Tracked, Hunted In Less Than 3 Hours: A Detailed Timeline Of Op Mahadev
The security forces in Jammu and Kashmir avenged the Pahalgam attack today after hunting down the alleged mastermind, Suleiman Shah, alias Hashim Musa, in an encounter in Srinagar. Codenamed Operation Mahadev, three terrorists were killed in an encounter that was planned meticulously for several days before execution. Suleiman Shah, a Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) terrorist, is a former commando of the Pakistan Army's elite unit - Special Service Group (SSG). He later joined UN-designated terrorist Hafiz Saeed's LeT to carry out terror activities, sources told NDTV. A Detailed Timeline The group was tracked for the last few days, and at 2 am, the group activated the T82 ultraset communications device, a highly encrypted platform. This helped the forces to pick up the precise location of the terrorists in the Dachigam forests, security agency sources told NDTV. At 8 am, a drone was launched to get the first visual of the terrorists and at 9:30 am, the Rashtriya Rifles (RR) - the Army's counter-insurgency force in Jammu and Kashmir. Along with RR troops, Para Special Forces commandos ascended on the Mahadev hill feature at 10 am. In just 30 minutes, the Para commandos did a visual identification of the terrorists. At 11 am, shots were fired, and all three terrorists were hit in the first burst of fire. At 11:45 am, one terrorist, who was injured, attempted to escape but was eliminated. Forty-five minutes later, a cleansing operation was launched in a two-kilometre radius of the encounter site. At 12:45 pm, the terrorists' bodies were identified and photographed. NDTV has also accessed a photo of the terrorist hideout that was targeted in Operation Mahadev. The visuals show multiple guns in the hideout located deep inside a forest area. According to sources, Carbine and AK-47 rifles, 17 rifle grenades and other arms and ammunition were recovered during the encounter. Security forces suspect that the terrorists were planning a big action in Jammu and Kashmir. Operation Sindoor On the intervening night of May 6 and 7, India carried out precision strikes around 1 am on terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied Kashmir in response to the Pahalgam attack. India struck bases in Pakistan and PoK from where terrorist attacks were being planned and executed. Nine sites were targeted in the strikes under the codename 'Operation Sindoor' - an ode to the women who lost their husbands in the Pahalgam attack. India's retaliatory strike was designed to dismantle key logistical, operational, and training infrastructure used by LeT, Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizbul Mujahideen, and other affiliated networks. Each of the nine sites selected for the operation had a history of association with major terror plots and infiltration attempts directed at India. One of the sites, Muridke, is the headquarters of the terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba, which is run by Hafiz Saeed, and Bahalwapur in Pakistan's Punjab province is the base of Jaish-e-Mohammad, an outfit run by Masood Azhar.

DRDO-Bharat Forge develop an assault rifle lighter than a kitchen pressure cooker, built for urban warfare
The Defence Research and Development Organisation ( DRDO ) and Bharat Forge have jointly developed a new Close Quarter Battle (CQB) Carbine for the Indian Armed Forces. The weapon is intended to serve operational needs in urban warfare and counter-insurgency missions, where existing assault rifles may be less effective due to their size. The carbine is the result of collaboration between DRDO's Armament Research and Development Establishment (ARDE), Pune , and private-sector manufacturer Bharat Forge. The Ministry of Defence (MoD) had earlier issued an Acceptance of Necessity (AoN) for 4,25,213 units of 5.56 x 45mm CQB Carbines in 2022. Developed through public-private collaboration 'This weapon has been designed by DRDO's ARDE, Pune, and is being manufactured by Bharat Forge,' said Prateek Kishore, Scientist and Director General of Armament & Combat Engineering Systems (ACE), DRDO. 'It's a clear case of full synergy between the development agency and the manufacturing partner, which has contributed to the successful realization of this system. It's an extremely proud moment not just for DRDO, but for the country as a whole.' Tailored for close-quarter combat The CQB Carbine is designed for rapid response in close-range combat scenarios such as counter-terrorism operations, building clearances, and engagements in dense or urban areas. The compact design improves mobility and response time during missions where standard assault rifles may not be suitable. Live Events Combat-ready and performance tested The carbine has been tested against international performance standards and is considered ready for infantry deployment. According to DRDO, the weapon weighs approximately 3.3 kilograms and has an effective range of 200 meters. It can fire both NATO-standard and INSAS ammunition. 'It is a highly potent weapon for our infantry soldiers,' Kishore said. 'Its ability to accommodate different ammunition types places it in a class of its own.' Design and specifications The weapon is equipped with a short barrel and modern ergonomic features, making it easier to use in confined areas. It also includes a 30-round curved magazine for consistent ammunition feeding during rapid fire. Key specifications: Ammunition: 5.56x30mm INSAS (compatible with NATO-standard rounds) Effective Range: Up to 200 meters Weight: Approx. 3.3 kilograms Magazine: 30-round curved magazine Design Advantage: Compact form with short barrel for better manoeuvrability Step toward defence self-reliance The carbine represents India's ongoing efforts to strengthen indigenous defence production through collaboration between research institutions and private manufacturers. This development marks a step forward in meeting the Indian Armed Forces' long-standing requirement for a lightweight, efficient weapon system suited for modern combat environments. Wild golden Trump assault rifle with detachable pistol raises eyebrows at NRA meet
A specially made golden rifle honoring President Donald Trump is raising eyebrows after being showcased at the NRA Annual Meeting on Friday. The 154th NRA Annual Meetings & Exhibits is currently being held this week in Atlanta. The convention features over 14 acres of the latest guns and gear, seminars, workshops, and special events. One of the guns on display is a one-of-a-kind golden rifle embedded with Trump's name that can be broken down to turn into a pistol. The unique weapon is an ambidextrous nine millimeter Carbine. The rifle takes block magazines and has a quick release barrel. David Wolfe, business developer at New York-based gun manufacturer Just Right Carbines, was manning the booth where the gun was proudly displayed. The gun features the numbers 45 and 47, representing his presidencies, with stars around the numbers, as well as the presidential seal. "He's very second amendment oriented, and so we are very happy that he is our president again," Wolfe said. "So we decided to put together a model that people who also like Trump would be inspired to take a look at it and see what we're doing." "The second Amendment is not just about owning a gun to protect yourself from bad people, but it's actually was designed to be able to protect ourselves from our governments," he continued. The elaborate gun is not just unique in it's golden design but in how diverse it is. The user of the gun can form the gun any way they want, Wolfe said. That includes different grips, different stocks, and a different trigger if you please. The ambidextrous weapon also allows for you to put the charging handle either on the right side or the left side. "It's something that we take pride in doing and it's just not to be about money, it's about exercising a right and trying to educate." Trump has consistently emphasized his support for the Second Amendment, framing it as a fundamental right for Americans. During his first presidency, Trump received strong backing from the NRA, which praised his commitment to protecting gun rights. He has often spoken at NRA events and endorsed their positions. In 2017 at the NRA Convention, he said: "I will never, ever infringe on the right of the people to keep and bear arms. Never ever. We need that. The world is too dangerous." Roblox Has A Community Of Players Who Recreate School Shootings
A new report has exposed a 'true crime' community of Roblox players who reenact real-life murders. A part of this group is reportedly dedicated to digitally recreating and playing through famous school shootings within the extremely popular free-to-play game. On April 21, the Anti-Defamation League's Center on Extremism published a new report that goes in-depth on these digital school shooting games. The games, like nearly everything in Roblox, are created by users and shared online using Roblox's in-game tools and browser. Many of the most popular school shooting simulators are created by a group known as Active Shooter Studios or A.S.S. A.S.S has reportedly created Roblox maps and online games based on mass shootings like those that have happened at Uvalde, Parkland, and Columbine. One of the studio's most popular maps is 'Carbine,' a Roblox recreation of the 1999 Columbine high school massacre which took the lives of a dozen students and one teacher while injuring many more. In 'Carbine' players can take on the role of the shooters themselves and recreate the deadly shooting. As reported by the ADL, these maps aren't just simple pieces of geometry that mimic a real world location. Instead they are highly detailed and contain disturbing features. The report says that one Roblox experience created by A.S.S. which recreates the 2022 Uvalde shooting features NPCs that resemble children who will hide under desks and play dead when they hear gunfire. Most of the experiences created by the studio reportedly end when the police arrive. Players can then fight to the death or commit suicide. A.S.S. has struggled to keep their maps available in Roblox as the company removes them quickly when they are reported or get flagged by internal moderation tools. The studio, which boasts a Discord server containing over 500 members, has resorted to using private Roblox servers to host their games behind a paywall. The idea is that this makes it harder for Roblox Studio to find and remove the games, all of which reportedly break many of Roblox's community guidelines and rules. Bloomberg reports that Roblox has removed one of A.S.S's groups which contained over 800 players after it was contacted by the ADL. The outlet reports that one of the games it witnessed featured a mob of players in front of Columbine yelling the white supremacist phrase 'You will not replace us.' White supremacy plays a large part in the school shooting community on Roblox. As an example of how tricky it is to contain these types of disturbing games, Bloomberg reports that after Roblox removed the Columbine experience, a new mass shooting game from A.S.S appeared online. It reportedly quickly received over 1,00o visits before it was also removed. 'Because such games recreate extremist-related mass shootings—such as the 2022 Buffalo shooting, in which the perpetrator deliberately targeted and killed Black people—they may also serve as a gateway to extremist content,' warns the ADL in its report. 'Players might be prompted to seek out more information about these violent events, which can lead them to manifestos or videos created by the attackers. In some cases, they may also encounter content produced by accelerationist white supremacists, which glorifies these killers and aims to radicalize others to follow in their footsteps.' Roblox, Discord, and TikTok each told Bloomberg that they actively remove content focused on or glorifying extremists or violent crimes. Despite that, Kotaku was able to find numerous videos about 'Carbine' and other digital recreations of school shootings on these platforms. YouTube and Reddit, where some of this content can be found as well, declined to provide a comment to the outlet. Roblox has over 80 million active users logging on every day. Many are kids or teens. The company has received criticism in the past for failing to keep the platform safe as it grows bigger and bigger. It has also come under fire for allegedly exploiting the children who make most of the game's content. Roblox turns 20 years old next September. . For the latest news, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
