Gino D'Acampo 'to start new life abroad' following sexual misconduct allegations
Gino D'Acampo is reportedly set to begin a new life in Australia following accusations of sexual misconduct. Late last year, the Italian celebrity chef, 48, faced accusations of misconduct involving his former colleagues. His alleged behaviour was described as 'unacceptable' and 'distressing', and is said to have included sexualised comments and aggressive language on sets. D'Acampo has always 'firmly denied' the allegations and said they are 'deeply upsetting'. The Sun reports that the television presenter has listed his £4.2 million Hertfordshire mansion for sale and is set to make a new life Down Under, launching 'multiple projects' after being sacked from ITV. These new projects allegedly include two new restaurants and a culinary tech platform. A representative for D'Acampo told the publication: 'He loves Australia a lot — the people, culture, cleanliness and environment.' A separate source continued: 'Gino has had a fantastic career over here — and still has an incredibly loyal fanbase. 'But it's been made clear to him that TV opportunities over here are few and far between in the wake of recent allegations, and that's frustrating. 'While Gino has always denied any wrongdoing, he's a pragmatist and knows it's time for new adventures.' They added that he had been 'inundated' with work offers following a 'really successful' tour through the country. 'He spent some time in Australia a few years ago, and loved it. He still has a large social media following and plans to capitalise on that in the next stage of his career.' The Sun continued that Gino will maintain a base in the UK, but will spend a large amount of time in Australia and is looking at properties in Melbourne. It comes after D'Acampo shared his latest TV series following the controversies. He told The Mirror: 'We have a TV project on for later this year in September, I want to go all around Malta, it's a show called An Italian In Malta. 'The idea is to show everyone all over the world a bit about the country—I want to find the perfect restaurant, the perfect recipe, the perfect spot. 'I will speak to the local people [about] what they cook and how they cooked 200 years ago.' More Trending But that's not all, as D'Acampo is embarking on a career change with a mystery series that will see him act for the first time. He revealed: 'I am playing a part in a series; my part is this Italian-American mechanic that is always in trouble with the police or always in trouble with the law, and then he became a mechanic, and he's helping the main character in the show. 'This is acting now; I'm not becoming a real mechanic. I'm useless at stuff like that.' Metro has contacted representatives for Gino D'Acampo for comment Got a story? Gino D'Acampo 'to move to Australia' after ITV axe and misconduct allegations
Gino D'Acampo is reportedly relocating part-time to Australia following ITV's decision to cut ties with him after multiple allegations of inappropriate behaviour TV chef Gino D'Acampo is reportedly planning a major career move to Australia, five months after ITV cut ties with him following serious misconduct allegations. The famed TV chef, 48, is reportedly preparing to launch several new ventures Down Under, including two restaurants, a cookware range, and a tech platform, as he steps away from the UK spotlight. Though he will maintain a base in the UK, D'Acampo is expected to spend most of the next two years in Australia, according to reports. His representative hinted at the big move as they said: 'He loves Australia a lot - the people, culture, cleanliness and environment.' The decision comes after a turbulent year for the former This Morning regular. Earlier this year, ITV News conducted an investigation into 'unacceptable', 'distressing' and 'horrendous' behaviour by D'Acampo, some of which allegedly dates back over a decade. Last year, it was revealed that he had been placed on a language and behaviour course by ITV bosses. There were also claims ITV failed to act on repeated complaints, including incidents involving inappropriate comments made to This Morning host Holly Willoughby in 2018. D'Acampo was later sidelined from Gordon, Gino and Fred: Road Trip after refusing to sign a morality clause. However, he has consistently denied all allegations made against him. A source close to the star told The Sun: 'Gino has had a fantastic career over here - and still has an incredibly loyal fanbase. But it's been made clear to him that TV opportunities over here are few and far between in the wake of recent allegations, and that's frustrating. 'While Gino has always denied any wrongdoing, he's a pragmatist and knows it's time for new adventures. He's been inundated with offers Down Under following a really successful tour there." D'Acampo, who won I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here in the Australian jungle in 2009, reportedly fell in love with the country during his 2019 Aussie Escapes tour and is now exploring properties in Melbourne. 'He spent some time in Australia a few years ago, and loved it,' the source added. 'He still has a large social media following and plans to capitalise on that in the next stage of his career.' His wife Jessica and their three children are reportedly expected to remain in the UK for now, though 'if all goes well, Australia is a full-time option". The move follows the collapse of his restaurant business, which went into administration with debts of £7.3 million. He has since listed his £4.2 million Hertfordshire home for sale and is understood to have already bought another property in the UK. The Mirror has approached Gino's representatives for comment on this story.

Gino D'Acampo reveals TV return after ITV axe over misconduct allegations
Gino D'Acampo has confirmed his plans to return to TV after months of controversy following 'inappropriate behaviour' allegations. A matter of months ago, the Italian celebrity chef, 48, faced accusations of misconduct involving his former colleagues. His alleged behaviour was described as 'unacceptable' and 'distressing', and is said to have included sexualised comments and aggressive language on sets. D'Acampo has always 'firmly denied' the allegations and said they are 'deeply upsetting'. The reports led to him retreating from the limelight, as he was removed from ITV's programming in February. But now, D'Acampo is keen to make a comeback and is set to film a new travelogue later this year. He told The Mirror: 'We have a TV project on for later this year in September, I want to go all around Malta, it's a show called An Italian In Malta. 'The idea is to show everyone all over the world a bit about the country—I want to find the perfect restaurant, the perfect recipe, the perfect spot. 'I will speak to the local people [about] what they cook and how they cooked 200 years ago.' But that's not all, as D'Acampo also has a mystery series in the works, which sees him act for the first time. He revealed: 'I am playing a part in a series; my part is this Italian-American mechanic that is always in trouble with the police or always in trouble with the law, and then he became a mechanic, and he's helping the main character in the show. 'This is acting now; I'm not becoming a real mechanic. I'm useless at stuff like that.' The TV personality actually shared a first glimpse of his role in March via images posted on social media. Snaps showed D'Acampo dressed in a navy boiler suit in what appeared to be a car garage. The TV chef had dark oil patches and dirt across his face and was seen taking a drag on a cigarette while looking at a car engine. Some pics also captured him looking at the camera and discussing scripts. 'What a fantastic experience in Ireland working on a new series… I can't wait for you guys to see it… 😎 p.s Happy St Patrick's Day,' read the caption of the post on Instagram. The upload was supported by some of D'Acampo's former colleagues, including Josie Gibson, who worked with him on This Morning. Celebrity Juice star Leigh Francis, aka Keith Lemon, liked the post too, as did John Barrowman, who has been vocal about his support for the star. In December 2024, D'Acampo was first accused of inappropriate behaviour towards a This Morning colleague. The unnamed woman lodged a complaint to ITV over D'Acampo's alleged behaviour towards her while she worked with him on set of the daytime programme from 2006 to 2011, according to The Sun. It was then claimed that he 'thrust his crotch' at a female staffer while filming on a show with Gordon Ramsay and Fred Sirieix, which D'Acampo denied emphatically. D'Acampo told MailOnline at the time: 'I have been completely shocked by, and deny utterly, these awful accusations of sexual harassment and misconduct against me, which are alleged to have taken place years ago during the shooting of Gordon, Gino & Fred. 'Let me be clear: This did not happen. I take such matters extremely seriously and in particular the suggestion that I have deliberately acted in this improper way against any female employees is deeply upsetting.' In February, D'Acampo's former I'm A Celebrity co-star, Kim Woodburn, called him a 'full-of-himself little pig' who made vile comments about his penis while they appeared on TV together. The cookbook author has been supported by celebrities including Jeremy Clarkson and Gordon Ramsay, who revealed he had reached out to his former co-star. As for his upcoming projects, premiere dates are yet to be revealed. More Trending However, the one set in Ireland isn't the first time D'Acampo has worked with cars on screen after appearing on Emission Impossible. The series was a car-related show starring D'Acampo and Sirieix on an eco-friendly adventure across Austria and Croatia to learn the cost of going green. It was axed after two episodes were released in 2024. This article was first published on March 20, 2025. Got a story? Gino D'Acampo's restaurant empire 'owed seven-figure sum' before near-closure
Gino D'Acampo's restaurant chain was saved from the brink of collapse after falling into £7million worth of debt. The scandal-ridden TV chef was booted from ITV programming earlier this year after a series of allegations of sexually inappropriate and bullying behaviour from dozens over his career. It's not the only crisis the former presenter, who has firmly denied all allegations, has had to navigate with his culinary empire was almost forced to shut down due to amassing an eye-watering amount of debt. D'Acampo owns restaurants across London, Leeds, Liverpool, Newcastle and Manchester, totalling 11 locations, an Italian ingredients supplier Bonta Italia Ltd, as well as a line of Asda ready meals. The financial woes, however, became apparent last year when he was unable to pay his staff at his My Pasta Bar chain thanks to the business stacking up £5m worth of losses. It has now come to light that the controlling company Upmarket Leisure – of which the 48-year-old TV personality owns 10% – owed £5.3m to HMRC and almost £2m to creditors ahead of its near-closure. This included food suppliers who were owed almost £500,000, a wine dealer due £302,000 and a pasta company waiting for a £4,809 payment. The statement of affairs, publicly released on June 5, also outlined that Upmarket only had£117,000 in cash at the bank and £320,000 in other assets to cover the debt. In May, the chain was saved when Upmarket was bought out of administration in a whopping £5m deal which secured the jobs of all 400 staff members. It also ensured the payment of £4.2m to two major creditors. At the time, Dean Watson, an administrator Begbies Traynor, said: 'This very well-recognised group of restaurants will be able to continue, under their existing brand, and has the opportunity to thrive again. Meanwhile, D'Acampo is gearing up for an imminent TV comeback since his slew of travel and food shows, as well as his regular spot on This Morning, were stopped. He recently appeared on the radio where he made a series of innuendo-filled, sexually-charged comments towards the female presenter. Earlier this year, he also shared photos of himself on the set of a new project, both in front and behind the camera, with the promise of an upcoming release date. Meanwhile, Gino's official website promises great things ahead, including his career as a restaurateur. More Trending 'Gino is also one of the UK's most successful restaurateurs, with his restaurant empire growing by the day. Gino currently has 7 restaurants across the UK, plus has recently partnered with the global hotel giants to open restaurants both in the UK and overseas. 'Malta is the next international site to open in June 2025, in the 5* ME HOTEL, Mercury Towers,' the site reads.
