Gino D'Acampo reveals TV return after ITV axe over misconduct allegations
A matter of months ago, the Italian celebrity chef, 48, faced accusations of misconduct involving his former colleagues.
His alleged behaviour was described as 'unacceptable' and 'distressing', and is said to have included sexualised comments and aggressive language on sets.
D'Acampo has always 'firmly denied' the allegations and said they are 'deeply upsetting'.
The reports led to him retreating from the limelight, as he was removed from ITV's programming in February.
But now, D'Acampo is keen to make a comeback and is set to film a new travelogue later this year.
He told The Mirror: 'We have a TV project on for later this year in September, I want to go all around Malta, it's a show called An Italian In Malta.
'The idea is to show everyone all over the world a bit about the country—I want to find the perfect restaurant, the perfect recipe, the perfect spot.
'I will speak to the local people [about] what they cook and how they cooked 200 years ago.'
But that's not all, as D'Acampo also has a mystery series in the works, which sees him act for the first time.
He revealed: 'I am playing a part in a series; my part is this Italian-American mechanic that is always in trouble with the police or always in trouble with the law, and then he became a mechanic, and he's helping the main character in the show.
'This is acting now; I'm not becoming a real mechanic. I'm useless at stuff like that.'
The TV personality actually shared a first glimpse of his role in March via images posted on social media.
Snaps showed D'Acampo dressed in a navy boiler suit in what appeared to be a car garage.
The TV chef had dark oil patches and dirt across his face and was seen taking a drag on a cigarette while looking at a car engine.
Some pics also captured him looking at the camera and discussing scripts.
'What a fantastic experience in Ireland working on a new series… I can't wait for you guys to see it… 😎 p.s Happy St Patrick's Day,' read the caption of the post on Instagram.
The upload was supported by some of D'Acampo's former colleagues, including Josie Gibson, who worked with him on This Morning.
Celebrity Juice star Leigh Francis, aka Keith Lemon, liked the post too, as did John Barrowman, who has been vocal about his support for the star.
In December 2024, D'Acampo was first accused of inappropriate behaviour towards a This Morning colleague.
The unnamed woman lodged a complaint to ITV over D'Acampo's alleged behaviour towards her while she worked with him on set of the daytime programme from 2006 to 2011, according to The Sun.
It was then claimed that he 'thrust his crotch' at a female staffer while filming on a show with Gordon Ramsay and Fred Sirieix, which D'Acampo denied emphatically.
D'Acampo told MailOnline at the time: 'I have been completely shocked by, and deny utterly, these awful accusations of sexual harassment and misconduct against me, which are alleged to have taken place years ago during the shooting of Gordon, Gino & Fred.
'Let me be clear: This did not happen. I take such matters extremely seriously and in particular the suggestion that I have deliberately acted in this improper way against any female employees is deeply upsetting.'
In February, D'Acampo's former I'm A Celebrity co-star, Kim Woodburn, called him a 'full-of-himself little pig' who made vile comments about his penis while they appeared on TV together.
The cookbook author has been supported by celebrities including Jeremy Clarkson and Gordon Ramsay, who revealed he had reached out to his former co-star.
As for his upcoming projects, premiere dates are yet to be revealed. More Trending
However, the one set in Ireland isn't the first time D'Acampo has worked with cars on screen after appearing on Emission Impossible.
The series was a car-related show starring D'Acampo and Sirieix on an eco-friendly adventure across Austria and Croatia to learn the cost of going green.
It was axed after two episodes were released in 2024.

'Love Island is modern dating on steroids and that's why it feels so raw'
As entertaining as it is, Love Island is starting to hold up an uncomfortable mirror to modern dating especially for young people. But is Love Island truly identical to dating in 2025? This season of Love Island UK has been one of the most toxic yet. Another day, another islander is humiliated on national TV. Harrison, 22, attracted attention on the ITV2 show for what he described as a "back-and-forth" between his connections with Toni, 24, and Lauren, 26. This included him sleeping with Lauren while estranged from Toni and then encouraging Toni to choose him at the next recoupling. After recoupling with Toni, footballer Harrison ended up continuing to pursue things with Lauren more recently. Lauren was dumped from the villa last week by the actions of a bombshell and Harrison later left to reunite with her. Amid his stint on Love Island, a spokesperson for Women's Aid issued a statement to the Tab, which included mention of women being "lied to, slut-shamed and manipulated, as well as laughed at behind their backs." But Harrison's behaviour isn't the only casual cruelty and humiliation we've seen unfold and passed off as 'banter.' For many fans, the show is a reflection of just how messy modern dating has become. At times, it feels less like entertainment and more like a horrible reality check. While some people can switch off, most can't look away. Author of Real Talk and psychotherapist Tasha Bailey spoke to The Mirror about how shows like this affect dating culture and why so many of us seem drawn to toxic patterns in the first place. Is Love Island a true reflection of dating in 2025? Tasha agrees the show reflects some realities of dating for young people but with key differences. 'This season has especially shown us the ways misogyny shows up in the dating world, with many of the male contestants encouraging each other to act disrespectfully towards women and that creating even more competition between the women themselves,' she said. 'That being said, we have to remember that Love Island doesn't fully reflect everyday life. It lacks diversity and, ultimately, it's made for entertainment purposes,' she added. How public humiliation affects confidence For many viewers, there's real worry about the islanders particularly those who are humiliated on screen and how they'll cope after leaving the villa. She said this shame‑fuelled mindset can crush self‑esteem, invalidate our emotions, and make us ignore red flags in others. 'We learn to depend on other people's opinions and distrust ourselves,' she added. Why are people drawn to toxic relationship patterns Tasha believes we're often pulled towards what feels familiar, even if it's harmful. 'Both in reality TV and real life, we tend to be drawn to relationships that already feel familiar. So even if it's toxic, we're more inclined to repeat patterns we experienced in past romantic or family relationships,' she said. 'The patterns we tolerate and are drawn to often reflect our self‑worth and what we think we deserve.' Love Island takeaways While it's easy to get caught up in the drama, Tasha suggests using shows like Love Island as an opportunity to reflect on what you don't want in a relationship. 'Reality TV lets us bear witness to cycles of toxic patterns and the toll they take on people,' she said. 'But I'd recommend balancing these shows with more wholesome and reflective depictions of romantic relationships to help your brain recognise the green flags, too.' For those who recognise themselves in some of the unhealthy behaviours on screen, she adds 'Understand the narratives you're still carrying about love and relationships, that might be standing in the way of immersing yourself in the next healthy one. "Show compassion to your own unhealthy patterns, they have a root that needs to be attended to.'

Good Morning Britain host issues warning to co-star as he lets slip off-air remark
Good Morning Britain returned on Friday with Kate Garraway and Adil Ray as hosts Good Morning Britain 's Adil Ray was forced to issue a warning to co-star Melvin Odoom on Friday's show. During the latest episode on 1 August, Adil, 51, hosted the ITV show with Kate Garraway, where Melvin, 45, presented the entertainment segment. As chat got onto the Freaky Friday sequel, Freakier Friday, starring original cast members Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, which had its London premiere on Thursday night, Melvin revealed an interesting fact. The presenter said: "Hey Adil, you know Lindsay, right? Are you best mates?" to which a red-faced Adil responded: "You know when I say things off-air, you're not supposed to repeat them! I had dinner with Lindsay, me and Lindsay had dinner together. She's lovely!" This prompted a stunned Kate, 58, to interject with: "Stop, how did this happen, where were you?" to which Adil insisted: "It wasn't a date, before you know, it wasn't a date! It comes as the stars were out in style on Thursday evening at the London premiere of Freakier Friday. Over two decades after the hugely popular first instalment of the film, Jamie Lee and Lindsay were back together and ready for another switch-up. The sequel to 2003 Disney classic Freaky Friday hits cinemas on Friday, August 8. This time it has gone bigger and freakier - as it includes a four-way switch. Lindsay, returning as Anna Coleman, swaps bodies with her daughter, while Jamie, who once again plays the part of Tess Coleman, ends up switching with her soon-to-be step-granddaughter. Other returning cast members include Chad Michael Murray as Jake, who is Anna's on-off boyfriend in the original film, and Mark Hamon as Ryan, who is Anna's stepfather and Tess' husband in the first movie. Meanwhile, Jamie recently opened up on the reason behind the 23-year wait for Freakier Friday. Appearing on BBC's The One Show, Jamie told hosts Alex Jones and Clara Amfo the "truth" behind the decision to delay the film. Alex pointed out: "You really pushed for this movie to happen" to which Jamie agreed: "Yes I did." The Hollywood star added: "The truth is Lindsay had to be old enough to have a 15-year-old daughter. "People would ask me about the movie over and over again around the world and I would say 'yeah we'd love to do it, we love each other and we'd have a great time, Lindsay has to be old enough to be a teenager or the movie doesn't work'. "And then finally, I think it was in Australia, someone said 'she is' and I was like 'what do you mean?' because I've know her since she was 15. "She's a young girl. now she's a young mommy, she's this young girl. I don't know how old she is but someone told me and I was like 'oh, we can make a movie. Let's go'.
