Packers reveal 1923-inspired throwback uniforms for 2025 season
The Green Bay Packers revealed new throwback uniforms inspired by the team's look from 1923 that will be worn during the 2025 season. The "1923 Classic" uniforms feature an airbrushed, faux-leather brown helmet -- the first of its kind at the NFL level -- and navy blue jerseys with gold numbers and stripes. The Packers went 7-2-1 and finished in third place in the NFL under coach Curly Lambeau during the 1923 season, the first season in which the team was publicly owned and operated. The Packers have not announced which game the throwbacks will be worn, but this is a home uniform to be worn at Lambeau Field. Packers announce open training camp practice dates
The Packers announced the dates of their open training camp practices for this summer. This will mark Green Bay's 80th training camp, a tradition that began in 1946 under Curly Lambeau. As in the past, practices are scheduled to take place at Ray Nitschke Field, with Packers Family Night at Lambeau Field. The Packers open training camp Wednesday, July 23, with the first of three consecutive public practices. The Friday practice will be followed by the annual meeting of shareholders at 3 p.m. CT. After a day off on Saturday, Green Bay will hold the first of four public practices in five days on Sunday (July 27-28 and 30-31). The Packers will host Family Night at Lambeau Field on Saturday, Aug. 2, and follow with three consecutive public practices (Aug. 5-7) before taking on the Jets at home on Saturday, Aug. 9 at 7 p.m. CT. Green Bay will hold a public practice on Tuesday, Aug. 12, before going to Indianapolis, where it will have a joint practice (Aug. 14) before facing the Colts on Saturday, Aug. 16, at noon CT. The Packers finish off the open sessions of training camp with an open practice on Aug. 19 and then an open joint practice against Seattle (Aug. 21) before facing the Seahawks at Lambeau Field on Saturday, Aug. 23 at 3 p.m. CT. All public training camp practices at Ray Nitschke Field are scheduled to start at 10:30 a.m. CT (times are subject to change). Should inclement weather or any other factor force the team indoors, practices will be closed to the public due to space limitations inside the Don Hutson Center. Wisconsin, Notre Dame to play football on a Sunday in 2026 at Lambeau Field

File Photo by Aaron Josefczyk/UPI | License Photo May 21 (UPI) -- Wisconsin will host Notre Dame in a Shamrock Series football meeting Sept. 6, 2026, at Lambeau Field in Green Bay, the schools announced Wednesday. The matchup was previously planned for Oct. 3, 2020, but postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. The Sept. 6 meeting will air on NBC and Peacock and take place a week before the start of the 2025 NFL season. Wisconsin beat LSU 16-14 in 2016 in the last college football matchup to be held at Lambeau Field. The 2026 game will mark Notre Dame's first appearance at the stadium, which is named after Packers founder and former Notre Dame halfback Curly Lambeau. Notre Dame beat Wisconsin 41-13 in 2021 at Soldier Field in Chicago in the first installment of their two-game series. The Fighting Irish will take on the University of Miami Hurricanes in their 2025 season opener Aug. 31 in Miami Gardens, Fla. The Badgers will host the Miami University RedHawks on Aug. 28 in Madison.

Notre Dame football announces its plans for the 2026 Shamrock Series game
One the Notre Dame football's recent traditions has been playing in an annual Shamrock Series game which started in 2009, and on Wednesday it was announced that the 2026 edition will happen on Sep. 6th, against the Wisconsin Badgers at Lambeau Field. Initially the game was supposed to be played in 2020, but due to the shortened season, it didn't happen. This will be the second time the two teams have played in a Shamrock Series game, the first a Notre Dame 41-13 win in Soldier Field in Chicago, Illinois. The announcement means that the Irish can now check off playing in another stadium, as this will be the first time playing in historic Lambeau Field. Advertisement According to the press release, this is only the third time a collegiate game will be played on the 'Frozen Tundra,' the first since 2016. Another interesting note they shared was the fact that the field is named after a Notre Dame player and founder of the Green Bay Packers, Curly Lambeau. The Badgers will look to rebound from a disappointing 2024, where they went 5-7 and didn't play in a bowl game. The two teams will be much different when the take on each other in 2026, but it still should be a great game played in one of the most famous NFL stadiums.
