Fans speculate Carson Cooper is working on new part of game following recent social media post
Could Michigan State big man Carson Cooper be working on adding a new element to his game this offseason? Fans are speculating that to be the case following a recent photo shared by the Spartans' official social media account.
Michigan State basketball is conducting offseason workouts this week, which obviously led to a few social media posts from the program's official X account. Included in one of those posts was a picture that shows Cooper lining up for a shot from behind the three-point line. This single image has generated some buzz on social media, with multiple fans responding with speculation that Cooper is working on developing a three-point shot this offseason.
You can see the post from Michigan State showing what appears to be Cooper preparing for a three-point shot below:
Could this be something or is it nothing? Well, this picture alone is probably nothing since every basketball player practices shots from all over the floor. So this could simply be a pure coincidence that the social media team picked a picture of Cooper in this one instance. But, it's definitely more fun and intriguing to speculate that this is the beginning of a new part of Cooper's game. You can't argue against that.
For reference, Cooper has recorded only one three-point attempt in his three previous seasons at Michigan State -- which he missed this past year. So should he actually add a more frequent three-point shot to his game, that would be quite the change from what we have previously seen.
For now, we can back-burner this thought. But when we get our first look at the Spartans in the fall, this will be something I personally will keep an eye out for when Cooper and Michigan State take the court for the first time.

Top Alabama 2026 in-state target announces official commitment decision
A commitment decision has now officially come from top Alabama Crimson Tide target Anthony "Tank" Jones. Announced on Thursday, Jones has officially committed to the Oregon Ducks, choosing the Big Ten program over both Alabama and Texas A&M. At the moment, Jones is currently considered as the nation's No. 18 overall prospect, according to the 247Sports Composite rankings, as well as the No. 4 edge rusher nationally. A five-star prospect, Jones also ranks as the No. 1 overall player in the state of Alabama where he attends St. Paul's Episcopal School. Following the commitment of Jones to Oregon, Alabama's 2026 class still ranks No. 4 nationally, per 247Sports, with 21 total commits. 2026 5-star Edge commits to Big Ten program over Texas A&M
BREAKING: Five-Star EDGE Anthony 'Tank' Jones has Committed to Oregon, he tells me for @rivalsThe 6'4 255 EDGE from Mobile, AL chose the Ducks over Alabama & Texas A&M'Bama 2 Eugene ScoooDucks' Texas A&M's pursuit of 2026 five-star edge Anthony "Tank" Jones has not ended, but did take a significant hit after the Alabama native committed to Oregon on Thursday afternoon, choosing the Ducks over the Aggies and Alabama live on The Pat McAfee Show. After losing five-star edge Richard Wesley, who committed to Texas earlier this month, Oregon was desperate to land an elite future pass rusher, and likely threw out all the stops, especially financially, to get the job done. For Texas A&M, the Aggies are in very good shape wth five-star edge prospects Tristian Givens and Bryce Perry-Wright, combined with four-star prospects Jordan Carter and Samu Moala already committed in the class. Still, missing out on any priority prospect is disappointing, knowing that Jones was predicted to choose Texas A&M earlier this summer before Oregon made its final pitch. Again, what head coach Mike Elko and defensive line coaches Tony Jerod-Eddie and Sean Spencer have accomplished this summer on the recruiting trail is nothing short of incredible, more than solidifying the Aggies' future pass rush rotation. According to Rivals, Jones is currently positioned as the 22nd-ranked prospect in the 2026 class, the 4th-ranked edge, and the No. 1-ranked prospect in Alabama. Bill Belichick reveals key details about taking New England Patriots coaching job in 2000
Believe it or not, Bill Belichick wasn't always a winning head coach. Infact, during his first head coaching gig with the Cleveland Browns from 1991-1995, he compiled a losing record and just one playoff appearance. Belichick took over for the New England Patriots in 2000, with his storied history in Foxborough speaking for itself: six Super Bowl titles, 17 AFC East titles and coaching some guy named Tom Brady. Belichick parted ways in New England after the 2023-2024 NFL season – and is now leading your North Carolina Tar Heels. On Wednesday, Robert Kraft said he took a big risk by hiring Belichick back in 1999. Belichick immediately clapped back at his former boss, telling ESPN he took a big risk by joining a then-sorry franchise. "As I told Robert multiple times through the years, I took a big risk by taking the New England Patriots head coaching job," Belichick said. "I already had an opportunity to be the Head Coach of the New York Jets, but the ownership situation was unstable." New England wasn't a perennial Super Bowl contender when Belichick took over, but it wasn't exactly the loser it has been since 2022. The Patriots made three consecutive NFL postseason appearances from 1996-1998, losing Super Bowl XXXI to the Green Bay Packers, but missed the playoffs two straight seasons before bringing Belichick in. You could also say that UNC took a big risk hiring Belichick, who has yet to coach at the college level. Belichick will be leading young men largely aged 18-21, instead of adults anywhere from 22 to their 40s, but is proving to be a great offseason coach via the transfer portal and high school recruiting. Now, we await the on-field results of North Carolina's first season under Belichick. Will Bubba Cunningham's "big risk" pay off?
