Lachlan Young pleads guilty to murder of young Clunes woman Hannah McGuire

The man accused of murdering young Clunes woman Hannah McGuire has entered a plea of guilty, eight days into his trial. Lachlan Young, 23, had initially pleaded not guilty to murdering his ex-partner in April last year, and his offer to plead guilty to manslaughter was rejected by the prosecution. The packed courtroom cheered wildly after the 23-year-old was taken from the courtroom following his guilty plea. He will return to court at later date.

Out There premiered earlier this year and saw Clunes play the role of a father trying to protect his son after getting involved in a network of drug dealers. Last week, Clunes spoke about the series' future, sharing: "We were keen on doing a second series but ITV aren't, it seems. "It didn't quite pull the numbers they wanted, unfortunately."
