Oklahoma Sooners projected to land four-star athlete out of Missouri

The Oklahoma Sooners are trending in a positive direction for a talented two-way player out of the state of Missouri, Jacob Eberhart. On Wednesday evening, Rivals national recruiting analyst Greg Smith issued a Futurecast favoring the Sooners for the four-star. Eberhart was on campus with the Oklahoma Sooners for the ChampU BBQ and also took official visits with Nebraska and Missouri this summer. He also holds offers from several SEC schools, including Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, LSU, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Texas A&M, and Vanderbilt. He's a talented athlete who plays on both sides of the ball at Kirkwood but is expected to play defense for the Sooners. Eberhart has good size and could contribute at safety, cheetah, or linebacker in Brent Venables' defense. If the Sooners are able to beat out Nebraska and Missouri, he'd be the second prospect from the state of Missouri to join OU's 2026 recruiting class, following the commitment from running back DeZephen Walker. Oklahoma Sooners projected to land 4-star OT out of Colorado

The Oklahoma Sooners have been building momentum in the 2026 recruiting class, picking up several commitments over the last week, headlined by last Friday's commitment from four-star quarterback Bowe Bentley. The Sooners have also picked up pledges from kicker Trace Rudd, linebacker Beau Jandreau, and defensive end Daniel Norman following the ChampU BBQ. But Oklahoma may be on the verge of adding some more offensive help in the class. The Sooners were projected to land four-star offensive tackle Deacon Schmitt by Josh McCuistion of SoonerScoop and On3 on Wednesday evening. Schmitt is considered the No. 1 player in the state of Colorado by On3 and is considered the No. 19 offensive tackle in the class by ESPN. He currently holds offers from 21 Power Four schools, including seven SEC schools. Schmitt took official visits with Alabama, Oklahoma, USC, Tennessee, and Nebraska and will announce his commitment on Saturday June 28. He's down to three schools, Oklahoma, Colorado, and Alabama and it looks like the Sooners are the favorites to win his commitment. The Sooners currently have just one offensive lineman committed in the 2026 cycle, interior offensive lineman Noah Best. Adding a talent like Schmitt gives the Sooners another blue-chip offensive lineman, and in Schmitt, someone who can play on the inside at guard or continue to develop his game at offensive tackle. Oklahoma Sooners projected to land elite defensive end prospect Jake Kreul

The Oklahoma Sooners have been making noise on the recruiting trail over the last several week, picking up several commitments over the last few days in the 2026 recruiting class. On Monday they added three-star linebacker Beau Jandreau and four-star defensive end Daniel Norman. And now they may be close to locking up another talented defender. On Tuesday evening, On3's vice president of recruiting and transfer portal Steve Wiltfong issued a prediction favoring the Sooners for defensive end Jake Kreul. Kreul is considered a five-star player in the 2026 cycle by ESPN and a four-star prospect by Rivals, On3, and 247Sports. Kreul was just in town for an official visit during the ChampU BBQ and it looks like the Sooners have moved the needle. He's a consensus top 100 player in the class and a top-15 EDGE in the cycle. Also notable was a prediction flip on Tuesday night from Orangebloods and Rivals recruiting analyst Cody Carpentier, who switched his projection from Florida to the Oklahoma Sooners. Kreul is one of the elite prospects in the 2026 cycle, showing a technical refinement to his game. Locked On's recruiting analyst Brian Smith called Kreul "the most technically advanced high school edge rusher" he's ever seen. The IMG Academy has an elite offer sheet from a total of 36 Power Four schools, which includes Oklahoma, Texas, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Florida, and many more. And you can see why. He's an excellent pass rusher with a motor to match. He can win with speed, power, or by utilizing his technique to get by offensive tackles. Though Oklahoma still has to lock up his commitment and get him signed as the elite recruiting programs continue to push for Kreul's services, the Sooners have put themselves in a position to land a day-one contributor in Jake Kreul. Linebacker Beau Jandreau commits to the Oklahoma Sooners

The Oklahoma Sooners added another defensive star in the 2026 recruiting class on Monday, earning a commitment from three-star linebacker Beau Jandreau. Jandreau chose the Sooners over a number of Power Four offers from across the country. Beau is the second Jandreau to join the Sooners in the 2026 cycle. His brother Niko, a safety, committed to Oklahoma back in May. The Arizona native is considered the No. 37 linebacker in the class by Rivals and the No. 7 player in the state of Arizona. A fast and physical linebacker, Jandreau chose Oklahoma over offers from USC, Texas, Tennessee, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, Cal, Kansas State, Missouri, Minnesota, Nebraska, and Notre Dame. Over the last month, Jandreau took trips to Oregon State, Texas, and Oregon before culminating his series of official visits with the Sooners for ChampU BBQ. In Norman, the Sooners hit the high notes, and Jandreau was impressed by Brent Venables' plan for Oklahoma's defense. Beau Jandreau is quick to diagnose what the offense is doing in front of him and gets downhill in a hurry. He plays with great speed and arrives to the ball carrier with force. Jandreau is the 11th player committed to the Oklahoma Sooners in the cycle and the second linebacker, along with Arkansas native Jakore Smith. The Sooners are putting together a fast and physical group of defenders in the cycle, and Jandreau is the latest difference maker added by Brent Venables, Jim Nagy, Nate Dreiling, Wes Goodwin, and the Oklahoma Sooners. Oklahoma Sooners earn commitment from Kicker Trace Rudd

The Oklahoma Sooners have made an effort to improve their kicking game through the 2026 recruiting class, going all-in on kicker Trace Rudd from Overland Park, Kansas. The Sooners hosted Rudd for an official visit during the ChampU BBQ and their efforts have paid dividends. Rudd announced his commitment on Saturday to the Oklahoma Sooners. He said, "Sooner Nation, I am home and 100% committed. Unforgettable moment for me." He went on to thank Brent Venables, special teams coach Doug Deakin, and general manager Jim Nagy saying, "thank you... for believing in me and giving me this opportunity." He's considered a five-star kicker by Kohl's Kicking and is the No. 27 place kicker in the 2026 recruiting class. He has quick hips and creates explosive power on his contact. He is quickly developing into one of the top field goal kickers in the country. - Kohl's Kicking Given the low margin for error in the SEC, placing a high priority on landing a top-flight kicker is critical. With how good the Sooners defense will be under Venables, Oklahoma needs to shine on special teams and the addition of Rudd, who also had an offer from Texas Tech, gives them a chance to improve their kicking situation.
