WisdomTree to Acquire Ceres Partners, Premier U.S. Farmland Investment Manager and Family Farmer Partner
NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--WisdomTree, Inc. (NYSE: WT), a global financial innovator, announced today that it entered into a definitive agreement to acquire Ceres Partners, LLC, a leading U.S.-based alternative asset manager specializing in farmland investments. This transaction marks WisdomTree's entry into the private asset markets—starting with real estate and specifically farmland—and positions WisdomTree as a category leader. Additionally, the Ceres farmland platform benefits from opportunities in strategic adjacencies in demand for solar, AI data infrastructure and water that are expected to drive faster growth. The acquisition delivers immediate scale and long-term upside, bringing approximately $1.85 billion in assets under management across approximately 545 U.S. farmland properties spanning 12 states, predominantly in the Midwest. Ceres has a strong track record of performance, having delivered a 10.3% net average annual total return since its inception in 2007—outperforming farmland benchmarks. With farmland recognized as one of the largest and most underpenetrated real asset classes in the U.S., WisdomTree believes there is significant opportunity for growth. The asset class historically provides resilient, inflation-protected returns and is largely uncorrelated to traditional equity and bond markets. As demand accelerates for income-generating, inflation-hedged private investments, this transaction well positions WisdomTree to offer differentiated access on an institutional scale. Farmland prices and asset values rose in the U.S. in all but nine years since World War II, and Ceres represents a value-added platform in a category that has the fundamentals for greater advisor and institutional adoption. 'Farmland is one of the largest yet most underpenetrated real asset classes in the U.S., offering both scale and scarcity,' said Jonathan Steinberg, WisdomTree Founder and CEO. 'This acquisition expands our leadership in innovative, income-generating investment solutions, while strategically accelerating our entry into private asset markets with a high-quality, scalable platform. It reflects our commitment to delivering differentiated exposures that drive long-term value for clients and stockholders alike. This strategic acquisition now positions WisdomTree to capitalize on the most significant structural growth opportunities in wealth and asset management today: ETPs, private markets, managed models and tokenization.' Perry Vieth, Founder and CEO, Ceres Partners, said, 'We are proud of Ceres' long-standing partnerships and legacy with farmers. Joining forces with WisdomTree marks an exciting new chapter for Ceres. For nearly two decades, we've built a differentiated farmland investment platform rooted in performance, operational expertise and a deep understanding of U.S. agricultural markets. This partnership brings product innovation, scale and distribution that will allow us to reach more investors seeking resilient, inflation-hedged and income-generating real assets. Together, we are uniquely positioned to capitalize on the next wave of growth in farmland —including solar, AI data infrastructure and water—with a shared commitment to innovation and long-term value creation.' 2030 Strategic Goals Raise over $750 million in farmland assets by year-end 2030 with fee structures approximating 1% base / 20% performance Double base fee revenue by year-end 2030 Grow performance fee revenue by 1.5x–2x, assuming continued historical return levels Accelerate WisdomTree's overall margin expansion trajectory Key Transaction Terms $275 million upfront cash consideration payable at closing, subject to customary adjustments Up to $225 million earn-out consideration payable in 2030, contingent on compound annual revenue growth of 12–22% measured over five years Subject to approvals, financing and other customary closing conditions, the transaction is expected to close in Q4 2025 This transaction solidifies Ceres as a cornerstone of WisdomTree's long-term strategy to build the next-generation asset management platform—one that blends structural growth sectors, innovative delivery and a future-ready product suite. Together with existing strengths in ETPs, managed models and tokenization, WisdomTree will offer clients institutional access to a highly differentiated set of exposures across both public and private markets. WisdomTree will discuss the acquisition in further detail during its Q2 2025 earnings call on August 1, 2025 at 12:00 pm ET. Explosive device found in Ceres home during probation compliance check, police say
An explosive device was located during a probation compliance check in Ceres on Tuesday afternoon, police said on Wednesday. Stanislaus County probation officers were conducting a probation compliance check around 2:15 p.m. at a home on the 3900 block of Blaker Road. While searching the home, police said the officers located a suspected explosive device inside. This prompted the Ceres Police Department to respond to the scene. They said they immediately evacuated nearby homes and closed several roads. The Stanislaus County Sheriff's Office bomb squad responded to the scene and confirmed the device was explosive. The device was removed from the home and taken to a secure location where police said it was rendered safe. The suspect, 45-year-old Janmichael Valdez of Ceres, was arrested at the scene for possession of an explosive device, police said.

Ceres Pizza
Yes, we're all tired of standing in line for the hottest new food in NYC. And yet, here we are, still waiting under the blazing sun for the chance to score a pie from the new pizza shop Ceres. After a buzzy opening due to the quality of the slices and the pedigree of the chefs (how often do Eleven Madison Park alums open a slice shop?), a nod from Dave Portnoy's viral pizza reviews and a shout-out from Jimmy Fallon made it nearly impossible to get your hands on a pie. Now that the folks at Ceres have become more accustomed to being the belle of the pizza ball, they've got a good system for slinging 'em out from their tiny oven on Mott Street. You'll have to show up hours before you're ready to eat (they open at 11:30am), wait for your chance to put your name down inside their frills-free shop, and then wait…again. The menu is limited, but you'll just have to trust the process. Go for the white pie, topped with crème fraîche, sweet onions and salty, buttery pancetta, and then covered with a celebratory handful of chive confetti. The cheese, too, is a classic, but never plain, packed with San Marzano tomatoes and firm, fresh scamorza and then finished with half-melted, sharp-ish cheese and pocked with little burnt bubbles from the oven's heat. Every pie is served on top of a crust inspired by the crispy-crunchy, airy-chewy joy of baguettes. Pie prices can soar to $60—the 'nduja, made with pork, burrata and aged balsamic for a spicy-and-sweet bite, is the spendiest—so be prepared for a little sticker shock. Then again, the 'Mommy's Little Meatball' shirts at the shop down the street cost half that, and you'll get a whole lot more use out of the memory of a Ceres slice.

San Angelo city council approves $1 million task force for debris clean up
The San Angelo city council approved $1 million for a task order with Ceres Environmental to haul away flood debris. In a special meeting held by the city council on July 10, Shane Kelton, executive director of public works with the city, asked the council to consider approving Emergency Debris Collection Task Order 1 with Ceres Environmental for an amount not to exceed $1 million sourced from the Solid Waste fund balance. The task order allows Ceres Environmental to begin debris removal services under the contract the city already has with the company. Kelton said the cost may not exceed $1 million. The amount was based off the numbers the city had on Thursday. He said 1,520 iSTAT Damage Surveys were submitted, 705 homes had minor damage, 463 with major damage and 58 homes were considered a total loss. "This is also based on what this company has seen so far in other locations," Kelton said. "If they don't haul that much, they don't charge us." Kelton said this week, city crews will be around town helping citizens get ready for Ceres' arrival. "We will be out there with citizens working with them to make sure they are prepared and ready as they get here, so we can follow the FEMA guidelines that have been laid out, so that we would have the ability to seek any relief that they may allow for us," he said. Kelton said Ceres will begin mobilizing crews to come to San Angelo sometime this week. "We want to give everyone time to make sure they are able to muck and gut and get stuff out to the curb," he said. "We don't want to start too soon because with a debris removal company, they are only going to make two or possibly three passes in San Angelo." Kelton wanted to remind residents to keep their piles separated on the curb. He said there should be all separate piles for the following. Construction debris: flooring, carpet, furniture, etc. Electronics: TV's, computers, etc. Appliances: refrigerators, washers and dryers Brush: trees, large branches Kelton asked for household hazardous waste to be seperated to be picked up at a later time within 30 days, including oil, gas, fuels and cleaning supplies. The city also approved $350,000 for a contract with True North Emergency Management, LLC. "Ceres requires a third-party monitoring firm that watches everything as they are loading the product from the curb and into the truck and at the landfill," Kelton said. "This is a FEMA guideline requirement for us to be able to seek any assistance available to us." Kelton also mentioned the assistance available to citizens needing help with clean up. "If people are physically unable to or don't have the manpower to clean, we have assistance that is free of charge to utilize," he said. "We don't want people living in dangerous situations." If you need cleanup assistance, mold remediation or debris sorting on your property, fill out this form.
