Updated Big 12 football 2026 team recruiting rankings (July 20)
The class of 2026 recruiting cycle, along with most of the college football world, is in the quietest part of its offseason. July sees minimal movement on the recruiting front, with only a few commitments here and there. Additionally, aside from Big 12 media days, no team-organized activities are taking place. Season preparations will intensify towards the end of the month as players return to campus to prepare for fall camp. That makes now the ideal time to take a late-July look at the Big 12 team recruiting rankings for the class of 2026. The rankings have shifted significantly since we last updated the list in early July. If you're interested in seeing the team rankings by average player rating, we have those for you as well. Where Colorado ranks as the best campus in the Big 12 according to College Football 26
College Football 26 came out last week, and hopefully, everyone is diving into another installment of the most popular sports video game in the past two years. Whether you're a dynasty mode diehard or excited to take an unheralded recruit to glory in the game, it has everything. We have already examined Colorado's top-ranked players, as well as how the team's overall ratings compare in various modes. Now let's go a little deeper. If you take over Colorado in a dynasty save, you will need to recruit to contend, and that starts with knowing what the Buffs do well and what could be improved. One grade that recruits will assuredly care about is campus lifestyle. Student athletes sometimes spend five years living in a place, so they want it to feel like home. Everyone loves Boulder, Colorado, and the campus, right? Here is how EA Sports grades Colorado's campus lifestyle in College Football 26 Colorado's College Football 26 campus lifestyle grade EA Sports gives Colorado an "A-" grade for its campus lifestyle. A solid grade that hopefully factored in the tremendous views of the Flatiron mountains and the many places for students to hang out along Pearl Street. Where does Colorado's campus lifestyle grade rank within the Big 12 If you're trying to win in recruiting, you have to beat out your rivals for top talent. It helps to have a better campus lifestyle grade than other Big 12 schools if you want to lure certain recruits to your school. So, where does Colorado's "A-" grade rank among the other Big 12 schools? Colorado, with its "A-" grade, performs exceptionally well compared to the rest of the Big 12, ranking second in the entire conference. Arizona State owns the best campus lifestyle grade, and its "A+" mark is tied for first with six other schools. The Tempe versus Boulder debate can rage on, but both schools offer multiple ways to spend time in between game weekends. Follow Charlie Strella on X, Threads and Instagram. Big 12 reveals 2025-26 basketball schedule matrix featuring tough Colorado opponents
Big 12 reveals 2025-26 basketball schedule matrix featuring tough Colorado opponents The Big 12 announced the conference scheduling matrix for the 2025-26 men's basketball season Thursday morning. For the upcoming season, each program will have a home-and-home series with three conference opponents and face the other 12 Big 12 teams once, with six games at home and six on the road, for an 18-game Big 12 schedule, which is two fewer than last year. The matrix produces the most balanced schedule, taking into account both travel and competitiveness. A schedule with dates and times will be announced closer to the start of the regular season. Seven of Colorado's nine home opponents were postseason teams in 2024-25. The Buffs will host top programs like Arizona and Kansas a single time, while Kansas State, Oklahoma State, TCU and UCF will also make the trek to Boulder. Colorado's home-and-home series opponents will be Arizona State, Utah and Texas Tech, who were Elite Eight participants last season. The Buffs have some challenging Big 12 road games this year, traveling to BYU, who have the No. 1 overall recruit A.J. Dybansta and NCAA runner-up Houston. Single away games against Cincinnati, Baylor, West Virginia and Iowa State are also on the schedule. While we are still a ways away from tipping off the college basketball season, if you're itching for some fun basketball content, you can check out our updated Big 12 basketball uniform rankings. An early look at the Big 12 football recruiting rankings for the class of 2026
An early look at the Big 12 football recruiting rankings for the class of 2026 With spring games and summer fast approaching, the class of 2026 recruiting cycle is about to heat up. The Big 12 only had one team land a top-25 class last recruiting cycle, with TCU coming in at No. 24 on 247Sports Composite. Kansas State, Baylor, Colorado and Utah all came in the top 40. The conference does not feature many recruiting powerhouses like the SEC or Big Ten, with most teams hovering around the No. 50 ranked recruiting class instead of vying for a top-25 class. It is still extremely early in the 2026 cycle, but one Big 12 team is in the top five of the national rankings. The team might surprise many, but it is definitely on an upward trajectory. Colorado is, interestingly enough, the only team without a commitment in its 2026 class. Expect that to change this month, with recruits committing soon after the Buffaloes' April 19 spring game. Otherwise, there isn't much to take away from programs like Kansas State and Utah sitting near last place in the rankings, as some schools like the Buffs have yet to start putting a class together. These updates will be far more critical come the summer when programs expect more commitments. With the acknowledgment that these rankings will quickly change, here is an early glimpse at the Big 12 class of 2026 team recruiting rankings as determined by 247Sports: 1.
