David Pollack Names Power Four Program That Might Be the Worst in College Football

David Pollack Names Power Four Program That Might Be the Worst in College Football originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The 2025 college football season is fast approaching, and while many people are focused on which teams will finish at the top, others are concerned about which teams might end up at the bottom. Advertisement College football analyst David Pollack shared his thoughts during a preview of the ACC on his podcast, "See Ball Get Ball with David Pollack." He expressed his belief that the Stanford Cardinal could not only be the worst team in the ACC but potentially the worst team in the entire country. In contrast, ESPN's Football Power Index (FPI) predicts that the Wake Forest Demon Deacons will finish last in the ACC. The FPI forecasts that both teams will have a record of 5-7 in the upcoming season. Cal Poly Mustangs running back Aiden Ramos (5) and Stanford Cardinal linebacker David Bailey (23). Sergio Estrada-Imagn Images "Is Stanford the worst team in college football?" Pollack asked. "They have a good defensive end, bam, he's gone. They've got a good receiver, bam, he's gone. The coach has been there like 10 days. They've got a new GM in Andrew Luck, who is going to learn how to do this stuff on the fly. It's just tough. I can't imagine that Stanford is going to be very good." Advertisement Stanford faced significant changes following the 2024 season due to the transfer portal. The Cardinal fired head coach Troy Taylor in March and hired Frank Reich as his replacement. Although Reich lacks experience as a college head coach, he previously led the Indianapolis Colts and the Carolina Panthers. Before that, he served as the offensive coordinator for the Philadelphia Eagles during their Super Bowl win with Nick Foles at quarterback. Overall, Stanford lost 27 players to the transfer portal but managed to bring in 18 new players. One of the most notable departures was quarterback Ashton Daniels, who threw for 3,947 yards and 21 touchdowns over the last two seasons. Daniels chose to transfer to Auburn, where he will compete for the starting quarterback position. Another significant loss for the Cardinal was star pass rusher David Bailey, who transferred to the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Last season, Bailey recorded 31 tackles, eight tackles for loss and seven sacks. Advertisement Stanford will need to find ways to replace these key players while also striving to prove critics wrong and have a successful season. David Pollack Reveals SEC Team That Could Surprise Everyone

David Pollack Reveals SEC Team That Could Surprise Everyone originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Each year, a college football program unexpectedly emerges and surprises the nation with a strong season. Advertisement Last season, the Indiana Hoosiers, Arizona State Sun Devils and SMU Mustangs were not highly regarded heading into the season; however, all three ended the year in the College Football Playoff. None of those three teams won a game in the playoffs, yet they still made it and surprised the nation. The question now is: which team could surprise everyone this season? Even if they don't make the playoffs, can they bounce back after some disappointing seasons? On "See Ball Get Ball with David Pollack," the college football analyst expressed his belief that the Auburn Tigers, who are on a four-season losing streak, could surprise people this season. I think the offensive line is really good. I think it's deep. I think it's experienced. Talk about the best one-two punch at wide receiver in the country. I will take Auburn. Because I love having a variation of guys who can do different things... I think Auburn is going at least 8-4. I think they can kind of take off and do better and be one of those surprise teams, too, because they've got so much talent across both sides of the football." Advertisement ESPN's Football Power Index (FPI), which measures team strength and predicts future performance for the remainder of the season, is somewhat aligning with Pollack's views on the Tigers this year. The FPI predicts that Auburn will win seven games in 2025, with a 21.8% chance of making it to the College Football Playoff. One advantage for Auburn is its schedule, which Athlon Sports' Kyle Wood ranks as the fourth-easiest in the SEC. Wood agrees with Paul Finebaum that the season-opening game against Baylor could set the tone for Auburn's entire season. Auburn's most challenging games will take place at Jordan-Hare Stadium, where they will host the Georgia Bulldogs, Alabama Crimson Tide and Missouri Tigers. Additionally, Auburn will kick off SEC play with back-to-back away games against Oklahoma and the Texas A&M Aggies. These matchups are critical, especially given Auburn's 1-3 record in away games last season. Auburn will kick off the season against Baylor on Friday, Aug. 29, at 8:00 p.m. ET. Hugh Freeze Breaks Silence on Backlash for his Golfing

Hugh Freeze Breaks Silence on Backlash for his Golfing originally appeared on Athlon Sports. Auburn Tigers head coach Hugh Freeze enters the 2025 season with an 11-14 record and one bowl game appearance. Advertisement Freeze has been doing some golfing recently, which sparked outrage from fans, given that he has not had a winning season with Auburn yet. He addressed the concerns on a recent episode of "See Ball Get Ball with David Pollack," emphasizing his commitment to the Tigers. Auburn went to a bowl game in Freeze's first season with the program in 2023 but lost to the Maryland Terrapins in the Music City Bowl 31-13. In 2024, Auburn narrowly missed the postseason after losing the final game of the regular season to the Alabama Crimson Tide 28-14. I enjoy playing, but what people don't realize is, you know, I assure you that I never missed a camp day or a recruiting day, but if camp got over at three o'clock one day, and Jill and I go out at 4:30, we absolutely might do that. And I'm not apologizing for that part of it. But my focus is 100% on getting Auburn in that win column this fall." Advertisement The 2025 season has not officially kicked off, but Auburn has already had a tough time lately, especially when it comes to recruiting. The Tigers have lost Shadarius Toodle to the Georgia Bulldogs, Devin Carter to the Florida State Seminoles and most recently Denairius Gray to the Kentucky Wildcats. Freeze and Auburn face the Baylor Bears to open the year on August 29. Kick off is at 8 p.m. ET on Fox. Ex-ESPN host delivers creepy remark on Jordon Hudson as he previews Bill Belichick's debut season at UNC

Bill Belichick 's girlfriend Jordon Hudson isn't just popular with septuagenarians. The 24-year-old former cheerleader has also caught the eye of 43-year-old podcaster, ex-ESPN host and former NFL defensive end David Pollack. During a recent episode of his 'See Ball, Get Ball,' program, the former Cincinnati Bengals star addressed Belichick's upcoming debut season at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. 'I have no clue what to expect from Chapel Bill except a hot honey walking the sidelines,' Pollack said in a clear nod to Hudson. 'That's all I know is going to happen.' Hudson's constant proximity to Belichick has been a major topic since he accepted the Tar Heels job in December. However, for all the time she's been spending with her rumored finacee, Hudson is not expected to be walking the sidelines with Belichick in Chapel Hill. The legendary New England Patriots coach has already ruled out that possibility, telling reports in June: 'She doesn't have any role in the UNC football program.' Pollack, a former Georgia star, also discussed the pre-draft process with Belichick in 2005, when he was the 17th overall pick by the Cincinnati Bengals. 'One room was very different, and that was the Patriots with Belichick,' Pollack said. 'He chimed in, he asked questions. He asked questions about the scar on my head. No one else asked about that. No one else asked about the accident when I fell down the stairs on a house boat.' Pollack would play only three NFL seasons before his career was cut short by injuries. Belichick arrival at UNC has already led tp Raleigh's WRAL News published a bombshell report Friday after receiving those internal emails in response to a public records request. Much of the discussion centers on the fallout from Belichick's disastrous CBS interview , in which he and Hudson refused to discuss the origin of their widely discussed romance . However, the public records request also revealed an exchange between media relations staffer Brigitta Shouppe and senior associate vice chancellor in the Office of University Communications Beth Keith in which they discussed criticism from an alum. 'Never did I think UNC would become a laughing stock in the sports world because of his young girlfriend,' the UNC grad wrote in an email, as reported by WRAL. Shouppe responded to Keith hours later with a proposed response, albeit one that misspelled Belichick as 'Belichik' throughout. 'Thank you for reaching out, for sharing your views, and for your continued engagement and interest in Carolina,' read the proposed statement. 'Coach Belichik [sic] brings a wealth of experience in coaching and football at the highest levels. The news media has demonstrated an ongoing interest in those previous experiences and activities outside of Kenan Stadium.' Despite Belichick 's celebrated arrival at UNC and the uproar surrounding his relationship with Hudson , the new Tar Heels football coach's name was continuously misspelled by school officials in internal emails. The school has since clarified that Hudson is not employed at UNC, but remains welcome in the athletic department. Jordon assists me with my personal media, which is why I asked UNC to forward media requests (E.G. CBS 60 Minutes) to her. 'Jordon has zero involvement in the UNC football program, beyond the degree that my personal media intersects with it.' The Tar Heels open their 2025 season at home against TCU on September 1.

David Pollack Revealed Who Will Win the ACC Without Hesitation

David Pollack Revealed Who Will Win the ACC Without Hesitation originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The 2025 college football season is just under two months away from kicking off. This week marked the beginning of media days for some of the power conferences, with the Big 12 hosting its event. Advertisement As a result, national analysts have started making predictions for the upcoming season. Former ESPN "College GameDay" analyst David Pollack has been sharing his forecasts on his podcast, "See Ball Get Ball with David Pollack." In a recent episode, he talked about the ACC and highlighted one team that he believes stands out from the rest: the Clemson Tigers. Last season, the Tigers won the conference by defeating the SMU Mustangs with a last-second field goal. Clemson Tigers offensive coordinator Garrett Riley talks with quarterback Cade Klubnik (2) on the Ruinard-Imagn Images "I'm going to pick Clemson," Pollack said. "If you don't, you are probably crazy." Pollack is confident that Clemson will reach the ACC Championship Game in 2025, though he is unsure who the Tigers will face in their quest for another conference title. He noted that Clemson has won the ACC championship in eight of the last ten seasons and has faced seven different teams during those years. There is considerable optimism surrounding the Tigers this season. Advertisement Clemson is ranked No. 1 in the nation for returning production, with over 80% of its overall production from last year coming back. A key player returning to the team is quarterback Cade Klubnik, who had an impressive season last year. He threw for 3,639 yards, 36 touchdowns and only six interceptions in his second year as the starter. In addition to Klubnik, Clemson is bringing back several key players, including defensive tackle Peter Woods, edge rusher T.J. Parker, linebacker Sammy Brown and cornerback Avieon Terrell. All of these athletes, along with Klubnik, are ranked among the College Football Network's top 100 returning players in college football. Clemson will kick off the season with a major matchup against the LSU Tigers on Aug. 30 at 7:30 p.m. ET.
