Will People Care About the ‘Minecraft' Chicken Jockey From the Comfort of Their Homes?

A Minecraft Movie already had a towering built-in fan base thanks to its source material being the best-selling video game of all time. But few could have predicted that the movie—a goofy comedy starring Jack Black and Jason Momoa as human characters who get pulled into the chaotic cubic world—would become a Rocky Horror-style interactive sensation, with wild antics in theaters going viral almost overnight. Director Jared Hess found the 'chicken jockey' frenzy to be hilarious; star Black took a somewhat more measured tone. But theaters knew anything that puts butts in seats is a good thing, and promoted 'Block Party Edition' screenings especially for fans who wanted to sing and scream and meme along. Now the chance to view A Minecraft Movie on streaming—whether you want to embrace the madness (please, no live barnyard animals!) or simply watch one of the year's biggest surprise hits in peace—is nearly here. It hits Max June 20, and HBO linear on June 21. Max will also feature a version of A Minecraft Movie with an American Sign Language, further expanding the movie's potential reach. Here's the official synopsis for anyone who doesn't have an instant visceral reaction to the line 'I… am Steve!': 'Welcome to the world of Minecraft, where creativity doesn't just help you craft, it's essential to one's survival! Four misfits—Garrett 'The Garbage Man' Garrison (Jason Momoa), Henry (Sebastian Hansen), Natalie (Emma Myers), and Dawn (Danielle Brooks)—find themselves struggling with ordinary problems when they are suddenly pulled through a mysterious portal into the Overworld: a bizarre, cubic wonderland that thrives on imagination. To get back home, they'll have to master this world (and protect it from evil things like Piglins and Zombies, too) while embarking on a magical quest with an unexpected, expert crafter, Steve (Jack Black). Together, their adventure will challenge all five to be bold and to reconnect with the qualities that make each of them uniquely creative…the very skills they need to thrive back in the real world.' A sequel to A Minecraft Movie has not yet been officially announced, but given the first film's success—and Hess' enthusiasm about returning; in April, he told Deadline that 'it seems like there's already talk about [a sequel] happening, so I'm super excited. It'll be so much fun to go back into the world'—makes it seem very likely. Will you stream A Minecraft Movie at home, and if so… how crazy are you going to get while watching it?

Peacemaker season 2 finally has a teaser trailer – here are 3 things you need to know about the hit Max show's return

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. It's official: Peacemaker season 2 will be streaming on Max from Thursday, August 21 at 9.00pm ET/PT. John Cena will be back as the titular hero, and many villains' butts will be kicked. The official synopsis says: "The new season follows Christopher 'Chris' Smith, aka Peacemaker, the vigilante Super Hero as he struggles to reconcile his past with his newfound sense of purpose while continuing to kick righteous evil-doer butt in his misguided quest for peace at any cost." Season 1 stars John Cena, Danielle Brooks, Jennifer Holland, Freddie Stroma, Steve Agee and Robert Patrick are all back, and this time around they're joined by a new cast that includes by Frank Grillo, David Denman, Sol Rodriguez, and Tim Meadows. As you'll see from the trailer below, the second season looks set to deliver one of the best Max show's trademark mix of whip-cracking action and whip-smart wisecracking. Here's what you need to know. One of the problems facing season 2 is that it's in a different universe to season 1: James Gunn set Peacemaker season 1 in the DC Extended Universe, which is now gone, so season 2 takes place in the DCU. That raises lots of questions, which we've explained in our in-depth hub (linked above). It looks like at least part of the answer is at the end of the trailer, which shows not only Peacemaker but also... Peacemaker. If they aren't the DCU Peacemaker and the DCEU Peacemaker then we'll be amazed. In the trailer we see Peacemaker auditioning very uncomfortably for Maxwell Lord's Justice League, while Guy Gardner and Hawkgirl look on. Presumably this was filmed during production of Superman, which means we shouldn't expect them to play a huge part in season 2. But it's interesting because this Justice League is much more fun than the DCEU one, especially in its portrayal of Hawkgirl. It looks like Flagg Sr. is going to be a key character in season 2 after his starring role in the Creature Commandos animated series, and he's got very good reasons to go after Peacemaker: in The Suicide Squad (spoiler alert!), Peacemaker killed his son. That makes him more nuanced than the usual superhero show villain: he's not a monster; he's a grieving parent. Going by this new trailer there's lots to be excited about, so August can't come soon enough. Season 2 of Peacemaker will be streaming on Max from August 21 and will see Rick Flag Sr "on a mission" for justice. The first season of Peacemaker is streaming on Max in the US and Now in the UK. Peacemaker season 2 release date finally confirmed as new footage of popular HBO TV show revealed in Max sizzle reel trailer What is the release date and time for The Last of Us season 2 episode 5? Fun New Trailer for the Animated Comedy Heist Movie THE BAD GUYS 2 — GeekTyrant

DreamWorks Animation has released a second trailer for animated comedy heist movie The Bad Guys 2 , which finds the crew from the first movie struggling to find trust and acceptance in their newly minted lives as Good Guys. It's at this point in their journey where they are forced to do one last job, with a female crew of criminals, known as The Bad Girls . The synopsis reads: 'Everyone's favorite felons are back, and this time, they've got company. In the new action-packed chapter from DreamWorks Animation's acclaimed comedy smash about a crackerjack crew of animal outlaws, our now-reformed Bad Guys are trying (very, very hard) to be good, but instead find themselves hijacked into a high-stakes, globe-trotting heist, masterminded by a new team of criminals they never saw coming: The Bad Girls.' The Bad Guys 2 brings back the great original cast of Sam Rockwell, Marc Maron, Craig Robinson, Anthony Ramos, and Awkwafina. Newcomers include Danielle Brooks as The Bad Girls leader Kitty Kat, a clever snow leopard; Maria Bakalova as Pigtail, a brilliant Bulgarian wild boar engineer; Natasha Lyonne as Doom, a wry raven with a knack for deception. This actually looks like it'll be a fun follow-up to the first movie. The Bad Guys 2 is once again directed by Pierre Perifel, making his second feature after the first film and lots of work as an animator at DreamWorks previously. it was co-directed by JP Sans, who was head of character animation on the first film. The film is adapted from the Scholastic book series by Aaron Blabey, and it will be released in theaters starting August 1st, 2025.
