Katy Perry fans praise her 'professionalism' after prop drops as star clings on
Katy Perry fans were in awe over her professionalism as the star kept calm when a butterfly prop she was on dropped mid-air during a recent concert. The California Girls singer performed Roar at the Chase Centre when the prop seemingly dropped down as the crowd below gasped in concern for the singer.
The singer paused the song for several short moments to find her footing before resuming again. She even joked about the scary situation after the concert and shared a close-up picture of her panicked face when the prop fell. Katy added in the caption: "Goodnight San Fran."
Fans were in shock over the situation and rushed to social media to praise her calm reaction to the moment. One user said on X/ Twitter: "The professionalism here is beyond insane, like that could've easily cost your life, but Katy didn't panic and she kept the show going...."
"The way she kept calm and kept singing- others would have freaked and said 'no no please stop' so glad Katy is safe but the safety team needs to step up," another user posted.
One concerned user commented: "Yeah, it's time for these artists to get out the air…" Another questioned: "Why do all of these stars need these floating stages for their shows."
"Her astronaut training kicked in and was able to keep her calm and able to continue with the show. Mission accomplished," another joked.
The terrifying incident comes after and Orlando Bloom called it quits on their nine-year romance - six years after the Pirates of The Caribbean actor popped the question.
The representatives declared: "Orlando and Katy have been shifting their relationship over the past many months to focus on coparenting. They will continue to be seen together as a family, as their shared priority is - and always will be - raising their daughter with love, stability and mutual respect."
Before the official announcement, an insider had informed the magazine of their amicable split, stating: "Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable. It's not contentious at the moment.
"Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life."
Days before the news was confirmed, Katy delivered an emotionally charged performance in Adelaide, Australia, on June 30. Katy broke down as she wrapped up her set, fighting back tears and creating a heart sign with her hands to express her affection for the crowd.
Grateful for their unwavering support, Katy told the audience: "Thank you for always being there for me, Australia. It means the world." After regaining her composure, Katy burst into her renowned hit 'Firework'.

Katy Perry reveals her VERY unusual pre-show ritual as she plunges her face into ice cold water ahead of her Canada shows after Lifetimes Tour hit string of blunders
Katy Perry revealed her unusual pre-show ritual as she prepares to take her Lifetimes Tour to Canada. The singer, 40, shared a quirky video to Instagram showing herself plunging her face into ice cold water as part of her pre-show routine. In the clip, she dipped her face into a bowl of iced water while breathing into a blue tube and timed how long she could hold her face in freezing cold water. Katy pulled her reddened face out of the icy water after 18 seconds before going back in for another eight seconds, then declaring that she was 'done'. 'It hurts my brain, I'm done,' she shared. 'I tried to look better for you Canada, I don't care.' Katy revealed that it was all part of a beauty ritual, though some of her team appeared less than convinced as one could be heard saying it was 'so stupid'. The singer, 40, shared a quirky video to Instagram showing herself plunging her face into ice cold water as part of her pre-show routine Alongside her post she penned: 'OH BOY CANADA HERE WE COME, EH.' Katy dubbed the item 'the best Instagram purchase she had ever made' as she claimed it was part of her upcoming show preparation. The FaceTub, which costs a staggering £109, combines cold water facial immersion and breathwork for reported skin benefits which include vagus nerve stimulation and deep breathing practice. Katy is set to take to the stage in Edmonton on July 24 to kick off her Canadian leg of her Lifetimes tour, before taking it to Winnipeg on July 26 and Ottawa on July 29. She will then travel to Montreal for a show on July 30 before performing in Quebec City the following night. The Roar hitmaker will then wrap things up with two shows in Toronto on August 5 and 6. Her Lifetimes tour has hit a number of snags and she most recently tripped and fell onstage during a show in Phoenix, Arizona. Amid reports of sluggish ticket sales, the tour began inauspiciously this April with a Mexico City concert that left fans roasting the singer for her 'mom moves '. As she jetted around the world for her gigs, her personal life made headlines with news that she had split from her fiancé Orlando Bloom, who attended Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sanchez 's wedding solo as Katy performed in Australia. After returning to the States, she then hit another obstacle when she nearly fell from the air when a stage prop malfunctioned, and she also tripped on stage in another blunder. In fan footage circulating on TikTok, the California Gurls hitmaker was seen running onstage before stumbling and falling painfully on her front. She quickly recovered, drawing herself up to her knees and managing an improvised little dance that consisted of her jerkily pumping her fists up and down. Online observers shared their reactions, as one wrote: 'On stage she acts like a toddler running around at a wedding' and another wondered: 'Who is paying for this.' A third remarked that 'her tripping is the least embarrassing part of this video,' while a fourth said: 'If I had free tickets I still don't think I'd go.' One waggish TikTok user took aim at Katy's controversial all-female space flight, quipping: 'She's getting used to earths gravity again guys, don't make fun of her.' Others wrote: 'Not a single one of her songs warrants any of this,' 'You couldn't pay me enough to see her in concert!!,' 'The humiliation continues…,' 'Her career in 2 seconds,' and: 'They paid to watch her 'baby shark.'' Exactly one week after the Phoenix mishap, Katy left fans terrified by nearly falling out of the air during a performance in San Francisco. Fans were left panicked as they captured the heart-stopping moment when she belted out her hit song Roar while soaring through the sky on a mechanical butterfly. Taking to Instagram the following day, Katy found the humor in the situation as she shared a series of snaps poking fun at the incident. Captioning a set of photos that showed the contrast of the day, she wrote: 'How the LA show started ➡️ how the LA show ended.' The first snap showed Katy relaxing in a bathtub, before cutting to some behind-the-scenes snaps of the show. It then switched to footage of Katy plunging downwards on the flying stage prop above the audience, followed by a clip of her walking out of the arena in her dressing gown, looking noticeably shaken. Katy also shared a snap on her Stories of the fall, with the caption: 'Goodnight San Francisco.'

American music sensation is rumoured as a shock choice to play at the AFL Grand Final
After Katy Perry stole the show at the MCG last year, the AFL is reportedly eyeing up another very surprising act to headline the pre-match entertainment for this year's Grand Final. Snoop Dogg is, according to 3AW Melbourne, being lined up to perform at this year's showpiece event. The world-renowned American hip-hop artist, 53, made headlines this week after joining up with former Real Madrid and Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric in purchasing a stake in Welsh football club Swansea City. As the AFL looks to grow its audiences around the world, Ross Stevenson, on 3AW's Rumour File, on Thursday, revealed that the AFL was looking to draft in Snoop Dogg to perform at the 'G. While speaking on the Breakfast show with Russell Howcroft, Stevenson interestingly noted that there was one telling detail that could prove the rumour to be true, noting that Snoop Dogg was playing a show in the Philippines two days before the Grand Final. 'Do you like to travel?' Stevenson asked Howcroft. 'Do you want to go to the Philippines this year? You want to go to MOA Stadium in the Philippines?' He added: 'You want to go there on September 25?' 'Well, the Dees won't be playing?' Howcroft responded. Stevenson replied: 'You know who you can see in the Philippines on September 25? Snoop Dogg.' He also added that Snoop Dogg was set to be with another surprise guest while he's in the Philippines. Howcroft said: 'Aw, he's on his way!' Stevenson added: 'He's in the neighbourhood! I said to Damien Barrett about the rumour about Snoop Dogg being the Grand Final entertainment. He goes: 'He might need someone else with him...' 'Do you know who he's with in the Philippines two days before the Grand Final? 'Dr Dre?' Howcroft replied, with Stevenson adding: 'Dr Dre is correct! Does that get the job done, Damien.' Snoop Dogg and Dr Dre notably performed during the Super Bowl half-time show back in 2022. The AFL has welcomed some huge names to the MCG for the pre-match entertainment over the years. Katy Perry took to the stage in 2024, performing hits including 'Roar', 'Teenage Dream' and 'California Gurls'. In 2022, Robbie Williams took to the stage in a bright pink blazer that remains in the MCG's museum, while in 2020, Aussie band, the DMA's performed their version of Cher's 'Believe'. Howcroft also delivered his theory behind how the AFL managed to get Snoop Dogg to perform at the Grand Final. 'I believe what's happening this year is that the AFL is taking full control of who is the entertainment at the AFL Grand Final,' he explained. 'They used to outsource it [the entertainment]. That third party is no longer involved. It is all in-house.' Turns out @snoopdogg is a GC SUNS supporter. #foshizzle #FIREUP — Gold Coast Suns (@GoldCoastSUNS) January 20, 2014 Snoop Dogg, interestingly, is a fan of Aussie rules football and is a fan of the Gold Coast Suns. Back in 2014, the Suns published a picture of Snoop Dogg performing in a nightclub while sporting their famous red and gold guernsey. But it remains to be seen whether Snoop will see his team play in the showpiece event, despite the Suns enjoying a brilliant season so far. They currently sit eighth in the ladder, four points ahead of the Bulldogs in ninth. Damien Hardwick's side have never made a finals appearance since they entered the league back in 2011, with their highest finish coming in 2022 and 2014 when they placed 12th. Snoop Dogg, meanwhile, has had a busy summer already, having announced that he has made a very surprising invested in Championship club Swansea City in Wales. The rap star, who is renowned for hits such as 'The Next Episode', 'Gin and Juice' and 'Drop It Like It's Hot', spoke of his love for soccer, following the investment. 'My love of football is well known, but it feels special to me that I make my move into club ownership with Swansea City. 'The story of the club and the area really struck a chord with me. This is a proud, working-class city and club. An underdog that bites back, just like me. 'I'm proud to be part of Swansea City. I am going to do all I can to help the club, and I look forward to getting to know all my YJBS.'

Last month in June, it was reported that the former couple separated and ended their engagement after nine years together. Bloom was stylishly casual wearing a pair of black slacks as well as a short-sleeved black shirt. He completed his look for the evening by slipping into a pair of black shoes and added a flashy silver watch onto his left wrist. Bloom held a big grin on his face as he greeted fans that were awaiting outside the venue before heading to his next destination. Bloom has been keeping busy following his breakup from the Dark Horse songstress, and recently spent time in the U.K. where he attended an Oasis gig in Manchester. The actor also made an appearance during Wimbledon and sported a dapper look during the championships in London. Orlando could be seen watching the match from the stands while sporting a darker tan suit as well as a white dress shirt and patterned tie. Late last month, it was revealed that Orlando and Katy officially called it quits after dating for nine years. At the time, a source told Us Weekly: 'Katy and Orlando have split but are amicable,' while also adding that the separation has been 'not contentious' thus far. 'Katy is of course upset but is relieved to not have to go through another divorce, as that was the worst time in her life.' The Teenage Dream hitmaker was previously married to Russell Brand from 2010 until their divorce in 2012.
