Why Vince Vaughn was scolded by ‘Wedding Crashers' cinematographer on set
In honor of the film's 20th anniversary, cinematographer Julio Macat is recalling the moment on set when he had to scold Vaughn, 55 — for excessive partying.
'I gave him sh-t one day because he was partying a little too hard,' Macat, 68, said. 'He showed up one day and you know, I've seen one bag under the eye, I've seen two bags under the eye.'

'So first time I saw three bags under somebody's eye and I go, 'Vince, you got to get some sleep man. This is insane!'' Macat recounted.
'He got mad at me,' Macat said about Vaughn. 'Like, 'Oh, you know, you do your f–ing thing.''
However, their banter 'was all in good fun,' Macat noted.
'I think he's a really good guy,' the cinematographer added. 'We call each other cousins.'

In the 2005 comedy directed by David Dobkin, Vaughn and Owen Wilson play divorce mediators who crash weddings to meet and seduce women.
Macat was blown away by Vaughn and Wilson's improv during shooting.
'To do improvisation and to do that kind of acting on each other, there's very few actors who can do that successfully,' Macat stated. 'Improv is really tough. Any actor will tell you that to do it and not be dragging on or with uncomfortable pauses is a real trick. And these guys were masters at it.'

'Vince and Owen had such a chemistry about them. And they were so on top of each other in a really good way that what we found out pretty soon was that the rehearsal was the best take,' he revealed. 'And then you keep trying to chase that to try to grab the same moments and the same moments of freshness.'
Macat also spoke highly about his experience working with the film's other famous stars.
'Bradley Cooper was really trying. It was like if he was playing tennis, he was trying to hit as hard as the guys,' Macat said about Cooper, who had a supporting role as Sack Lodge.
'He was really approachable and really appreciative whenever we came up with a shot for him,' Macat explained. 'He was like, 'Oh, great, great. Yeah.' He raised his game.'

'Rachel McAdams was awesome,' Macat added about the Oscar nominee, who played Claire Cleary. 'She was really in tune what she was trying to do.'
The David Dobkin-directed comedy also featured Christopher Walken, Jane Seymour, Isla Fisher and Keir O'Donnell.
In Aug. 2024, Vaughn — who has also starred in raunchy films such as 'Old School' and 'Couples Retreat' — explained why he thinks R-rated comedies are now on life support.

'They just overthink it,' he said of Hollywood during a 'Hot Ones' appearance. 'And it's like, it's crazy, you get these rules, like, if you did geometry, and you said 87 degrees was a right angle, then all your answers are messed up, instead of 90 degrees. So there became some idea or concept, like, they would say something like, 'You have to have an IP.''
Vaughn cited the board game Battleship as an example of IP that became a 'vehicle for storytelling' due to its recognizable name.
'The people in charge don't want to get fired … so than they're looking to do something great, so they want to kind of follow a set of rules that somehow get set in stone, that don't really translate,' he went on. 'But as long as they follow them, they're not going to lose their job because they can say, 'Well, look, I made a movie off the board game 'Payday,' so even though the movie didn't work, you can't let me go, right?''

On 'Murder, She Wrote,' behind the scenes, Lansbury was known for helping hire older actors in guest roles, who had dwindling careers and needed work in order to qualify for their Screen Actors Guild medical/dental benefits. Randall Bosley, a former extra from 'Murder, She Wrote' told the LA Times in 2023 about an incident when Lansbury passed the Craft Services table on set, and saw a paltry offering of only chips, coffee, and water. Bosley recalled that Lansbury said, 'This is unacceptable. I want my people well taken care of. I'm going back to my trailer and I'm not coming back until this table is properly stocked with nourishing food and drink for everyone.' Bosley said, 'Soon thereafter the craft service table was filled with the most wonderful array of food and drink. Travis Kelce Has an Unexpected Evil Role in 'Happy Gilmore 2'

THE RUNDOWN Netflix's Happy Gilmore 2 revisits the 1996 Adam Sandler movie and brings back much of the original cast, including Julie Bowen, Ben Stiller, and Christopher McDonald. It's also filled with celebrity cameos, including Travis Kelce, Margaret Qualley, and Bad Bunny. Kelce, who went Instagram official with Taylor Swift this week, appears in a scene that takes place in a country club restaurant the night before a major tournament, alluding to the famous Champions Dinner that takes place days before the annual Masters Tournament. In it, Happy Gilmore (Adam Sandler) appears with several real-life golf stars including Jordan Speith, Rickie Fowler, and Keegan Bradley. Kelce and Bad Bunny play waiters. Kelce's character, who is credited as The Waiter, puts on a phony niceness while serving the golfers, then turns nasty when he fires Bad Bunny's character, Oscar, for an understandable mistake. Kelce's character is revisited in a later scene. Happy asks Oscar, who has now become his caddy, to imagine his 'happy place.' In the fantasy sequence The Waiter is tied to a pole with his shirt off. Oscar slathers him in honey and then lets him be devoured by a bear. Oscar watches, satisfied. Despite the violent turn of events, Kelce has said that working on the long-awaited sequel was a 'dream.' '[Sandler] is every bit as cool off the screen as he is on the screen. That was a dream come true. That was awesome,' he said on The Pat McAfee Show earlier this year. Kelce's previously appeared onscreen in Ryan Murphy's FX series Grotesquerie in 2024 and on Saturday Night Live, as a host in 2023. 'Travis is such a gentle, nice guy, and funny as hell,' Sandler later told Entertainment Tonight. 'He's like the guys I grew up with. When I was with Travis, it reminded me of my buddies in high school and just being able to laugh and say the things you want to say.' Dan Aykroyd finally reveals why he skipped the ‘SNL 50' special
Live from his living room…. Original 'Saturday Night Live' cast member Dan Aykroyd is finally revealing why he skipped the big 'SNL50' special in February. The three-hour event celebrated a landmark 50 years of the iconic NBC sketch comedy show. Many former cast members were in attendance, including Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg, Eddie Murphy, and Amy Poehler. Past hosts such as Jack Nicholson, 87, also attended, even though Nicholson has been spotted in public less frequently in recent years. He's got the greatest gig in New York City. He has influence and power,' he exclusively told The Post. 'And he works in a job that keeps him laughing every day. So why would he want to leave that?' Michaels has shepherded 'Saturday Night Live' for 50 years, since the inaugural 1975 season that included Aykroyd. Although Michaels hasn't announced retirement plans, he told Gayle King on 'CBS Mornings' in 2021 that he thinks he's 'committed to doing the show until its 50th anniversary, which is in three years. 'I'd like to see that through, and I have a feeling that would be a really good time to leave,' he said at the time. Aykroyd said that in theory, there are other people who might be able to helm the show 'but it's not Lorne, and he's not leaving. He loves it. In the film, Dylan O'Brien ('Teen Wolf') plays Aykroyd. 'I thought it was like a suspense thriller, and beautifully executed by the cast,' he told The Post. 'I think it's a masterpiece, honestly. I think it could be up for Best Picture [at the Oscars].' The movie earned one Golden Globe nomination, but no Oscar noms. 'As I was there that night, the depictions of some of the characters were right on,' Aykroyd added. 'And, the tension of whether we were going to make it to air or not is expertly depicted. I liked it a lot.'
