2 teens in critical condition after being electrocuted in abandoned Montreal building

Montreal Police say they were called to the building on Faillon Street, near Drolet Street in the Villeray-Saint-Michel-Parc-Extension borough, around 5:20 p.m. Saturday following the sounds of an explosion. A 16-year-old-girl and a 19-year-old man were unhurt and were arrested at the scene for break and enter. Police spokesperson Const. Caroline Chèvrefils says the teens allegedly broke into the building intending to steal things inside. 19-year-old man shot dead in Montreal North: 18th murder victim on the island in 2025
The 19-year-old man who was shot and wounded on Friday evening in the borough of Montreal North has succumbed to his injuries. Montreal police (SPVM) confirmed that it is the 18th murder on its territory since the beginning of the year and that the investigation has been assigned to the SPVM's Major Crimes Unit. Police were called to the scene at around 9:15 p.m. on Friday, near the intersection of Maurice-Duplessis Boulevard and Matte Avenue, where a person had been hit by at least one bullet. Upon arrival, they found the victim on the ground, explained SPVM spokesperson Caroline Chèvrefils. The young man, who had been shot in the upper body, was in critical condition when he was transported to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries during the night. According to initial reports, a suspect fired at the victim while he was in a vehicle. The suspect fled on foot before the police arrived. No arrests had been made as of Saturday morning, Chèvrefils said. A security perimeter was set up to protect the scene for investigators and forensic technicians. Man, 41, dies after stabbing in Montreal North

Police were called at 5 a.m. to the intersection of Charleroi Street and Lacordaire Boulevard after getting a 911 call about an armed assault. When police arrived on site, the victim 'was unconscious and wounded in the upper body with a sharp object,' said SPVM spokesperson Caroline Chèvrefils. He was sent to hospital in critical condition and succumbed to his injuries later in the day, Chèvrefils said Monday afternoon. Investigators from the Major Crime Unit are leading the investigation, which is still ongoing. Montreal police arrested a 40-year-old man at the scene who was expected to be questioned by officers later in the day. Police did not say whether any charges are expected to be laid. Police say the killing marks the 17th homicide of the year in Montreal.

Teenager hospitalized after being shot multiple times in Côte-Des-Neiges—Notre-Dame-De-Grâce

THE CANADIAN PRESS/Christinne Muschi A 17-year-old boy hit by multiple gunshots was sent to hospital Monday night, Montreal police say. Police said they received several 911 calls at around 6:30 p.m. reporting a person injured in a shooting near the intersection of Lacombe and Gatineau avenues in the city's Côte-Des-Neiges—Notre-Dame-De-Grâce borough. When officers arrived, they found the teen with injuries to his upper and lower body. He was conscious when he was sent to hospital. 'Despite his [serious] injuries we don't fear for his life,' said Caroline Chèvrefils, a police spokesperson. She said more than one suspect fled on foot in an unknown direction before officers arrived on scene. Police also observed bullet holes in two parked cars near the scene of the shooting and some shell casings on the ground. The canine unit was called in to assist investigators, who are also speaking with witnesses. No arrests have been made.

(Cosmo Santamaria/CTV News) A 34-year-old woman and her three-year-old son are dead after drowning in a residential swimming pool in Montreal's Lachine borough Tuesday night. First responders received a 911 call at 9:35 p.m. about the incident on 20e Avenue near Provost Street. 'They located two unresponsive persons,' said Caroline Chèvrefils, a spokesperson with Montreal police. 'Paramedics performed CPR on both the victims, but unfortunately, they were pronounced dead at the scene.' She adds that investigators determined that there was 'no criminal element' in the incident. 'It was an accident,' Chèvrefils affirmed. The file has been transferred to the coroner's office.
