Delhi University opens correction window for UG admission 2025: One-time edit allowed till this date
Delhi University has officially opened the correction window for undergraduate admissions 2025 through the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal. The university is admitting students based on their CUET-UG 2025 scores, and the admission process is being conducted in multiple phases. The correction facility, now live on the CSAS portal, allows applicants to make changes to their submitted applications between July 6 and July 11 (11:59 PM). However, this is a one-time opportunity: applicants will not be allowed to make further edits once the window closes. Forest dept launches afforestation drive in Mysuru, plans to plant 3.6L saplings
Mysuru: The forest department has launched a major afforestation drive aiming to plant 3.8 lakh saplings across Mysuru for the year 2025-26. Of these, 2.5 lakh have already been distributed to farmers and organisations, while 1.3 lakh are being planted along roads. The early monsoon has accelerated the initiative. The forest department grew more than 3.8 lakh saplings at its nurseries to distribute to farmers and various organisations, and to plant roadside, to improve forest cover. It grew varieties of fruit-bearing and other saplings under the Rising of Seedlings for Public Distribution (RSPD) scheme in 2025-26 to distribute to the public and farmers at its nurseries. Last year, the department grew 3.6 lakh saplings at its nurseries. It grew native species like neem, peepal, and banyan, which are well-suited for the local environment and wildlife, along with fruit-bearing plants such as mango, jamun, jackfruit, teak, sandalwood, red sanders, mahogany, and silver, among several others. Under the Aranya Krishi Protsaha scheme, the department distributed 1.1 lakh saplings to 720 farmers from all the taluks last year. Registration to avail benefit open This year, the department opened the registration for farmers, allowing them to buy the saplings at no cost after producing photocopies of their Aadhar card, RTC, other land records, and bank account details to the department. The department also provides an incentive of Rs 35 for each sapling of all surviving plants after the first year of plantation, Rs 40 for the second year, and Rs 50 for each plant by conducting on-the-spot inspection and verification under the scheme. A total of Rs 125 will be provided by the department for all surviving plants under the scheme for farmers. This year, the registration to avail the benefit under the scheme is open until the end of Oct. Farmers can plant the saplings on their agricultural fields, bunds, and other places of their interest in their fields. Aranya Krishi Protsaha scheme "Aranya Krishi Protsaha scheme has helped farmers like me with free access to saplings from the forest department. However, I request the department to deposit the incentive amount to my bank account on time for all surviving plants," said K Marigowda from Kaimaballi village in T Narasipura taluk. Deputy conservator of forest (Mysuru), KN Basavaraju said that the department has already started distributing saplings available at its six nurseries, and receiving good response for saplings both from the public and farmers.

37-year-old woman loses leg after dumper hits scooter in Tathawade
1 2 Pune: A 37-year-old woman lost her left leg after a dumper truck hit her scooter from the rear in Tathawade around 2pm on Monday. The woman — Swara Sanjay Pawar, who is a staff head at a local gym — lost her balance and fell, with her left leg going under the truck's front wheel. "The driver of the dumper truck fled the scene, leaving her trapped under the vehicle. Rescuers, including local residents, used an earth mover to lift the truck. The rescue efforts took around 30 minutes. By that time her leg was severely damaged due to significant blood loss," sub-inspector Ashok Dudhawane from Hinjewadi police station said.
