‘Peacemaker' Season 2 Trailer: John Cena And Danielle Brooks Are Back In Action
The new season drops this summer, with Cena being joined by returning cast members Danielle Brooks, Jennifer Holland, Freddie Stroma, Steve Agee and Robert Patrick.
New cast members include Tim Meadows, Sol Rodriguez, Frank Grillo and David Denman. The first season also featured Viola Davis in a cameo role as Amanda Waller; no word on if she will show up again as a surprise.
Peacemaker continues following the life of Chris Smith, who wants to be a superhero, but does so with sometimes less-than-superhero methods. According to the official description:
The new season follows Christopher 'Chris' Smith, aka Peacemaker, the vigilante Super Hero as he struggles to reconcile his past with his newfound sense of purpose while continuing to kick righteous evil-doer butt in his misguided quest for peace at any cost.'
Cena and James Gunn serve as creators, with Gunn writing all eight episodes and directing three, including the first episode. Gunn, Cena and Peter Safran also serve as executive producers. Other series directors include Althea Jones, Peter Sollett and Greg Mottola.

Tensions are running high on Countdown, as lead after lead on slippery Volchek comes up empty — or, worse, steers Task Force Hurricane into a dead end because someone apparently is snitching on their next moves. News Shuts Down and More That was the case this week, in Episode 7 (of 13), when the team's stealthy raid of a company that works with fissile materials turned up only a smug lawyer sitting inside a recently emptied warehouse. SAC Blythe (played by Eric Dane) was quick to call out the SWAT team leader for having a rat in his ranks, but for naught. Is there a mole in the midst? Adding to the paranoia was an earlier scene between FBI Special Agent Keyonte Bell (The Boys' Elliot Knight) and District Attorney Grayson Valwell (Merrick McCartha), the same ambitious politico who has been (unsuccessfully!) bugging Blythe to keep him apprised of each and every development. Valwell spoke of how he worked with Bell's father and, more pointedly, how Bell's father (ahem) knew what to do to get ahead. Valwell clearly was courting Bell to be his man on the inside. And one might not fault Bell for being susceptible to such an overture, given how stung he was when Blythe chided him for mocking a colleague's bad tip. Of all Hurricane members, Bell 'definitely has the most to prove, and I think he's the most focused on how he can prove himself,' portrayer Elliot Knight tells TVLine. But if Bell continues to struggle to impress his SAC, there could be the temptation to at least consider alternative paths up the professional ladder. 'This is a big deal to be a part of a task force like this, but I do think it's important to Bell that his eye is on the prize, and that is to rise up the ranks,' says Knight. 'My question, as Elliot, is why does it sting?' to get dinged by Blythe. 'Is it as simple as him wanting to be the director of the FBI one day? What else is at play?' Luckily, viewers did not have to wait until next week to find out if Bell took the bait. Because at episode's end — as part of a montage that also included Mark confiding his tumor sitch with Amber and Volchek leading some Belarusian adversaries into a brilliantly explosive trap — Bell met again with Valwell to assert his loyalty to Blythe & Co. and acknowledge that, yes, his father was many things that he isn't. 'Bell knows that Valwell had a professional relationship with his father, and Valwell speaks to that and almost floats the sense of power over Bell — 'I worked with your dad and he made the right choice, because he knew what to do,'' Knight notes. 'It's a test for Bell to see what he will do.' But did Bell pass said test by refusing to be a snitch? Or is he perhaps cunningly playing a long game? 'There's a question mark over what happened in the past' with his father, says Knight, and 'either Bell has committed to this sense of justice and that's what he's going to fight for always, or there's something else he's looking to work towards. THE BOYS Final Season Comic-Con Footage Reveals Homelander's 'Safer, God-Fearing Nation' — GeekTyrant
The Boys made sure to leave its mark at San Diego Comic-Con, capping off the Gen V panel with the very first teaser for its fifth and final season. Shown to fans in Ballroom 20, the teaser didn't waste a second serving up bloody chaos, shocking moments, and some big surprises that the fans loved. The footage was a rapid-fire glimpse into the carnage we've come to expect. Among the standout moments: a mysterious new supe vomiting what looked like a bloody hairball onto someone else, and a gruesome scene involving a violent explosion inside a bathroom stall. So, it's still very much The Boys we know and love, unapologetically brutal and darkly hilarious. One of the more crazier moments came from Antony Starr's Homelander. In the teaser's most chilling line, he declares, 'This is a safer, more god-fearing nation,' his voice echoing like a sermon to an unseen crowd. After the events of Season 4, Homelander's grip on America has only tightened. He's essentially the power behind the White House now, the country is under martial law, and those who refuse to 'make America super again' are being hunted, including Butcher and his crew. Fans also got a few unexpected cameos. Seth Rogen, an executive producer on the series, pops up once again. Then Supernatural 's Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins also both make appearances in quick shots. This marks yet another reunion for showrunner Eric Kripke, who previously brought Jensen Ackles ( Soldier Boy ) and Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Joe Kessler) into the fold. Longtime Supernatural fans have been begging for more of their favorites to join The Boys, and Kripke delivered. At least one familiar face from Gen V makes the leap, with London Thor's Jordan Li spotted in the footage. That crossover shouldn't surprise anyone, given that Gen V characters Maddie Phillips and Asa Germann showed up in Season 4's finale as Homelander loyalists. The synergy between the two shows continues this fall when The Boys stars Erin Moriarty and Chace Crawford appear in Gen V Season 2. Returning cast members for this final chapter include Jack Quaid, Karl Urban, Jessie T. Usher, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Laz Alonso, Nathan Mitchell, Colby Minifie, Cameron Crovetti, Susan Heyward, and Valorie Curry. New faces joining the chaos are Daveed Diggs and Paul Reiser. As for Seth Rogen's role? That remains to be seen, but given his track record of stealing scenes, fans are ready for whatever he brings. The endgame for The Boys is coming, but it's not arriving tomorrow. The fifth and final season will premiere sometime in 2026 on Prime Video.

Company involved in Coldplay KissCam drama hires Gwyneth Paltrow as spokesperson
BOSTON — Astronomer — the company whose CEO resigned after being caught on a KissCam at a Coldplay rock concert embracing a woman who was not his wife — is trying to move on from the drama with someone who knows the band pretty well. Actress Gwyneth Paltrow, who was married to Coldplay's frontman Chris Martin for 13 years, announced Friday on X that she has been hired by Astronomer as a spokesperson. Astronomer, a tech company based in New York, found itself in an uncomfortable spotlight when two of its executives were caught on camera in an intimate embrace at a Coldplay concert — a moment that was then flashed on a giant screen in the stadium. CEO Andy Byron and human resource executive Kristin Cabot were caught by surprise when Martin asked the cameras to scan the crowd during a concert earlier this month. 'Either they're having an affair or they're just very shy,' Martin joked when the couple appeared on screen and quickly tried to hide their faces. In a short video, the 'Shakespeare in Love' and 'Ironman' star said she had been hired as a 'very temporary' spokesperson for Astronomer. Online streams of Coldplay's songs jumped 20% in the days after the video went viral, according to Luminate, an industry data and analytics company.
