Mukesh Chhabra , known for casting roles in films like Gangs of Wasseypur , Dangal , and Chhichhore, has been eliminated from the Indian reality show The Traitors . The show, hosted by Karan Johar , is known for its strategic twists and psychological turns. Mukesh, also the director of Dil Bechara , was recently voted out, making him one of the latest contestants to exit the competition. From behind the scenes to centre stage Mukesh Chhabra has worked behind the scenes for years in the Hindi film industry. As a casting director, he has helped discover new talent and build strong ensembles for major films. In 2020, he directed Dil Bechara, the last film of actor Sushant Singh Rajput. Stepping into a new role, Mukesh joined The Traitors, a reality show that requires players to detect betrayal and deception among themselves. His exit from the show offered a moment of reflection, both on-screen and off-screen. 'You really can't trust anyone' Speaking to ETimes after his elimination, Mukesh said the experience left a lasting impact. 'One of my biggest learnings from the show is that you really can't trust anyone—not even the people you eat, sit, or roam around with,' he said. 'You never know who's actually betraying you or who the real traitor is.' Live Events When asked if this applied to real life, Mukesh shared a personal story from the time he was directing Dil Bechara. 'In real life, I've felt betrayed many times,' he said. 'But one instance that really hurt was during Dil Bechara. I had entrusted one of my casting assistants to look after my company while I was away making the film. When I returned, I found he had taken away all my data and secretly opened his own casting company. I was shocked. I had literally groomed that child in front of me. It felt like a stab in the back.' Willing to return if called back Despite the emotional experience and early exit, Mukesh says he would be ready to return to The Traitors. '100%! Now I know how to play the game,' he said. His time on the show, while short, became a chance to confront past experiences of betrayal and reflect on trust and human behaviour. Jaideep Ahlawat shares why he turned down Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana
Actor Jaideep Ahlawat recently recalled backing out of Nitesh Tiwari's 'Ramayana'. The actor admitted that despite being offered Vibhishan's role in the epic-drama, he had to turn it down due to his schedule clashing with actor in a recent interview with India Today's sister channel, The Lallantop, mentioned that it was not possible to work out his dates with Yash. He said, "Offer hua tha. Par timing match nahi ho rahi thi (The role was offered to me, but the timings did not match)."advertisement"I think Yash kar rahe hain, KGF waale. Kajol Aggarwal has also joined the cast as Raavan's wife Mandodari. Box Office Trends: Sitaare Zameen Par set for an EXCELLENT jump on second day; Aamir Khan starrer gains momentum
After opening at Rs 10.50 crore on Friday, the Aamir Khan led Sitaare Zameen Par is showing a solid jump in business on the second day. According to very early trends, the film is looking at a 80 percent jump in collections on Saturday, with business expected to be in the range of Rs 18.50 crore to Rs 19.50 crore. There is an outside chance of hitting the Rs 20 crore mark too, but that would depend on how far the occupancies go towards the evening and night shows. As on 3 PM on Saturday, Sitaare Zameen Par has collected Rs 7.90 crore on Saturday, showcasing a 100 percent jump over Friday. For those unaware, the collections in the national chains on Friday at 3 PM stood at Rs 3.80 crore. The figures include advances for evening and night shows, which means that the final jump could settle in the range 80 percent. There is a chance of the film retaining the same jump too, as there are enough shows and screens for it to explode in the evening shows. The Saturday jump puts Sitaare Zameen Par in a very strong spot to emerge a success, and on track for an opening weekend in the vicinity of Rs 55 crore. The jump also indicates appreciation in the cinema-going audience, and again brings to notice the importance of genuinely good cinema in the post pandemic world. The presence of a superstar like Aamir Khan is pushing the word of mouth faster, and taking the film to a wider than usual audience for the genre, which is also reflecting in the business. A jump in the vicinity of 80 to 100 percent is there in non-national chains like Rajhans and MovieMax too, and this is a positive sign for the film to record a trend in the long run. An urban film usually sees a jump in the vicinity of 50 to 60 percent, but Sitaare Zameen Par, has gone off the roof in terms of percent of spike, and this is the first sign of the film beginning to establish itself to break out in the long run. If the film trends like Super 30 from hereon, an entry in the Rs 150 crore seems locked, whereas the day-on-day trend of Chhichhore could take it closer to the Rs 200 crore club. These are still estimates based on early trends, and the final business could be marginally higher or lower depending on the performance in evening and night shows. The actor, who is known for his show Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain and has been part of films such as Raid, Mardaani and Chhichhore, says that he loves it when his fans recreate his dialogues. 'I remember I used to say Gabbar Singh's dialogues a lot. My father would often tell me, 'Come on, say Gabbar Singh's dialogue.' And I would say it at least 10 times a day, 'Kitne aadmi the?' That was the fun of it. When an actor performs, he does it with emotions and feelings. That's how he connects with common people. And when that connection happens, people enjoy it and even try to imitate it. So many kids say 'I like it,' so many people say ' Wah Beta, tum goo khake hi maanoge,' and many say 'who's your daddy. ' This is a big compliment for any actor when fans copy something of theirs, enjoy it, and have fun. What more could an actor want in life? I feel very lucky that this is happening to me,' he says. As for feedback, the actor says that he really loves it when he gets feedback from his mom. 'It really matters to me that my mother likes my work. My mother watches Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain very regularly on &TV at 10:30 pm, and she feels very happy and proud of me. My sister also watches all my work, and we discuss everything in detail. She is herself a very good actor, so she also guides me and shares her views. It gives me a lot of peace and happiness when my own people watch my work and we have these discussions. It feels so good when they feel proud of me,' he says. Appreciation is very important, but social media comments can sometimes be negative too, he says, adding, 'I don't think I have been trolled. The main thing is, when you are in public life and millions of people watch your work, it's not necessary that everyone will support you or praise you. If you enjoy hearing praise, you should also be ready for criticism. An artist can't always expect appreciation. Sometimes you have to face criticism, too. I'm not afraid of it. I just try to do my work with all my heart. And if someone trolls me, let them. I even pray for them, may God keep them happy. I have no enmity with anyone. I'm friends with all, enemies with none.' Talking about his upcoming track in the show Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain, he says, 'In my upcoming track in Bhabi Ji, the light moment is that I want to fulfil a big dream of mine. I want lightning to strike me from the sky, and I want my whole body to turn blue because of it. For this, I've even made a device that I carry around and keep saying, 'Let there be lighting!
