Boxing icon Butterbean sends fight offer to Jake Paul after shedding over 200lbs

Butterbean has sent a direct message to Jake Paul, telling the YouTube star that he is "coming for him" following his unanimous decision victory over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr Butterbean has threatened to come out of retirement as he issued a bold challenge to Jake Paul, following his body transformation. The ex-boxer, whose real name is Eric Esch, hasn't fought since his 2013 defeat to Kirk Lawton. However, the 58-year-old insists he is ready to return, but for one fight only. In an Instagram video promoting Lucky Energy, the former heavyweight champion claims that Paul "runs his damn mouth too much" and mocks him for only being able to fight "retired bald men" - which is a likely dig at his controversial win over Mike Tyson. ‌ The video showcases Butterbean's collaboration with the energy drink company and his 'Knockout Punch' flavour. In the skit, a Paul lookalike responds to the challenge before getting hit by a wheelchair, thrown by Butterbean's fake promoter, Mr Lucky. ‌ This new callout comes after Problem Child's recent improvement to a 12-1 record, following a unanimous decision victory over Julio Cesar Chavez Jr on Saturday night. Although Paul made several callouts post-fight, he did not respond to a match with Butterbean. Despite the likely comedic intent behind Butterbean's challenge as part of an advert, it isn't the first time the ex-boxer has tried to square off with Paul in the ring. Before the highly anticipated bout between Tyson and Paul in November 2024, Butterbean revealed he was prepared to step into the ring with the 28-year-old if necessary. In a TikTok video posted just before the fight, the former heavyweight champ said: "Mike Tyson and Jake Paul, I am going to be at the fight to challenge the winner of the fight, Yeah. Mike, if you fall out again, I'll be there to take your place." ‌ Butterbean first expressed his desire to take on the Problem Child back in March 2022 when Paul had an undefeated record of 5-0, having beaten the likes of Tyron Woodley, Ben Askren, and Nate Robinson. Discussing his impressive weight loss and return to training after retirement, Butterbean said: "I'm working with DDP (Diamond Dallas Page) to get up walking and running around again and I'm feeling the best shape I ever have. ‌ "I'm at fight weight. You'll have to listen to my podcast coming up to find exactly how much weight I have lost, but I haven't weighed this in over 20 years so that'll give you an idea. "The big announcement is I'm gonna fight one last fight. It's gonna be one year from now. Jake Paul, if you're ready, I'm here for you my friend. Let's get it on, me and you Jake Paul. I bet it would be an awesome fight. After you said what you said about me in the magazine, I'm ready to fight you. Are you ready? I don't think so." There have been many more callouts since then, but the duo have not yet met to discuss the terms of what could be a sensational showdown in the sport. However, Butterbean's recent jibe at the young fighter might just be the catalyst needed to bring them together in the ring for possibly the most unusual fight to date.

Manufacturing sector driving UP's economy towards trn dollar goal

Lucknow: The secondary sector, at Rs 6.16 lakh crore, contributes 26.1% to the State Gross Value Added (SGVA), which measures the total value of goods and services produced within a state. According to the recent report on District Domestic Product by the economics and statistics division of UP govt's planning department, the manufacturing sub-sector, which is a significant component of the secondary sector, was identified as a significant contributor to the govt's goal of becoming a USD 1 trillion economy. Manufacturing contributes 10.2% to the state's GDP but recorded an increase of only 1.3% over the previous year, highlighting its immense potential for growth. According to DDP estimates for 2023-24, top five districts contributing most to the SGVA include Gautam Budh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Kanpur Nagar, Lucknow, and Agra. The top five districts which displayed the highest growth are Etah, Sitapur, Banda, Baghpat, and Barabanki. "From the results of the Annual Survey of Industries (ASI), GVA undertaken by the Govt of India plays a major role in the estimation of GVA of the manufacturing sector. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Giao dịch vàng CFDs với sàn môi giới tin cậy IC Markets Tìm hiểu thêm Undo This survey covers units registered under the Factories Act. The total SGVA estimated from ASI was Rs 1.65 lakh crore, in which the top five districts with the highest contribution are Gautam Budh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Kanpur Nagar, Kanpur Dehat, and Lucknow," a govt spokesperson said. ASI also indicates growth in industrial sector. The total number of factories in 2023-24, according to ASI, was 22,303, which was 15.6% more as compared to 2022-23. This growth indicates a shift towards the formalisation of industrial sector. Top five districts with maximum number of factories are Gautam Budh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Kanpur Nagar, Agra, and Meerut. These districts also have higher number of factories employing more than 100 workers. Consumption of electricity is a crucial input for any industrial development. The share of top five districts in electricity consumption for industrial purposes are Gautam Budh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Kanpur Nagar, Muzaffarnagar, and Kanpur Dehat. Among other indicators proving growth in UP's manufacturing sector is an increase in workers in manufacturing-related MSME industries by 60.8% over the previous year. Top five districts contributing the most to employment opportunities created in the industrial sector, both in factories registered under the Factories Act and MSME, have been Gautam Budh Nagar, Ghaziabad, Agra, Kanpur Nagar, and Lucknow. Principal secretary, planning, Alok Kumar said that the state was working towards holistic economic progress by developing the manufacturing sector. "This has also attracted investors towards UP. Sectoral policies like UP Food Processing Policy, UP Textile and Garments Policy, Electronics Manufacturing Policy, UP Green Hydrogen Policy, Semi-Conductor Policy, Incentive Policy for Foreign Direct Investment and Investment of Fortune Global-500 Companies, Investment and Employment Promotion Policy, and Export Policy have been important in creating a positive industrial ecosystem," he said.

Dave Meltzer Gives Match A Negative Rating, Calls It The Worst Match He's Ever Seen

Dave Meltzer calls Minoru Suzuki vs. Butterbean the worst match he's ever seen. Wrestling journalist Dave Meltzer didn't hold back in his review of a recent bout featuring Minoru Suzuki and Butterbean. Writing in the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, he called the match the worst he's ever seen. Advertisement At WrestleCon's Mark Hitchcock Memorial SuperShow, Minoru Suzuki faced Butterbean, which had Butterbean, recovering from a leg injury. He struggled to move, the match also had Dan Severn as referee, who was also limited by age. Reacting to the match, Dave Meltzer said, 'The match was brutally bad. It was said that it would have been the worst match anyone had seen this year except the next match happened. Minoru Suzuki wrestled Butterbean do a double count out. This was, in fact, the worst pro wrestling match I've ever seen. Unlike the last match, at least this one the crowd was so sympathetic to Butterbean that they made a lot of noise, chanted 'Fight Forever,' and after the double count out chanted 'one more round.' 'Dan Severn was referee. Severn, who is almost 67, was not moving well. Butterbean couldn't move at all. There was a story that he was recovering from a broken leg. He had been wheelchair bound and terribly overweight, and worked with DDP to where he's out of the wheelchair and can kind of move, but not move in the sense to do a pro wrestling match. They were filming a documentary so he wasn't allowed to lose. In the condition he was in, Suzuki couldn't possibly lose to him. Plus if he was on his back it would have been hard for him to get back up. They did the double count out and announced a double count out. People booed that heavily.' Dave Meltzer gives -459.7 star rating to Minoru Suzuki vs. Butterbean match 'They wanted another round (they were doing two minute rounds, it ended late second round) or at least chanted that way. I do get this was so awful it was perversely entertaining unlike the prior match which just seemed like the crowd was stunned watching how bad it was. Then Severn talked to the ring announcer and I figured they were going to give the crowd one more round, and the ring announcer again said it was a double count out. I have no idea why you'd announce that a second time, and the second time people booed louder because they actually wanted it to continue. This was -459.7 stars, like the worst match ever (-273.15 if you live outside the U.S.). Worse that the Sheik & Volkoff match on Heroes of Wrestling.' Advertisement 'I was told Suzuki was very upset backstage because he had never had a match this bad. The reality is none of this was Suzuki's fault. Butterbean had no business in the ring. The thing is, people were really into the idea of the match and thought it was awesome when it was announced, and nobody had any hopes for it to be good match. But I can't imagine anyone expected anything this bad. The main event was Zack Sabre Jr. & Shane Haste & Bad Dude Tito over Flip Gordon & Hechicero & Michael Oku in a ***½ match when Sabre tapped out Gordon.' Meltzer mentioned that Suzuki was reportedly upset backstage following his match. As he never experienced a match of such low quality match. J&K CM Omar Abdullah calls for data-driven planning

Srinagar, May 26 (UNI) Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Monday called for data-driven planning to guide the Union Territory towards the long-term goal of Viksit J & K by 2047. He underlined the importance of setting short-term, district-level goals rooted in data analysis and tailored to the specific needs and potential of each region. He stated this while chairing a comprehensive review meeting of the Planning, Development & Monitoring Department at the Civil Secretariat, where detailed presentations were made on three critical initiatives — the Sustainable Development Goals Coordination Centre (SDGCC), District Domestic Product (DDP), and the District Good Governance Index (DGGI). 'What we now require is targeted district-level planning — identifying where the potential lies and where gaps need to be filled. These short-term objectives will cumulatively guide us toward our long-term goal of Viksit Jammu & Kashmir by 2047,' he said. He cautioned against focusing solely on the distant 2047 horizon, emphasising the need to set medium- and short-term benchmarks that allow for real-time performance tracking and corrective action. The Chief Minister welcomed the data presented during the meeting, especially insights from Mission Yuva, and called for its integration into sectoral planning across departments. Referring to Mission Yuva and the DGGI reports, the Chief Minister stressed the importance of using this data constructively. 'These findings must improve our planning and programmes. I urge all line departments and district administrations to reorient their schemes in a manner that addresses the issues highlighted by both data sets,' he said. He said that the District Good Governance Index should not be perceived as a ranking of 'good versus bad' governance, but as a barometer of 'good to better' governance. 'Districts that have shown strong performance must continue to lead by example, while those that lag must be supported to identify structural gaps and implement reforms. Any such systemic constraints should be immediately brought to the Secretariat's attention for resolution,' he added. Touching upon Jammu & Kashmir's performance in national rankings, the Chief Minister shared a balanced view. 'While we are currently ranked second among Union Territories, that comparison is limited given the nature of UTs. What is more important — and encouraging — is our 10th place rank nationally. That shows we're holding our ground, but we must do better,' he remarked. Abdullah expressed gratitude to NITI Aayog and UNDP for their sustained technical support. The Chief Minister reiterated the importance of focused and data-backed governance. 'Let us approach our goals step by step — start with targeted short-term interventions at the district level, scale up to territory-wide strategies, and ultimately work towards the overarching vision of Viksit Jammu & Kashmir 2047,' he added.
