Why Vince Vaughn was scolded by ‘Wedding Crashers' cinematographer on set
Life imitated art when Vince Vaughn was filming 'Wedding Crashers.' In honor of the film's 20th anniversary, cinematographer Julio Macat is recalling the moment on set when he had to scold Vaughn, 55 — for excessive partying. 'I gave him sh-t one day because he was partying a little too hard,' Macat, 68, said. 'He showed up one day and you know, I've seen one bag under the eye, I've seen two bags under the eye.' 7 Vince Vaughn in 'Wedding Crashers.' ©New Line Cinema/Courtesy Everett Collection 'So first time I saw three bags under somebody's eye and I go, 'Vince, you got to get some sleep man. This is insane!'' Macat recounted. 'He got mad at me,' Macat said about Vaughn. 'Like, 'Oh, you know, you do your f–ing thing.'' However, their banter 'was all in good fun,' Macat noted. 'I think he's a really good guy,' the cinematographer added. 'We call each other cousins.' 7 Julio Macat in his interview with The Post. Macat was blown away by Vaughn and Wilson's improv during shooting. 'To do improvisation and to do that kind of acting on each other, there's very few actors who can do that successfully,' Macat stated. 'Improv is really tough. Any actor will tell you that to do it and not be dragging on or with uncomfortable pauses is a real trick. And these guys were masters at it.' 7 Isla Fisher, Vince Vaughn in 'Wedding Crashers.' ©New Line Cinema/Courtesy Everett Collection 7 Vince Vaughn, Owen Wilson in 'Wedding Crashers.' ©New Line Cinema/Courtesy Everett Collection 'Vince and Owen had such a chemistry about them. And they were so on top of each other in a really good way that what we found out pretty soon was that the rehearsal was the best take,' he revealed. 'And then you keep trying to chase that to try to grab the same moments and the same moments of freshness.' Macat also spoke highly about his experience working with the film's other famous stars. 'Bradley Cooper was really trying. It was like if he was playing tennis, he was trying to hit as hard as the guys,' Macat said about Cooper, who had a supporting role as Sack Lodge. 'He was really approachable and really appreciative whenever we came up with a shot for him,' Macat explained. 'He was like, 'Oh, great, great. Yeah.' He raised his game.' 7 Vince Vaughn and Owen Wilson in 'Wedding Crashers.' ©New Line Cinema/Courtesy Everett Collection 'Rachel McAdams was awesome,' Macat added about the Oscar nominee, who played Claire Cleary. 'She was really in tune what she was trying to do.' The David Dobkin-directed comedy also featured Christopher Walken, Jane Seymour, Isla Fisher and Keir O'Donnell. In Aug. 2024, Vaughn — who has also starred in raunchy films such as 'Old School' and 'Couples Retreat' — explained why he thinks R-rated comedies are now on life support. 7 Julio Macat at the premiere of 'Because I Said So' in 2007. Getty Images 'They just overthink it,' he said of Hollywood during a 'Hot Ones' appearance. 'And it's like, it's crazy, you get these rules, like, if you did geometry, and you said 87 degrees was a right angle, then all your answers are messed up, instead of 90 degrees. So there became some idea or concept, like, they would say something like, 'You have to have an IP.'' Vaughn cited the board game Battleship as an example of IP that became a 'vehicle for storytelling' due to its recognizable name. 'The people in charge don't want to get fired … so than they're looking to do something great, so they want to kind of follow a set of rules that somehow get set in stone, that don't really translate,' he went on. 'But as long as they follow them, they're not going to lose their job because they can say, 'Well, look, I made a movie off the board game 'Payday,' so even though the movie didn't work, you can't let me go, right?''

‘And Just Like That' reveals character has prostate cancer in shocking new storyline
And just like that… Charlotte and Harry's lives turned upside down. Kristin Davis is opening up about Season 3, episode 5 of 'And Just Like That…' titled: 'Under the Table.' In the episode, Charlotte (Davis) learns that her husband, Harry (Evan Handler), has prostate cancer. Harry is optimistic about his diagnosis and beating cancer, but Charlotte is overcome by anxiety. Advertisement 7 Kristin Davis, Evan Handler in 'And Just Like That…' Max 'I knew something would happen, right? We couldn't just go on, if you know what I mean,' Davis, 60, told Variety on Friday about her storyline. 'I was relieved that it wasn't something horrible. It could have been worse — at least I didn't have to cheat on him or something like that, right?' 'That would be so out of character; it would make no sense,' she added. 'I knew [creator] Michael [Patrick King] wouldn't do that, but I was like, 'Oh, God — cancer.' Which is how Charlotte feels, and, of course, how everyone would feel.' Advertisement Sharing what fans can expect down the road, Davis — who has portrayed Charlotte since 'Sex and the City' in 1998 — admitted: 'The thing that I love, that you'll see in the second half, is that it has a really great way that it goes.' 7 Kristin Davis, Evan Handler, Christopher Jackson, and Nicole Ari in Season 3 of 'And Just Like That…' Max The 'Couples Retreat' alum elaborated, 'In terms of Charlotte having to keep the secret that Harry wants her to keep, and the toll that it takes on her. She's trying to take care of him, and then she's trying to fulfill his wishes about who she tells or doesn't tell. So she really doesn't have her friends, and she ends up not taking care of herself.' Davis also noted that this plot line is universal and one that can resonate with a multitude of viewers. Advertisement 'This is something that a lot of people relate to — women and men — if you have a partner who gets a disease, and you forget to take care of yourself,' she discussed. 'It has a comedic element to it, which was really fun and scary to do, but it's just really true to life. It seems like a perfect storyline for Charlotte that she would, of course, forget to take care of herself, and then have her own health.' 7 Kristin Davis as Charlotte. Max 7 Evan Handle as Harry. Max Charlotte and Harry have been together since Season 5 of 'Sex and the City,' when she hired him as a divorce lawyer during her split from her first husband, Trey. The couple, who have been married for 22 years, share kids Lily and Rock. Advertisement 'It's hard to remember that sometimes,' Davis said about how much the on-screen love interests have been through over the years. 'It's good to be reminded — but when you're in the moment, [the history is] there, but you're trying to make sure you're doing what you're supposed to do right now. But it informs everything.' The 'Cash Out' alum hosts a rewatch podcast, 'Are You a Charlotte?,' which gives her a chance to take a walk down memory lane, for not only her story but that of Carrie, Samantha and Miranda (Cynthia Nixon) as well. 7 Samantha Jones text cameo. Max 7 Samantha Jones makes a cameo via text. HBO She shared with the outlet, 'When I'm looking back at the old show for my podcast, I'm always like, 'Wow.' All these things happen that I forgot — it's impossible to remember it all, just like how in our regular lives, it's impossible to remember everything.' Thursday's episode also featured another cameo by Samantha Jones. Just like in Season 1, it came via a text message. The role of Samantha was played by Kim Cattrall, who opted not to return for the reboot. In the scene, Carrie (Sarah Jessica Parker) texts Samantha for information on her new downstairs neighbor, Duncan Reeves (Jonathan Cake). 'They say he's a lot of fun. Why?' Samantha writes back about the British author. Carrie then fills in her longtime bestie that 'he's living under me,' to which Samantha responds, 'I wish he was under me.' Advertisement 7 'And Just Like That' Season 3 premiere. WireImage Despite Charlotte and Harry's decades-long marriage, Nixon, 59, revealed that the show works best when the core group of characters aren't in long-term romances. Much like how the ladies, including Carrie, are exploring new options. Nixon told Entertainment Weekly in May, 'I think our show is always at its most quintessential when as many of us as possible are single and dating and failing at it.'

Actor Faizon Love struck San Diego hotel worker with credit card reader, lawsuit alleges
A San Diego woman has taken legal action against actor and comedian Faizon Love, suing him for assault and battery stemming from a hotel check-in gone awry. Love's accuser, Elizabeth Renderos, filed her lawsuit against the 'Elf' and 'Friday' actor on Tuesday in San Diego County Superior Court. Renderos has also sued the actor and multiple unidentified co-defendants for intentional infliction of emotional distress, negligence, negligent infliction of emotional distress and property damage. An attorney for Renderos did not comment to The Times. A representative for Love did not immediately respond to The Times' request for comment. The complaint, reviewed by The Times, centers on an alleged incident that occurred Aug. 9, 2024 at a Sheraton Hotel in San Diego where Renderos was working as a front-desk agent. Renderos informed Love, 56, upon checking in that the hotel could not honor his reservation, allegedly booked through a third-party app, because the hotel was at full capacity. The 'Couples Retreat' actor allegedly 'became agitated and aggressive' when Renderos advised him to contact the app to receive a refund for the unfulfilled reservation, the lawsuit said. 'Without provocation, [Love] forcefully ripped the credit card reader off the counter and hurled it at [Renderos],' the complaint alleges, 'striking her on the right side of her head.' Renderos' suit alleges that she suffered a concussion and a 'visible bump behind her right ear' as a result of the incident. She also claims her glasses were broken that evening and that she continues to suffer 'great' mental and physical 'pain and suffering.' Additionally, Renderos' complaint says she 'incurred, and will continue to incur' expenses for her medical care, including hospitalization and future treatment. The lawsuit said police responded to the incident, took statements from both Renderos and Love and cited the latter for battery. The San Diego Police Department did not immediately respond to The Times' request for an incident report. As of October, there is an active warrant for Love's arrest. He is wanted on a felony charge for assault with a deadly weapon, according to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office database. A day after the alleged incident, Love expressed his frustration with the third-party hotel-booking app. In an Instagram post, he warned followers to stay away from the app. Renderos is seeking an unspecified amount in damages and requests a trial by jury. A hearing is set for August.
