The beloved Roscoe Village Burger Fest is back and bringing together Chicago's most primo patties
What could be more fun than filling your belly with all you can eat and drink, while listening to live music and strolling down the street in one of Chicago's most loved neighborhoods? Roscoe Village, located on the north side not far from Wrigley Field, is a tight-knit community full of fun pubs, shops, and sidewalk cafes. And this neighborhood loves to party! And the latter juicy event is back, serving some of Chicagoland's best burgers under one roof. Kicking off Friday, July 18 to Sunday, July 20, this patty party will feature all the greats just like in year's past: food from killer restaurants; two stages of diverse and fun music; a large Kids' Zone with face painting, inflatables, games, arts and crafts and music; and unique artisans like Alicia Gomez Art, Slightly Fab and Terra and Talia, who will all be selling their wares. Come on over to the intersection of Belmont and Damen (2000 W. Belmont) from 5 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. on Friday and from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. This year's burger vendors from thirteen acclaimed Chicago restaurants include: Aussom Aussie BBQ, Byron's Hot Dog, Bust Outs, Epic Burger, Cheesie's Pub & Grub, Chicago Dog House, Fatso's Last Stand, Lola's Coney Island, Reclaimed Bar & Restaurant, Reggies Chicago, Robinson's, The StopAlong, and Tandoor Char House. Superman Review Out: David Corenswet Is ‘Exceptional' In James Gunn's Summer Blockbuster
Last Updated: The new Superman movie is set to kick off the new DC Universe on the screens. James Gunn-directed Superman, featuring David Corenswet as the Man of Steel, is set to hit the theatres on July 11. The upcoming movie will launch the new DC Universe on the big screen. The film will follow Superman 's journey to reconcile his alien Kryptonian heritage with his human upbringing as Clark Kent, who is a reporter. The first reviews of Superman are in, and people have a lot to say. Film critic Bryan Sudfield shared on X that the new Superman movie is a 'bold and faithful" take on the iconic superhero. He said, '#SUPERMAN soars with heart, humour, and style—a bold yet faithful take on the iconic hero. James Gunn sets a fresh tone while honouring the character's legacy, and David Corenswet shines with sincerity and strength. A promising, thrilling start to DC's new era." #SUPERMAN soars with heart, humor, and style—a bold yet faithful take on the iconic hero. A promising, thrilling start to DC's new era. — Bryan Sudfield (@BryanSudfield) July 8, 2025 Entertainment journalist Brandon Davis shared, 'David Corenswet portrays an exceptional iteration of #Superman with sincerity, heroism, purity, and inspirational traits. Corenswet & Rachel Brosnahan's chemistry for Clark and Lois is off the charts. Their relationship is an excellent driver, especially early." Movie critic Peter Howell noted that the movie lacks depth. He wrote, 'Not the super start to the DC Universe everybody had been hoping for. James Gunn is brilliant at conjuring spectacle and creating alien realms, not so great at storytelling. " He added, 'David Corenswet plays a boyishly sweet Superman, constantly getting his ass kicked; he'd be better as the lead in a Dudley Do-Right movie. Rachel Brosnahan makes a spiky Lois Lane, Nicholas Hoult's Lex Luthor is more obnoxious than villainous." However, he thought that 'the real star of the show is superdog Krypto, who steals every scene he's in — I'd rather see a movie about him." #SUPERMAN: Not the super start to DC Universe everybody had been hoping for. When James Gunn gets out of the way & lets his work speak for itself, it's incredible. It's not perfect, but darn close & made me a believer in Gunn's #DC." This is the BEST #Superman movie to date. When James Gunn gets out of the way & lets his work speak for itself, it's incredible. Another Critics Choice member, Rachel Leishman, said, 'SUPERMAN reminds us that Clark Kent has always been a beacon of hope and the goodness that can exist in this world. James Gunn's vision is a comic book brought to life, and it bought a lightness and a happiness to one of the most beloved heroes around."
