Brendan Rodgers in Hatate and Carter-Vickers injury update
The former missed the final two games of last season through injury, while reports have suggested that Carter-Vickers could be in line for a spell on the sidelines. Rodgers recently moved to clear up any points of uncertainty: "Cam had some issues around the end of last season," he said [SunSport]. "But we decided this was really important for him and he needed that to get the operation. Read more: "We knew then the recovery time would mean he'd miss a week. "But he's back working again and, hopefully, [will] be ready for the next few weeks. "With Reo, was just a shame for him. He's had a few extra few days but he'll come back in and he'll be fine." Rodgers also confirmed that veteran winger James Forrest will be fit to travel to Ireland for Celtic's upcoming pre-season friendly against Cork City on Tuesday. It comes after the Scottish Premiership champions defeated Queen's Park by a goal to nil on Friday, as Johnny Kenny's first-half strike proved the difference between the sides.

Carter Vickers Celtic injury latest as star sees recovery timeline set after surgery
The USA international went under the knife to solve a knee issue during the summer and has been training on his own at LXT Cameron Carter-Vickers is on course to be fit for the start of the coming campaign despite undergoing knee surgery earlier this summer. Record Sport revealed earlier this week that the American international has been left to train on his own at the club's Lennoxtown HQ while boss Brendan Rodgers has been putting the rest of his team mates through their pre-season paces. That sparked concern that Carter-Vickers might be facing another stretch on the sidelines after struggling with a long-term cartilage issue. But now we can confirm that Celtic's 27-year-old defensive linchpin did indeed go under the knife for what is being described as a 'tidy up' operation. Carter-Vickers was instructed by the club's medics to withdraw from the US international squad for a packed summer schedule of friendlies and Concacaf Gold Cup clashes, which concludes next week with a tie against Mexico. That decision was made at a time when Rangers were allowing John Souttar to delay hernia surgery to join up with Scotland for end of bounce matches against Iceland and Liechtenstein. Souttar is now racing against the clock to be fit in time for a Champions League qualifier against Panathinaikos on July 22. But, although Carter-Vickers is not yet ready to rejoin his team mates in full training and will not feature in the club's first pre-season friendly against Queens Park on Friday night or travel to Ireland to face Cork next week, Rodgers is confident of having his star defender back with the squad in days rather than weeks, A source said: 'Cameron had the issue at the end of last season so he was taken out of the internationals to have the problem cleared up. He is just about ready to begin training again.' The Celtic transfer stance of Cameron Carter Vickers made clear amid 49ers Leeds United link
Leeds United, Sunderland and West Ham United have all been credited with an interest in the US centre-back Celtic remain relaxed and confident of keeping hold of Cameron Carter-Vickers despite mounting speculation the San Francisco 49ers hope to lure him to Leeds United. Reports from south of the border insist the newly promoted Elland Road outfit - and its Rangers linked owners - are set to battle it out with Sunderland for the 27-year-old USA international. Both clubs are gearing up for a return to the English top flight and are understood to be in the market for key defensive recruitments with the transfer window reopen for the summer. Speculation has been swirling that Carter-Vickers has already been identified as a priority target with West Ham also reported to have shown interest in the former Spurs stopper. But Record Sport understands there has been no contact made with the Parkhead club and that manager Brendan Rodgers is unaware of any moves to deprive him of his star centre half before the start of the coming campaign. The Celtic board are also believed to be somewhat bemused by reports of an imminent bidding war for Carter-Vickers who has provided a rock like presence at the heart of a championship winning defence since moving north from London four years ago. Carter-Vickers spent an initial season on loan in Glasgow's east end before sealing a permanent move the following summer in a deal worth around £6m. HIs advisers declined to comment when approached by Record Sport but Carter-Vickers is believed to be happy and settled in Scotland and has four more years left to run on his current contract. Meanwhile, the future of winger Nicolas Kuhn is the subject of some doubt with his former club RB Leipzig believed to be one of a number of Bundesliga outfits currently considering offering him a return to Germany's top flight. Kuhn signed for Celtic 18 months ago in a £3m deal with Rapid Vienna and starred in this season's Champions League, scoring twice against Leipzig in a 3-1 group stage win at Parkhead and also netting against Bayern Munich in the knock-out stages as Rodgers came within seconds of masterminding a stunning victory at the Allianz.

Carter-Vickers reveals story behind '119' darts banner
After Celtic won the Premier Sports Cup in December by beating Rangers on penalties, some members of the squad travelled down south to take in the World Championships at the Alexandra Palace. The likes of Welsh, Liam Scales, Greg Taylor, Arne Engels and Carter-Vickers were all pictured in attendance. Read more: Indeed, a photo of the latter holding a banner that read '119' went viral on social media at the time. 119 was, of course, a nod to Celtic securing 119 trophies by beating Rangers and moving one ahead of their fierce city rivals in the silverware count. "I didn't actually write it, it was written by Stephen Welsh, I was thrown under the bus," said Carter-Vickers. "I was the stupid one to pick it up and hold it up. "I think this year I'd better [watch] how much I drink, make sure there's no more pictures or videos. "To be honest, I think when you do win something, you have to enjoy it with the team and the people that you've done it with, because that's one of the reasons we do it, so you have moments like that that you can create memories that will last with you." When Celtic won the league title last season, a video of Carter-Vickers in Glasgow's Wunderbar gained traction online. He exclaimed, 'Unlucky Rangers, three-in-a-row!', recreating Aiden McGeady's famous clip from 2008. The American will be fully focused on trying to win a treble today as Celtic face Aberdeen in the Scottish Cup final at Hampden.
