All About 'Superman' Star David Corenswet's Wife, Julia Warner

Superman actor David Corenswet plays a man leading an epic double-life. The star has some experience there, because he keeps his off-screen world extremely private. Corenswet is married to his wife, Julia Best Warner, with whom he shares one child. But his Instagram is almost entirely promotion for the upcoming DC flick, and he has shared very little info about his family. Here's everything that is known about Warner and her relationship with the superhero. Like Corenswet, Warner is an actor. Per her LinkedIn profile, she studied Fine Arts in Theater Arts Acting at Point Park University in Pittsburgh. According to her IMDb page, she has also tried her hand at producing and directing, and has credits with The Baby Sitters Pub, Ratched, and Pretty Little Things. In 2018, she wrote a tribute to her work at the Pittsburgh Playhouse. She seems to be close to her family, and posted about cutting down the family Christmas tree with other Warners in 2020. And she and Corenswet share a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel named Ira: 'He's less of a doggy, more of a toddler,' Corenswet told People in June 2025, adding that the 7-year-old dog 'has a wonderful mohawk, a natural tuft of hair right between his eyes, which is the reason he's disqualified from being shown [making him] adoptable.' According to an interview with People in June 2025, the pair met as teenagers at a Pennsylvania summer theater program and had a 'slow-burn' romance. They were married in March 2023. In 2022, Warner shared a carousel of pics that included Corenswet. Corenswet and Warner welcomed a daughter in 2024, though they have kept her name private. In his interview with People, Corenswet said, 'I feel like I've been a dad for a long time, and just waiting for a kid to prove it. My dad was an enthusiastic father and stayed home with my sister for a period when she was very little, and was very good with kids. And so I think I just inherited that. I liked being a camp counselor, and I have terrible jokes that nobody laughs at.' The baby arrived in close conjunction with the beginning of his Superman journey, prompting him to add, 'Two big unknown things at the same time. And they were both great things.' Yes, they made their red carpet debut at the Los Angeles premiere of Superman on July 7, 2025. Warner stood out next to her husband in a strapless mint gown. Corenswet wore a navy suit. 'I cried no less than three times': Superman star Brandon Routh showers David Corenswet with praise

Brandon Routh "cried no less than three times" during Superman. The 45-year-old actor – who played the Man of Steel in 2006's Superman Returns – showered Superman star David Corenswet, 32, with praise after he watched the DC comic book movie, and said he was "fantastic" in the iconic role. Speaking with Variety about Superman, Routh said: "It was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed it. I think David is fantastic. I cried no less than three times. "I see this in a different way. I come at it from a different perspective. I really got into it as I'm watching him navigate those tricky Superman moments in the first conversation with Lois and Clark in the apartment. "And then all of the family stuff for me really hit. It's a big movie. There's a lot in there. I have to go see it again." Looking to the future of the DC Universe (DCU), The Rookie star said he was "really excited" to see what was next for the studio. He said: "I really am excited for the potential for the DC Universe. A successful launch with this is just good for everybody who wants more of what DC has to offer. "There are a lot of great properties that can be explored." Superman – which was directed by James Gunn – follows Clark Kent (Corenswet) as he balances his human and Kryptonian lives, all while Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) does everything in his power to bring the Man of Steel down. Recently, Corenswet revealed he had exchanged letters with former Superman actors Henry Cavill and Tyler Hoechlin – though neither wanted to give him any "tips" about playing the hero. He told Heart: "I had the pleasure of exchanging letters with two previous Supermans, Henry Cavill and Tyler Hoechlin. Both of them, interestingly, sort of said in their own words, 'I'm not gonna try to give you any tips.' "And I think that's a very Superman thing - Superman's not so much for giving advice or dictating how other people should be." Although they didn't give him any advice, the Superman actors did send The Twisters star some words of encouragement. Corenswet continued: "They really just conveyed to me an encouragement and a sense of, you know, have fun with it, which I think is Superman's way of doing it too. "They were very encouraging and we had a lovely exchange."

Brandon Routh 'Cried No Less Than Three Times' Watching 'Superman'

The 2025 reboot of Superman has been an especially important one, serving as the first live-action film of the new DC Universe. Judging by all accounts, whether it's been the initial reception from critics, fans, or those all-important box office numbers the James Gunn-directed film has been putting up, one can probably safely say it's been a huge success. Having just released in theaters nationwide on July 11, Superman has already seen a domestic box office total of $235 million as of July 20, not to mention $406.8 million globally. We have even reached the point where another Superman, Brandon Routh, who starred in Superman Returns (2006), was so moved by the reboot starring David Corenswet it apparently brought him to tears multiple times. "It was a lot of fun," Routh said on Jul 21 while promoting his new film, Ick. "I really enjoyed it. I think David [Corenswet] is fantastic. I cried no less than three times." From one Superman to the latest Superman, to say you cried "no less than three times" while first seeing the film, in addition to expressing the desire to go see it again, feels like a compliment of the highest order for Corenswet. And, really, Gunn too. "I see this in a different way. I come at it from a different perspective," Routh explained. "I really got into it as I'm watching him navigate those tricky Superman moments in the first conversation with Lois and Clark in the apartment. And then all of the family stuff for me really hit. It's a big movie. There's a lot in there. I have to go see it again." Routh has notably been on the Superman hype train since its domestic release, posting, "Go see #Superman in theaters now!" on Instagram while tagging the movie and some accompanying heart emojis. The 45-year-old actor went on to express excitement over "the potential for the DC Universe,' adding, 'A successful launch with this is just good for everybody who wants more of what DC has to offer." Routh's latest project of note, Ick—which is listed as a "science fiction horror comedy"—is scheduled for a limited release in New York City and Los Angeles on July 24, followed by a wider domestic release on July Routh 'Cried No Less Than Three Times' Watching 'Superman' first appeared on Men's Journal on Jul 21, 2025 Solve the daily Crossword

'Superman' Star Has Unusual Approach to Watching 'Star Wars' Movies

The star of the new Superman movie, David Corenswet, recently revealed that he's a big Star Wars fan, and so much so that he would prefer to take on the role of a Jedi over a role in a sequel to Superman. Corenswet took part in Vanity Fair's Lie Detector Test interview along with co-star Nicholas Hoult and was asked if he would rather do a Superman sequel or play as a Jedi Knight in a Star Wars film. Corenswet, who also admitted he has a tradition of taking part in a Star Wars marathon every New Year's Eve, showed his true allegiance by choosing the latter. The Superman star has also revealed he has an unorthodox approach for watching the Star Wars films, at least when it comes to introducing them to people who haven't watched the movies before. Corenswet doesn't recommend watching them in order. Instead, here's his preferred method, according to Brittany Broski's Royal Court. 1. A New Hope 2. The Empire Strikes Back 3. The Phantom Menace 4. Attack of the Clones 5. Revenge of the Sith 6. Return of the Jedi This is nearly the famed "Machete Order" (The Phantom Menace is not included in that order) for watching Star Wars movies, which further cements how big of a fan Corenswet is. Corenswet went on to explain the reasoning behind his preferred lineup. "You preserve the twist of — spoiler alert — Darth Vader is his father… and then you watch One through Three as a flashback essentially," Corenswet said. "And then Six, it's not as strong as Four and Five as a film, but it's a great culmination to the whole thing. It brings it all together. The stakes are bigger if you've seen One through Three, it feels more like a saga." While that lineup might feel odd to some, Corenswet's explanation for it is a strong one. We'll give him two thumbs up.'Superman' Star Has Unusual Approach to Watching 'Star Wars' Movies first appeared on Men's Journal on Jul 15, 2025 Solve the daily Crossword
