Jay Glazer gives Broncos' weight room a glowing review
NFL insider Jay Glazer is no stranger to strength and conditioning, having served as a trainer in mixed martial arts for professional football players and athletes over the years. So it should also be no surprise that he enjoys weight rooms and strength programs. Glazer recently visited the Denver Broncos' facilities and marveled at the club's weight room. Glazer loved it so much that he not only broadcast it to his X (formerly Twitter) account but also rated it the best weight room in the entire NFL. The weight room has become an essential part of the success of NFL athletes, pro athletes, and athletes worldwide. For the Broncos, it's clear that investing in their weight room is a big part of their success, and under Sean Payton, they will need it now more than ever as they look to build off their 10-7 season and make a deeper playoff run. No clowns or prima donnas: Bo Nix praises mentality of Broncos' locker room
Bo Nix likes the state of the Denver Broncos' locker room going into his second season in the NFL. The Broncos have the highest rate (86%) of returning players in the league, giving them plenty of continuity as they approach the 2025 campaign. Denver also has a close-knit squad off the field, and Nix believes that will pay dividends on the field. "I'm playing with a similar team as we did last year," Nix said last week. "Not a lot of turnover. Then we added some special guys that were good locker room guys, good teammates, have that history of working hard, being experienced. They're going to make a big difference for us. We're all just trying to compete to get better. We're all trying to make each other better. I think that's just kind of showing in the locker room, out on the field, in the cafeteria. We just have a close team." Broncos general manager George Paton and coach Sean Payton have been deliberate in finding high-character players to add to the locker room, and Nix praised the group's mentality. "I think it starts with, honestly, the type of people we have in the locker room," Nix said. "We don't have any clowns. We don't have any guys that are hard to get along with. We just have good people, good dudes that are all here for one reason, and that's one team goal and just to get better. We don't really have a lot of prima donnas, which is good.' No clowns. No prima donnas. Just hard-working players seeking a Super Bowl. That's exactly the kind of roster that can help Denver return to chasing championships. Broncos take another hit with another linebacker injury
The hits keep coming for the Denver Broncos' heavy hitters. Two days after backup linebacker Drew Sanders suffered a foot injury that is expected to sideline him for north of four to six weeks, starting linebacker Alex Singleton broke his thumb during Monday's training camp practice. Mike Klis of 9News was the first to report the news of Singleton's broken thumb. The good news is that Singleton should only be sidelined for a week or so, then he will be able to wrap a club on his hand and continue playing. Singleton, 31, tore his ACL against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Week 3 last season and returned in time for the start of training camp this summer. Fortunately, the thumb injury shouldn't prevent him from suiting up in Week 1. The veteran linebacker has been a tackling machine in Denver, recording 371 tackles in 37 games from 2022-2024. After signing Dre Greenlaw during free agency this spring, the Broncos are expected to start Singleton and Greenlaw in 2025. While Singleton is sidelined, Justin Strnad will presumably be the next man up to get reps next to Greenlaw at practice. In addition to Greenlaw and Strnad, Denver's remaining healthy inside linebackers are second-year player Levelle Bailey and three undrafted free agent additions: Karene Reid, JB Brown and Jordan Turner. Broncos linebacker Drew Sanders carted off practice field with right leg injury
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. (AP) — Third-year linebacker Drew Sanders was carted off the Denver Broncos' football fields Saturday after injuring his right leg during drills. Sanders began hopping around right after the play and then went to the ground in pain. Team medical personnel looked at his right foot and ankle before putting him on a cart and taking him inside team headquarters for an MRI. The injury happened with about 15 minutes left in practice and coach Sean Payton said afterward that he had no update other than to say it wasn't another Achilles tendon injury like the one Sanders sustained in the 2024 offseason. Sanders played in all 17 games as a rookie but missed much of last season after tearing his Achilles tendon in May 2024. He returned in November and played in four games, making eight tackles. Sanders has bounced back and forth between inside and outside linebacker ever since the Broncos selected him in the third round out of Arkansas in the 2023 draft. He's a key backup with Alex Singleton returning from an ACL tear in Week 3 last year and free agent addition Dre Greenlaw returning from a strained thigh this spring and a torn Achilles tendon he suffered in the Super Bowl after the 2023 season, which limited him to two games with the San Francisco 49ers last season. ___
