Jets' Running Back 'Plan' Not Ideal For Breece Hall originally appeared on Athlon Sports. New York Jets running back Breece Hall is entering a career-defining 2025 season with Aaron Glenn and Tanner Engstrand. Advertisement Playing on the final year of his rookie deal, Hall's future in the Big Apple is murky at best, with his name being thrown up all offseason as a trade possibility, and Glenn already stating he wants to use three backs in Hall, Braelon Allen, and Isaiah Davis in the offense. That's not ideal for a player looking to earn a new contract. And this isn't ideal either. Jets X-Factor's Michael Nania suggests that while Hall might be the bellcow back, splitting the carries with Allen and Davis might be how the offense operates. 'One potential plan for the Jets could work as follows: On every other drive, they give Hall a rest, rotating between Allen and Davis on the non-Hall drives,' Nania wrote. Advertisement 'Their downhill running styles are ideal for keeping the Jets on schedule with positive gains while Hall sits, allowing him to keep his legs fresh and come back in with the energy to unleash home runs." New York Jets running back Breece Hall (20) runs with the ball© Kevin R. / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images Having never surpassed the classic 1,000 yards in a single season, Hall, we suspect, will need to do that in 2025 to warrant Glenn and the coaching staff thinking about keeping him beyond this season. That will be tough if snaps are divided up between three players. But that feels like the way it will go under Engstrand, who wants to use a Detroit Lions-like style that has multiple backs being used. Advertisement Hall wants a new contract and to show the NFL world he can be the dominant force he knows he can be, but this latest "plan" is going to make achieving that awfully tough. Jets' Offense Predicted To Have Distinct Running Flavor
Jets' Offense Predicted To Have Distinct Running Flavor originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The way forward for the New York Jets, at least this year under Aaron Glenn and offensive coordinator Tanner Engstrand, seems to be rather straightforward. Advertisement With a running quarterback in Justin Fields, coupled with Breece Hall and Braelon Allen behind a stout and perhaps underrated offensive line, the Jets will be running the ball and a lot. Well, that's the plan anyway. With Engstrand coming from the Detroit Lions, who have boasted a stellar run game the past couple of seasons, The Athletic's Jacob Robinson thinks that the Jets will try to replicate that. "It's no secret that the Jets offense plans to run the ball a lot, but we still don't know how this talented backfield will split," Robinson writes. "RB Breece Hall is ready for a three-down role, but with OC Tanner Engstrand hailing from Detroit, The Athletic's Jets beat reporter Zack Rosenblatt suspects that Hall plays the Jahmyr Gibbs role, with Braelon Allen as the David Montgomery-type. Expect their quarterback to run plenty, too." Advertisement New York Jets running back Breece Hall (20) runs with the ball© Kevin R. / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images Hall has shown he can be a dependable back, both as a runner and pass catcher, while Allen, albeit fleetingly in his rookie season, showed flashes of his bruising potential. Now, the pair are behind a good offensive line and have Engstrand and Glenn, both of whom have ideas on how the Lions ran their offense, so, there will no doubt be some familiarity there. The question is, can Fields bring it all together? We know his ability as a runner, but if there isn't the threat of him passing downfield, defenses will stack the box and stop the run. So, while the offense will be run-heavy, Fields has to show he can be a consistent passer to keep defenders from crashing down and stuffing run after run. Advertisement The plan of attack seems simple under Engstrand. Let's see if the players can carry out his vision.
