Pedestrian airlifted to hospital after van crash Police have said that the woman has been serious injured after the crash in the middle of Mold Police at the scene in Mold town centre (Image: Submitted ) A pedestrian has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a crash in a Welsh town centre. Emergency services were called to the High Street in Mold on Friday morning. North Wales Police said they received a 999-call reporting a collision on the High Street outside the Wetherspoons public house involving a white Volkswagen Crafter van just after 11.45am. A statement from the force said: "The woman was airlifted to hospital in Stoke. The driver of the van has been arrested and remains in police custody." ‌ It added: "The road remains closed. Anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or who may have been travelling along that road at the same time and who may have dash cam footage is urged to contact us via the website or by calling 101 quoting reference number C062389. " ‌ Several town centre roads have been cordoned off as emergency services deal with the incident. Police, paramedics and an air ambulance crew were all sent to the scene. Local restaurant Deadwood Smokehouse announced it has had to close for the evening due to the collision. In a post on Facebook, they said: "Due to the accident in Mold town centre today, we have had to make the decision to close the restaurant this evening. Article continues below "With the roads being closed our supplier was unable to make their delivery and we are unsure as to what time they will re-open. Enjoy the sun this evening and we'll be back open tomorrow!"
