Youth should stay away from drugs: Cluster University registrar

Cluster University registrar Katta Venkateswarlu said that the country will develop on all fronts if the youth decide to stay away from drugs. On the occasion of International Day against Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking, the Cluster University organised a programme, where Mr. Venkateswarlu administered oath to the students, faculty and non-teaching staff to keep away from drugs. He said that drugs will lead to several health issues and urged every individual to create awareness on the ill-effects of drug abuse. Silver Jubilee Degree College principal G. Srinivas, meanwhile, urged students not to get addicted to drugs.

Faculty development programme on drone technology begins at Cluster University

Cluster University, Kurnool is conducting a faculty development programme (FDP) on 'Drone Technology' at the IIIT-DM Kurnool. The programme commenced on Monday (June 23) and will be held till June 29. The programme is sponsored by the Union Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (Meity) and sanctioned by E&ICT Academy of NIT – Warangal. Speaking on the occasion, Registrar of Cluster University Dr. Katta Venkateswarlu encouraged the faculty members to utilise the opportunity to learn this new technology to help students prepare for jobs. Project investigator Dr. K. Krishna Naik said that during the FDP, the resource persons from IIIT-DMK will train the faculty members in manufacturing and flying of drones. Co-principal investigator M. Naresh Babu said that in the present days, drones are used in various fields starting from agriculture to defence sectors. Dr M. Padmavathi, Co-ordinator from Cluster University and K.V. Eswara Moorthy co-ordinator from IIIT-DMK explained the benefits of attending this FDP on drone technology.

SILVER CET-2025 results announced

The results of SILVER CET–2025 for admissions into Silver Jubilee Government College, Kurnool for the academic year 2025-2026 were announced on Saturday by the Cluster University In-charge Vice-Chancellor Prof. V. Venkata Basavarao and Registrar Dr. Katta Venkateswarlu. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Basavarao said that several students who studied in the Silver Jubilee College achieved success in their life and those who have qualified in the SILVER CET will also have a bright future. He asked them to focus on their academics. Registrar Venkateswarlu said that 1,196 appeared for the CET and 1,085 of them have qualified. Silver Jubilee Government College Principal Dr. G. Srinivas and others were also present.

Kurnool: No matter how many tasks you have to do in a day, dedicating sometime to practice yoga can bring mental peace and a change in a person's daily life, said Cluster University Registrar Dr Katta Venkateswarlu. On Friday, a huge rally was held at Cluster University Silver Jubilee Degree College as part of the Yogandhra programme. Speaking after the rally, Registrar Dr K Venkateswarlu said that the Central and State Governments has taken this initiative to inform the people of the country about the benefits of practicing yoga and the changes that yoga brings to the human body. In this programme, Silver Jubilee Government Degree College principal Dr G Srinivas, Government Men's Degree College principal Dr Indira Shanthi & KVR Government Degree College principal Dr K Venkata Reddy, vice principals, faculty members and non-teaching staff were present.

Kurnool: Cluster University Registrar Dr Katta Venkateswarlu said that everyone should start practicing yoga daily to become completely healthy. He urged all to make the International Yoga Day a big success. On Wednesday, he planted saplings in the college premises as part of Yogandhra programme at Cluster University Government Men's Degree College. College Principal Dr Indira Shanti said that irrespective of age everyone can practice yoga, which brings change in their lives. Silver Jubilee Government Degree College Principal Dr G Srinivas, KVR Government Degree College Principal Dr K Venkat Reddy, vice-principals and staff participated in the programme.
