First trial run of Pune Metro Line 3 conducted between Maan depot and Wipro Circle
Pune: The much-anticipated Pune Metro Line 3, which will connect Hinjawadi IT Park with Shivajinagar, achieved a key milestone on Friday with the successful completion of its first trial run. The trial was carried out between Maan Depot and PMR04 station (Wipro) as part of the project's internal system checks. The 23.3-km fully elevated corridor is being developed under public-private partnership (PPP) model by the Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority (PMRDA) in collaboration with Tata Group-led Pune IT City Metro Rail Ltd. The appointed date for the project was Nov 25, 2021, said Rinaj Pathan, chief superintending engineer, PMRDA. Friday's trial run focused on verifying Schedule of Dimensions (SOD) compliance along the viaduct and stations and conducting internal systems validation.
