One concerned user commented: "Yeah, it's time for these artists to get out the air…" Another questioned: "Why do all of these stars need these floating stages for their shows." "Her astronaut training kicked in and was able to keep her calm and able to continue with the show. Mission accomplished," another joked. Videos show Katy Perry's mid-air prop malfunction at San Francisco concert
Katy Perry was clinging to a butterfly prop during her Lifetimes Tour concert on July 18 in San Francisco. In multiple fan videos, Perry nearly falls above the audience at the Chase Center as the prop malfunctions while she is in the air. While singing her 2013 hit song "Roar," the 13-time Grammy nominee was riding on the prop when it titled and dropped, seemingly causing her to lose her balance. USA TODAY has reached out to reps for Perry for comment. In the clip, Perry looks back up at the prop's wires and down at the audience before continuing to sing "Roar," crooning "and you're gonna hear me roar, louder than a lion." Orlando Bloom, Katy Perry breakup: Couple to focus on co-parenting daughter Daisy With her signature humor, the "Last Friday Night" hitmaker Perry jokingly took to her Instagram Stories with a blurred, zoomed in picture of her reaction to the viral moment, captioning the post "Good Night San Fran." High-flying, mid-air performances were popularized by Perry's fellow popstar Pink. The Perry malfunction comes weeks after a Beyoncé concert June 28 when the Cowboy Carter creator sang her hit single "16 Carriages" while soaring in a red car when a technical glitch caused the vehicle to tilt midair. She briefly paused the show telling everyone to "stop" repeatedly, before being safely lowered and landing the car among the audience. There were no injuries. Shortly after, Beyoncé returned to the stage cool, calm and collected. She joked, "if I ever fall, I know y'all will catch me," before carrying on with the show. It's been a busy, rollercoaster year for the "California Girls" singer. Perry recently wrapped a four-show stint in Adelaide, Australia, which capped nearly four weeks of performing in the island country, as she ended her concert emotionally following a highly publicized split from longtime partner Orlando Bloom. "Thank you for always being there for me, Australia; it means the world," a teary-eyed Perry told the crowd as her 4-year-old daughter Daisy Dove's vocals on her "143" album-closing track "Wonder" rang out in the arena. She shook off the emotion and said, "Now let's sing 'Firework!'" The A-list actor and Perry confirmed their split in a July 3 statement to USA TODAY via their representatives. Katy Perry, Orlando Bloom split: Insider claims six-year engagement over, reveals how pop singer is coping
Katy Perry and Orlando Bloom have reportedly split after almost a decade of dating. A source close to the A-list pair revealed that while Perry is upset about the relationship ending, she is relieved she doesn't have to go through another divorce. 'Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable,' an insider told US Weekly. 'It's not contentious at the moment. Katy is, of course, upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life.' According to the source, Perry, 40, and Bloom's split has been a 'long time coming' as tensions have simmered behind the scenes for months. It is believed that the pop star told friends in January that her nine-year relationship with the British actor, 48, was practically over. The pair got engaged in early 2019 after dating for three years, before welcoming their now four-year-old daughter Daisy in 2020. For now, Perry is reportedly staying 'distracted' and 'keeping busy' while on tour and caring for her daughter. The California Girls singer has been spotted several times with her daughter while touring Australia this month. Meanwhile, Bloom has made multiple solo public appearances, including a stop at the Tribeca Film Festival to promote an upcoming film. Rumours of a breakup started to intensify when the former couple rented out their $30 million mansion in Montecito, California, to Chris Pratt and his wife, Katherine Schwarzenegger. The insider close to the couple said Perry and Bloom always lived in their second Montecito home as their primary residence; however, the pair had intended to establish the rented mansion as 'their family home' before the situation changed. They added that Perry and Bloom have 'been living apart since Katy has been on tour.' This news follows reports that Bloom will attend the controversial wedding of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez in Venice solo, where he will make his 'single man' debut, according to TMZ. Another source told The Sun that the couple decided to hold off on announcing anything in case things improved between them, as they were desperate to stay together for the sake of their daughter. 'But they have spent barely any time together this year, with Katy on tour and Orlando working on his upcoming film Bucking Fastard in Dublin,' the source said. The source claims that Perry knew that taking off her engagement ring would send a clear message. 'It's been a hard year so far. They wanted to wait until the tour is over before they made their split official, although Katy has grown tired of the situation.'
