West Lothian mum's heart-wrenching tribute for baby son who was born sleeping

The family of Carson Cooper, from Bathgate, have been left heartbroken after the delight of welcoming their new-born baby was taken from them in February. A West Lothian mum who is grieving the death of her stillborn baby has raised money to help other families going through similar experiences. ‌ The family of Carson Cooper, from Bathgate, have been left heartbroken after the delight of welcoming their new-born baby was taken from them in February. ‌ Carson was due to make his entrance to the world earlier this year but he was tragically born asleep at 37 weeks on February 20. ‌ Speaking on her tragic loss, mum Nadine Cooper, 33, has been working to raise money to purchase CuddleCot's to donate in memory of her son. She said if it wasn't for the CuddleCot - a cooling device that allows parents to spend extended time with their baby who has died - she wouldn't have been able to spend the precious days with her son in hospital. Nadine added: 'I hope my son is proud because they have been donated in his name. It's such a hard feeling to describe what it's like going through something like that. I set up the GoFundMe after I lost Carson because it was a distraction from everything going on. ‌ 'I lost Carson in February and I was 37 weeks at the time. You know situations like this happen but you don't think it will ever happen to you. 'At 37 weeks, you are planning for the arrival - not to give birth and know he's not alive. 'We were based at St John's and when I left the hospital, three families lost their child that week and they needed a CuddleCot to see their child. ‌ 'I saw people had donated CuddleCot's to other hospitals and I wanted to try do the same. I have managed to raise enough for two and we are just waiting for them to be delivered. 'We are just so grateful to everyone who has donated and helped us with this.' The fundraiser has collected over £5,000 and Nadine is glad to be able to help the hospital that were 'fantastic' to them throughout the devastating process. ‌ The mum-of-two is expecting a third child and is currently at 14 weeks. A description on the GoFundMe reads: 'If it wasn't for the CuddleCot, I wouldn't have been able to spend the precious days with my son in hospital. 'These CuddleCots are so important to many families and the NHS need more of them. ‌ 'The CuddleCot provides grieving families the opportunity to spend time with their loved ones without needing to cool the entire room. 'This time allows families to create precious memories, enables mothers to recover from medication side effects, make arrangements without feeling rushed, and gives family members the chance to visit—all while keeping their loved ones close by. 'The CuddleCot can gently cool a pre-term or full-term baby from day one thereby preserving their appearance, condition, and dignity. The CuddleCot is compatible with any cot or bassinet. 'If the target for two CuddleCots is not met, one will be purchased and the surplus money will be given to the hospital to help towards their special dedicated family room where we spent a few days.'

New offseason video shows Carson Cooper's continued improvement in three-point shot

It's the middle of the summer so live basketball content is not often available, but, thanks to the Moneyball Pro-Am, we get an inside look to how the Spartans are improving their games this offseason. For one Spartan big man, that apparently includes adding a three-point shot. Early this summer, fans began to speculate about Carson Cooper working to develop a three-point shot thanks to a social media post of the Spartans practicing. That speculation and fan interest has only grown after some of the most recent Moneyball Pro-Am games where Cooper has shown off a nice looking shot from deep. Thanks to Spartans Illustrated, a highlight video of Cooper and starting point guard Jeremy Fears Jr. has hit the social media timelines. In this video, we can see Cooper knocking down some threes -- which has not remotely been part of his game up to this point in his Michigan State career. At least during games, that is. Check out the clip of Cooper drilling some deep shots below: As we do with any Moneyball Pro-Am content, I will remind you that we can't put too much emphasis on what we get out of these exhibition games. In the past, that has burned us when we raised the bar too high on guys like Pierre Brooks III and Lourawls "Tum Tum" Nairn Jr. But, with that being said, Cooper's shot looks pretty nice from the video clip seen above, so... maybe this is actually something we should be monitoring for this fall. Cooper has only taken one three-point shot attempt in a game since coming to Michigan State -- which was a miss. So I'm not going to act like this is the beginning of a sharp shooting big man for the Spartans. But let's just file this away as further evidence of potentially a new part of Cooper's game coming our way this season. And, should it actually turn into something we consistently see, then that would go a long way for Cooper and the Spartans this year. Fans speculate Carson Cooper is working on new part of game following recent social media post

Fans speculate Carson Cooper is working on new part of game following recent social media post Could Michigan State big man Carson Cooper be working on adding a new element to his game this offseason? Fans are speculating that to be the case following a recent photo shared by the Spartans' official social media account. Michigan State basketball is conducting offseason workouts this week, which obviously led to a few social media posts from the program's official X account. Included in one of those posts was a picture that shows Cooper lining up for a shot from behind the three-point line. This single image has generated some buzz on social media, with multiple fans responding with speculation that Cooper is working on developing a three-point shot this offseason. You can see the post from Michigan State showing what appears to be Cooper preparing for a three-point shot below: Could this be something or is it nothing? Well, this picture alone is probably nothing since every basketball player practices shots from all over the floor. So this could simply be a pure coincidence that the social media team picked a picture of Cooper in this one instance. But, it's definitely more fun and intriguing to speculate that this is the beginning of a new part of Cooper's game. You can't argue against that. For reference, Cooper has recorded only one three-point attempt in his three previous seasons at Michigan State -- which he missed this past year. So should he actually add a more frequent three-point shot to his game, that would be quite the change from what we have previously seen. For now, we can back-burner this thought. But when we get our first look at the Spartans in the fall, this will be something I personally will keep an eye out for when Cooper and Michigan State take the court for the first time.
