Garhwa: Deputy commissioner Dinesh Kumar Yadav on Wednesday suspended the secretary of Danda panchayat for allegedly adding ineligible beneficiaries under the state govt's Abua Aawas Yojana. A probe was initiated into the selection of beneficiaries by Yadav after several complaints were received in this regard. "Abua Awas Yojana is one of the most important schemes of the state govt. The selection of ineligible beneficiaries has affected transparency of the scheme and exploited the rights of eligible beneficiaries. The benefit of any govt scheme must reach to the needy. Any irregularity will not be tolerated," DC said in a statement.

Garhwa: Thirteen govt employees, who were responsible for implementing the MGNREGS projects across various blocks of the district, now face action for financial irregularities. Deputy commissioner Dinesh Kumar Yadav on Wednesday discharged Rozgar sevaks Anil Kumar Yadav and Umesh Kumar, junior engineers Nitesh Kumar Singh, Rakesh Ranjan Ravi, Mukesh Dubey and computer operator Bablu Prasad from their duties. Six junior engineers others were transferred to other blocks while one panchayat secretary was suspended. The district administration said all the 13 were found involved in financial irregularities over the construction of dobhas (small pond) and wells in Dhurki and Ramkanda blocks. "Action was taken based on an enquiry report conducted by NREGA Lok Pal and complaints of the residents of these blocks," Yadav said. DC reviews medical facilities in Garhwa district

Garhwa: Garhwa DC Dinesh Kumar Yadav warned of stern action against lax officials and staff of the health department. The statement came during a district-level review meeting of the health department on Saturday. During the meeting, the DC was informed about various health facilities and the availability of doctors in various health centres of the district. The DC instructed the Garhwa Sadar Hospital and various CHCs and PHCs to run medical works smoothly. The DC also reviewed the status of health sub-centre buildings being constructed under the 15th Financial Commission. The medical officers informed the DC about the problems of a lack of doctors, health workers, security guards, X-ray technicians, and defunct ambulances. The DC instructed civil surgeon Dr Ashok Kumar to solve the problem. He also instructed the civil surgeon to take action against clinics operating without a licence. The DC also instructed him to conduct regular inspections of ultrasound centres, Atal clinics, urban health centres, and hospitals. tnn

1 2 3 Garhwa: In a bid to boost the students' morale, Garhwa DC Dinesh Kumar Yadav said the govt has announced that all rank holder students of JAC examination in the district would be awarded Rs 1 lakh from the next session. Yadav made the statement during the 'Samman Samaroh' organised here on Saturday during which students performing well in the secondary and higher secondary examinations 2025 of JAC and CBSE were felicitated. Similarly, students performing well in intermediate examinations of commerce, arts and science were felicitated and honoured with prizes. Apart from DC Yadav, SP Aman Kumar, Garhwa SDM Sanjay Kumar and DEO Qaiser Raza were present on the occasion and they handed over the prizes to all top performing students of Garhwa district. While the district toppers were given tablets, mementoes and certificates, second-rank holders were honoured with mobile phones and mementoes and third-rankers were given school bags and mementoes. Seven teachers from different schools were also honoured with shawls for their excellent performance. Among the toppers are students of two CM Schools of Excellence.
