DC reviews medical facilities in Garhwa district
During the meeting, the DC was informed about various health facilities and the availability of doctors in various health centres of the district. The DC instructed the Garhwa Sadar Hospital and various CHCs and PHCs to run medical works smoothly. The DC also reviewed the status of health sub-centre buildings being constructed under the 15th Financial Commission. The medical officers informed the DC about the problems of a lack of doctors, health workers, security guards, X-ray technicians, and defunct ambulances. The DC instructed civil surgeon Dr Ashok Kumar to solve the problem. He also instructed the civil surgeon to take action against clinics operating without a licence. The DC also instructed him to conduct regular inspections of ultrasound centres, Atal clinics, urban health centres, and hospitals. tnn

Hemant cabinet nod to rename Atal clinics after Mother Teresa
Ranchi: The Hemant Soren-led cabinet on Thursday decided to rechristen all PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee Mohalla Clinics in the state as Mother Teresa Advanced Health Clinics, drawing sharp reactions from oppoisition from BJP . According to the state health department, currently, 140 PM Atal Mohalla Clinics are operational across the state. The clinics were first rolled out in 2019 during the BJP's tenure when Raghubar Das was the chief minister. Though the health department officials refused to comment on the renaming, they said the overhauled clinics would be upgraded with the efficacies enhanced along with advanced facilities at the mohalla level as part of the department's health services' overhaul plan across the state. Criticising the move, BJP accused the govt of playing "dirty politics", taking the name of legendary personalities to digress from the real issues plaguing the people of the state. Eluru: Eluru Range IG GVG Ashok Kumar, Eagle Team IG Ravi Krishna, and Eluru district SP K Pratap Shiva Kishore organised an awareness seminar at the Asram Medical College in coordination with the medical students about the ill-effects of drug use on Wednesday. Earlier in the programme, Asram Hospital Principal Dr Srinivas Chebrolu, Asram Hospital CEO Hanumantha Rao, Excise Deputy Commissioner Srilatha and Assistant Excise Commissioner Prabhu Kumar spoke about the ill effects of drug use. Eluru Additional SP Admin N Suryachandra Rao said that organising the programme 'No Drugs, Bro' at the Asram Hospital and creating awareness among students is very useful. Eagle SP Nagesh Babu said that in the use of drugs, most of the students pursuing higher education are getting addicted to drugs, and those who feel a lot of stress are getting addicted to drugs to escape from that stress, which is darkening their golden future. Students should provide information to 1972 about anyone around them who has sold or consumed marijuana, and everyone should help in building a drug-free Andhra Pradesh. Speaking at the event, SP Pratap Shiva Kishore said that doctors use medicine to save lives, but there are two types of drugs, one that saves lives and the other that takes lives.
