Arizona Cardinals' biggest question mark is at WR, says Pro Football Network
What is the Cardinals' biggest question mark in 2025? Let's see what PFN has to say. As we wait for the start of training camp in late July, we have time to contemplate all the questions we have about the teams we cheer for. What is the biggest question mark for the Arizona Cardinals? There are many, but Pro Football Network put together the biggest question mark for every NFL team, and they picked one that many would agree with for the Cardinals. Arizona Cardinals' biggest question mark entering 2025 PFN says it is the Cardinals' wide receiver group. Marvin Harrison Jr. didn't have a bad rookie season, but after falling short of 1,000 receiving yards, he didn't live up to expectations in his first season with the Arizona Cardinals. Aside from Harrison, Arizona's receiving corps could use some improvement. Michael Wilson is a solid complementary piece, but they don't have a star. With him, Zay Jones, and Greg Dortch competing for touches, one of them will need to take the next step. This is fair. They truly have two position groups that are questionable — receiver and inside linebacker. Now, the question goes deeper than just the position. There are some questions that we might be able to answer by the end of the season. While Harrison wasn't great, he did have good games. But his usage was questionable. There was zero effort to try and get him the ball quickly and let him make things happen. Wilson and Dortch have not yet cracked 600 yards in a season. Jones had eight whole catches. It is certainly the least sure position the Cardinals have on offense. 'I haven't seen a QB do that': Budda Baker goes on a praise parade for Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray
(Image via Getty: Budda Baker and Kyler Murray) On a 14-minute-long chat with Mina Kimes, a Senior Writer at ESPN and an Analyst on NFL Live, Budda Baker, a safety for the Arizona Cardinals, goes on a complimenting spree for his team's quarterback, Kyler Murray. He says that even though Murray's short(five-foot-ten), he makes a lot of throws inside and outside of the pocket. Budda also sheds light on one of his touchdowns against the San Francisco 49ers, 'Even like that 49ers game where in San Fran, he points up to the touchdown 40-50 yards away, knowing he was going to score! I haven't seen a QB do that. So, it's definitely exciting.' Budda Baker says Kyler Murray has kind of been in the bag this whole offseason Mina Kimes asked Budda Baker on The Mina Kimes Show, 'You've been with Kyler for four years now. You all are the only players really from the 2020 team. What would you say is the number one thing about Kyler Murray that people outside of the Cardinals' building do not know?' The 7-time Pro Bowler, Budda Baker, answered, 'Just the way that he goes about practice. He practices really hard. He dictates. He tells receivers what to do - how to do it because you can see after each and every play - he's communicating to his guys - okay if you were supposed to sit in that zone, sit in the zone. He's kind of been in his bag this whole offseason, doing no-look throws and having a great offseason training camp. So K1's, he's going to run a little bit more, a little outside the pocket, inside the pocket throws. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Villa For Sale in Dubai Might Surprise You Villas in Dubai | Search ads Learn More Undo He's kind of doing it all. He's going to get all his guys on the rock.' Budda Baker breaks down the Cardinals' scheme & gives the inside scoop on Kyler Murray 👀 Budda Baker calls Kyler Murray the most underrated quarterback in the NFL Mina Kimes nudged, 'Who would you say is the most underrated quarterback in the NFL?' The NFL Solo Tackles Leader, Budda Baker, responded, 'I would say K1 because we haven't had a lot of national games. People kind of see him as a short guy, but this guy can make all the throws inside the pocket, outside the pocket. He's quick. You see it on tape - he's outrunning everybody all the time. Even like that 49ers game where in San Fran, he points up to the touchdown 40-50 yards away, knowing he was going to score! I haven't seen a QB do that. So, it's definitely exciting. But it's cool to just lay under the weeds and have him be that underrated guy and just kinda show who he is this year and throughout the whole season.' Kyler Murray, once called a dual-threat quarterback, is now recovering from a torn ACL suffered in 2022. Nevertheless, that has not stopped Murray from being the dual threat that he is. On April 9, Murray told PHNX Sports, 'I don't want to get too scheme-based, but I do feel like I have to run more next year. I'm open to running more next year, just because it's such a weapon, you know, it's such a weapon.' Projected starting offense for Arizona Cardinals in 2025
Training camp starts in less than a month for the Cardinals, but here is their projected starting offense for now. The Arizona Cardinals will open training camp in just under a month and we will be able watch roster battles, position battles and starting battles. But even a month away from that, we can project what the starting lineup will look like, on both sides of the ball. While it is early, here are some early projections for the offense. Projected Arizona Cardinals starting lineup: Offense Quarterback: Kyler Murray This is no question. He is the unquestioned starter. Running back: James Conner While 2024 third-round pick Trey Benson believes he and Conner can be a combined pair of RB1s, Conner is still the starter. Benson's role should be greater, though, and Emari Demercado should be seen as their third-down back for now. Wide receiver: Marvin Harrison Jr., Michael Wilson (Zay Jones as WR3) The Cardinals' base offense is "12" personnel, or two receivers and two tight ends. Harrison and Wilson were the top two last year and nothing appears to have changed. When they go with three receivers, it was Jones getting more playing time at the end of the season instead of Greg Dortch. Why? Wilson was getting snaps in the slot, and that means three receivers at least 6-foot-2. Tight end: Trey McBride, Tip Reiman Elijah Higgins will play a lot, but Reiman played more snaps than Higgins, even as a rookie, Higgins is a versatile tight end, but Reiman is that traditional No. 2 blocking tight end. McBride is unquestionably the No. 1 TE. Offensive line: Paris Johnson, Evan Brown, Hjalte Froholdt, Isaiah Adams, Jonah Williams Four of the five were starters last year. Adams is the newcomer. Barring injury, the only real reason this might change is if the Cardinals bring back Will Hernandez, still a free agent and recovering from a torn ACL suffered in Week 5 last year.
