Divya Prem: Pyaar Aur Rahasya Ki Kahani actress Kavita Banerjee is 'not scared' of being typecast; says ‘Playing a villain is way more challenging'
In the evolving world of Indian television, where actors often get slotted into certain image-driven roles, actress Kavita Banerjee stands out with her fearless approach. Currently seen playing the bold and enigmatic Karn Mohini in Divya Prem: Pyaar Aur Rahasya Ki Kahani, Kavita is embracing her villainous avatar with confidence and grace. Speaking about the risk of being stereotyped, Kavita shared, 'Honestly, if you've followed Indian TV, you'd know how quickly actors get labeled. Even if you do just two shows as a villain, people start tagging you as a 'villain actor.'' She adds that such tags rarely apply to actors who shift from positive to negative roles, but starting off with grey characters tends to stamp an actor's image for long. Despite this, Kavita is unfazed. 'No, I'm not scared of being typecast,' she says. 'In fact, playing a villain is way more challenging than doing a simple positive role. My character Karn Mohini isn't your usual antagonist—she's grand, powerful, and intense. And in real life, I'm a cheerful, happy-go-lucky person, or at least I like to believe that!' She believes acting is about diving into roles that are far removed from one's own personality. 'For me, acting is all about doing things I'm not in real life. It's my chance to truly act and challenge myself.' While she has mostly been offered negative roles, Kavita is open to playing positive characters too. 'If someone can imagine me in a positive role, I'm totally ready for it. I want to explore all kinds of characters—that's the real joy of being an actor. ' Divya Prem: Pyaar Aur Rahasya Ki Kahani follows the story of Divya, a girl from Ujjain whose life takes a mystical turn after meeting Prem. Blending mystery, romance, and supernatural elements, the show pits good against evil, with Kavita's powerful villain at its core.

Megha Ray on doing action scenes in a bridal look for Divya Prem: Pyaar Aur Rahasya Ki Kahani; says 'I fell at least 50 times'
Actress Megha Ray, who plays the lead role of Divya in Divya Prem: Pyaar Aur Rahasya Ki Kahani, is redefining bridal glam on Indian television — by mixing it with high-energy action! In a recent conversation, Megha opened up about the physically demanding scenes she shot while dressed in full bridal attire, and how the experience pushed her out of her comfort zone. 'It honestly wasn't easy,' Megha admitted. 'The lehenga was heavy, the jewellery was tight and I had to do proper action scenes in that outfit. Every time I tried to kick, jump or fall, something got stuck — either the dupatta, the bangles, or the lehenga itself. I must've fallen 50 times. I had bruises all over, on my legs, hands and neck. It was exhausting, but I actually enjoyed it. I like doing physical scenes and I loved the challenge. ' While bridal looks are common on TV, Megha shared what made this one stand out for her. 'I've worn bridal looks before, but this one stood out. I was wearing so many layers of jewellery — two chokers, loads of bangles. I don't think I've ever been this decked up,' she laughed. 'But the Rudraksha mala made it feel special. In the show, Prem always wears it. When he gives it to me for protection, it adds real meaning to the look. It's not just jewellery, it's part of the story.' Despite having played a bride on screen before, the feeling still holds magic for Megha. 'As an Indian girl, there's something magical about dressing up as a bride. Even if you've done it before, each time feels new. The outfit, the setting, the emotions — it all comes together differently depending on the scene,' she said. 'And when the story is intense like this one, it feels more real. I'm really looking forward to seeing how it turns out on screen. ' Divya Prem: Pyaar Aur Rahasya Ki Kahani is a mystical love story starring Megha Ray, Suraj Pratap Singh, and Kavita Banerjee.

Megha Ray on upcoming sequence with Suraj Pratap Singh in Divya Prem: For the first time, I'm dancing with a co-actor who matches my energy
Megha Ray, who plays the titular role of Divya, opened up about her on-screen chemistry and dancing experience with co-star Suraj Pratap Singh in Divya Prem: Pyaar Aur Rahasya Ki Kahani. 'Honestly, I've never had this much fun shooting a dance sequence,' Megha shared. 'For the first time, I'm dancing with a co-actor who matches my energy step for step. Suraj is such a fantastic dancer. We share the same rhythm, the same unspoken understanding. If he moves a certain way, I instinctively know what to do next.' Megha also spoke about how this rhythm allowed them to experiment and elevate the choreography. 'That comfort lets us play with the steps, add lifts, improvise, and create something that feels effortless and in sync,' she said. While the duo was guided by professional choreographers, Megha emphasized the importance of adding their own flair. 'We have amazing choreographers, but as actors, it's our job to bring the soul. We know our characters best. Whether it's a spontaneous twirl, an expressive gaze, or an unscripted moment with Suraj, it adds depth and chemistry,' she explained. Describing dance as a form of 'storytelling without words,' Megha said this performance beautifully captures the emotional tension between Divya and Prem. Divya Prem follows the mystical love story of Divya, a spirited girl from Ujjain, whose life takes a mysterious turn when she meets Prem. As their love deepens, secrets from the past threaten to resurface — setting the stage for a narrative filled with romance, suspense, and soulful performances.

Shruti Anand on shooting intense action scenes in Divya Prem: Pyaar aur Rahasya ki Kahaani: I would come home with bruises and body pain
A scene may look magical on screen, but it's the hard work behind the scenes that brings it to life. What appears effortless and beautiful to the audience is often the result of an actor's intense dedication and effort. Shruti Anand, who plays Netra (Divya's mother) in the show Divya Prem: Pyaar aur Rahasya ki Kahaani, gave her all in the very first episode. She recently shared how challenging it was to shoot some of her key scenes and the effort that went into making them look convincing. Shruti shared, 'When I first saw the script, I thought it looked easy. There weren't many dialogues, just some action sequences, so I felt it would go smoothly. But I was wrong. Wearing a harness for long hours, doing intense fight scenes, and using full energy was really exhausting. Of course, we don't actually have superpowers, but we have to act like we do. For example, there was a scene in the first episode where I had to stop a moving train. Even though it was just acting, I had to put in all my strength to make it look real.' She further added, 'There were times when I felt dizzy because I was using so much energy. I had to take breaks to recover. I would come home with bruises and body pain from all the falls and stunts. It was definitely tough, but I learned a lot. If I ever get to do a fantasy show again in the future, at least I'll have some experience and be much stronger!' Recently launched, Divya Prem: Pyaar Aur Rahasya Ki Kahani is already winning hearts with its unique blend of romance and mystery. The show follows the magical journey of Divya, a young woman from Ujjain, whose life takes an unexpected turn after she meets Prem. As their love story blossoms, hidden secrets from their past begin to unravel, adding layers of intrigue. Keep reading this space for more updates.
