Is Sarah Finally Ready to Face Her Past With Rachel on DAYS? Linsey Godfrey Opens Up

Recently on Days of Our Lives, Sarah kicked Xander out, and now the two are headed for a custody fight over baby Victoria. She doesn't trust his volatility, and he doesn't trust that she'll tell him the truth. The fight over their child only deepens the level of emotions involved. And now that young Rachel is having health issues, Sarah will be thrust down memory lane. Her portrayer, Linsey Godfrey, opened up about Sarah's relationship with Rachel. Godfrey had a chat with Soap Opera Digest and noted that the history of Sarah and Rachel's connection was exciting for her. In years past, Sarah and Eric's (Greg Vaughan) baby Mickey died, but was swapped with Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) and Brady's (Eric Martsolf) child, Rachel. So Sarah spent the first year of the child's life raising her and even managing her cancer care logistics. READ THIS: Delve into the unexpected magic between Xander and Sarah. 'They do have this very interesting, very deep connection, and I love that we are revisiting that,' Godfrey stated. Rachel has recently been having issues with her stomach, which could have something to do with the drama in the DiMera mansion. But, Brady brought her to the hospital to double check, and Sarah's taking a keen interest in helping her erstwhile daughter. READ THIS: Get a look at what's happening next on DAYS. Initially chalking Rachel's issues up to the death of her grandfather, John, Sarah has no idea about the shocking truth that the young girl is sitting on. 'She doesn't really help get down to the bottom of the truth as much,' Godfrey remarked. While Rachel's been a handful over the years, she's also a witness to something that's potentially mind-bending for a little girl. The night of EJ's shooting, Rachel witnessed Johnny pointing a gun at his old man. As yet, we don't know if Johnny actually pulled the trigger, but just seeing such a scene would be overwhelming for a child. Sarah starts to notice that Rachel's got something heavy she wants to unload, 'And she certainly wouldn't think it was something like [Johnny pointing a gun at EJ].' READ THIS: Find out why Sarah no longer plays savior to Xander. Ultimately, Godfrey is happy to revisit the storyline and noted that a conversation about her involvement in Rachel's early years will likely come up between them.

Days of Our Lives June 25: If Johnny Didn't Shoot EJ, Who Did?

Sigh. Here we are, still not knowing who shot EJ. In the Wednesday, June 25 episode of Days of Our Lives, Johnny finally told his story. Johnny (Carson Boatman) told Roman (Josh Taylor) and Marlena (Deidre Hall) that his anger had him seeing red, and parts of the night someone shot EJ (Dan Feuerriegel) were hazy to him. He knows he took the gun from Roman's lockbox and headed to the DiMera mansion. He remembered seeing his dad and being so angry, and pointing the gun at him. And then EJ turned around and asked him what he was doing. He said he never meant to hurt me. And that he didn't mmean for me to have to pay for all the horrible mistkaes that he made. But that the damage was already done. So all that was left was for him to stop me from making the same mistakes that he did. EJ then asked Johnny to give him the gun, and he did. And yet somehow, that gun — Roman's gun — ended up in the planter outside the mansion. So, someone else came in and used that gun to shoot EJ because one bullet is missing, according to Roman. Those were profound and self-aware words from EJ. Yet, ever since that night, Johnny has directed an explosive anger at his dad. He's only now coming out of it, and that must be why he's finally able to tell his story. READ THIS: Here's what's coming up next on DAYS. So, who do we direct our suspicions at now? The show has run through a million different potential culprits. Johnny seemed like too obvious a choice, and we're happy that he wasn't able to pull the trigger. After all, we need Johnny and Chanel (Raven Bowens) to be a happy couple for a while. Maybe we take a look at young Rachel (Alice Halsey), who's clearly suffering in the wake of so many things going wrong in her life. Her stomach issues may indicate a bigger problem. This could be a physical manifestation of a psychological MOAS — Mother Of All Secrets. That Rachel was the one to shoot EJ. It feels like she's one of the only suspects left. That or somehow Adult Rachel (Roslyn Gentle) or Arnold (Galen Gering) somehow did it. Whoever shot EJ, can we all band together and pray that they wrap this mystery up sooner rather than later? READ THIS: What you need to know about the Jensen Ackles (ex-Eric Brady, DAYS) Action Series, Countdown. LOVED Brady (Eric Martsolf) bringing up going to a Cubs game with Philip (John-Paul Lavoisier) when he gets out of the hospital. Loved even more how Philip specified wanting to go to a Chicago Cubs / St. Louis Cardinals game. While this DAYS episode was filmed eight to ten months ago during the 2024 baseball season, what a coincidence that on the day this episode aired, the Cubs are in the midst of a four-game series with the Cardinals in St. Louis. READ THIS: Love is Love in the Afternoon: Here's which soap won Pride Month. It's kind of crazy that Xander (Paul Telfer) wouldn't be happy with a co-parenting situation with Sarah (Linsey Godfrey). Why he thinks he should have full custody of Victoria is unbelievable. Does he equate Sarah lying to him with everything that he's done? Please do not let this be a Brady/Kristen (Stacy Haiduk) situation where the judge didn't take any of Kristen's past crimes into consideration, and she got full custody of Rachel. Because everybody knows what Xander's done to Sarah and many others in town. That's the only way other than bribery that Xander could get full custody. What are your thoughts on Wednesday's DAYS? Days of our Lives Casting Surprise! Conner Floyd Is The New Chad

Days of Our Lives has a new Chad DiMera! Conner Floyd, who is still airing as Chance on The Young and the Restless, begins filming as Chad on June 23rd, according to Deadline. Billy Flynn, the current Chad, just started airing on Y&R as Cane Ashby on June 19th, after it was discovered that his original character, Aristotle Dumas, was actually Cane. Because DAYS films so far in advance, Flynn will air on Y&R and Days simultaneously until early 2026. Floyd will start airing as Chad in April 2026. MORE: Here's what you need to know about Conner Floyd. Flynn recently spoke to TV Insider about taking over the role. When Billy Flynn first sat down with Y&R head writer and executive producer Josh Griffith, he had no idea he was being considered for the role of Cane Ashby. It wasn't until later that the opportunity was laid out—and once it was, Flynn dove in headfirst. He began studying the character's history, revisiting past episodes, and focusing particularly on Cane's longtime romance with Lily, played by Christel Khalil. Although his version of Cane will bring notable differences—such as a change in accent and age dynamic—Flynn emphasized that the emotional anchor of the character remains the same. 'There was a chemistry that I was like, 'Okay, it's gonna be good,'' Flynn recalled, describing his immediate connection with Khalil during their first scene together. He's confident that the deep bond between Cane and Lily will still be the emotional centerpiece, no matter how the character evolves. 'Lily is Cane's one true love,' he said. 'I know how to do that.' Flynn is no stranger to taking on roles with rich histories, and while he acknowledges the work done by original portrayer Daniel Goddard, he's not looking to mimic what came before. Instead, he sees this as a chance to offer a new, fully realized interpretation of Cane. 'We're going to rebrand it a bit,' he explained, noting that his portrayal would be distinct yet rooted in the heart of who Cane is. As Cane makes his dramatic return to Genoa City, fans can expect a refreshed take on the character—one that promises to stay true to the essence of Cane, while pushing him into uncharted territory. Flynn's approach might be different, but the legacy of the character—and especially the love story at its center—remains firmly intact. Casey Deidrick originated the role of Chad in 2009. Flynn stepped into the role in 2014. Chad began a popular romance with Abigail Deveraux. WATCH THIS: Did you know Soap Hub has a podcast?! Check it out here!
