Megha Ray on doing action scenes in a bridal look for Divya Prem: Pyaar Aur Rahasya Ki Kahani; says 'I fell at least 50 times'
'It honestly wasn't easy,' Megha admitted. 'The lehenga was heavy, the jewellery was tight and I had to do proper action scenes in that outfit. Every time I tried to kick, jump or fall, something got stuck — either the dupatta, the bangles, or the lehenga itself. I must've fallen 50 times. I had bruises all over, on my legs, hands and neck. It was exhausting, but I actually enjoyed it. I like doing physical scenes and I loved the challenge.
'
While bridal looks are common on TV, Megha shared what made this one stand out for her. 'I've worn bridal looks before, but this one stood out. I was wearing so many layers of jewellery — two chokers, loads of bangles. I don't think I've ever been this decked up,' she laughed. 'But the Rudraksha mala made it feel special. In the show, Prem always wears it. When he gives it to me for protection, it adds real meaning to the look.
It's not just jewellery, it's part of the story.'
Despite having played a bride on screen before, the feeling still holds magic for Megha. 'As an Indian girl, there's something magical about dressing up as a bride. Even if you've done it before, each time feels new. The outfit, the setting, the emotions — it all comes together differently depending on the scene,' she said. 'And when the story is intense like this one, it feels more real. I'm really looking forward to seeing how it turns out on screen.
'
Divya Prem: Pyaar Aur Rahasya Ki Kahani is a mystical love story starring Megha Ray, Suraj Pratap Singh, and Kavita Banerjee.

Last Updated: One of the viral moments from Lalit Modi's London party featured him and Vijay Mallya singing Frank Sinatra's I Did It My Way on karaoke. Former Indian Premier League (IPL) commissioner Lalit Modi recently hosted a grand party in London, attended by over 300 guests. The star-studded gathering saw familiar faces, including his longtime associate Vijay Mallya, West Indies cricketer Chris Gayle, and Indian singer Carlton Braganza. A standout moment from the evening that quickly went viral online featured Modi and Mallya performing a karaoke rendition of Frank Sinatra's classic I Did It My Way. The clip has sparked buzz on social media, as it marks a rare public reunion of the two controversial businessmen. Another highlight of the evening was Gayle signing a cricket bat for Lalit. The bat held significance for Modi as it was the one Gayle used to score his record-breaking 175 runs in an IPL match for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in 2013. Modi took to social media to thank Gayle, writing, 'With the man himself the one and only #universeboss Chris Gayle at my home in london for my summer party. Presented me with his bat with which he scored the highest ever total by an individual person in an T20 IPL match in 2013 for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru of 175 runs in just 66 balls. In the caption, he wrote, 'We living it up. Thanks for a lovely evening." A Deja Vu Moment This isn't the first time the trio has been seen together. Just last year, all three were spotted at the grand wedding of Mallya's son, Siddharth Mallya, with Jasmine. The week-long celebration was held at Mallya's $14 million estate in Hertfordshire, UK. The wedding included both Hindu and Christian ceremonies and was attended by several well-known guests including singer Sophie Choudry and fashion designer Manoviraj Khosla. One photo from the wedding showing Mallya and Modi together sparked memes and reactions online at the time. The venue itself also drew attention as the property was once owned by Anthony Hamilton, father of Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton. Mallya bought the estate in 2015, just before he left India. Legal Troubles Both Modi and Mallya have been facing serious allegations. Modi, who once served as vice president of the Board of Control for Cricket (BCCI), left India in 2010 amid investigations related to financial misconduct, including alleged bid-rigging, unauthorised fund transfers, money laundering and violations of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA). Mallya, on the other hand, is accused in a bank loan default case of over Rs 9,000 crore linked to his now-defunct Kingfisher Airlines. Shefali Jariwala's 'Kaanta Laga' lands in controversy as singer Sona Mohapatra calls it 'a smutty video'
Singer Sona Mohapatra has found herself at the center of a social media storm after posting a critical message on Instagram in the wake of Shefali Jariwala 's death. In her post, Mohapatra expressed displeasure at director duo Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru's statement "retiring" the 2002 remix of Kaanta Laga , which featured Jariwala. She questioned their authority to make such a declaration and criticised the nature of the music video that made Shefali famous. Sona Questions Remix Ownership According to Sona, the true creators of Kaanta Laga were legendary composer R.D. Burman, lyricist Majrooh Sultanpuri, and singer Lata Mangeshkar, who brought the original track to life in the 1972 film Samadhi. She accused Rao and Sapru of using Shefali's death for publicity and dismissed the remix as a "smutty" reinterpretation made without the consent of the original creators. Referring to the 2002 remix video as "a smutty video with a 19-year-old," she acknowledged Jariwala's passing but framed it as a footnote rather than a tribute, writing, 'RIP and all for the 42-year-old lady, but legacy?' Sona Mohapatra's Instagram Story Internet Reacts Strongly to Tone and Timing The internet, especially Reddit users, reacted strongly to Mohapatra's post, with many accusing her of being insensitive and disrespectful. One user commented that the post lacked compassion and questioned why Sona refused to even mention Shefali's name. Others highlighted the inappropriateness of criticising someone who had just passed and could no longer respond to such remarks. Some fans pointed out the irony that Mohapatra had herself been part of similarly stylized remixes, such as Kabhi Aar Kabhi Paar, which featured a provocative video starring Deepal Shaw. This led to accusations of hypocrisy from commenters, who noted the similarity in both the style and tone of the videos. Following Jariwala's sudden demise due to cardiac arrest, directors Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru paid tribute to her by announcing that they would never make a sequel to Kaanta Laga. They credited Shefali for owning the identity of the 'Kaanta Laga girl' and stated that the song belonged to her legacy. Their message aimed to honor her contribution to pop culture and expressed that she would remain the face of that iconic moment. Shefali's Rise and Untimely Demise Shefali Jariwala rose to fame with the Kaanta Laga remix, which became a cultural phenomenon in the early 2000s. Despite appearing in only a handful of projects afterward—largely due to her struggle with epilepsy—she remained a recognizable face in Indian pop culture, with appearances on television shows like Bigg Boss and Nach Baliye. She died at the age of 42, reportedly due to cardiac arrest at her Mumbai home. While Mohapatra's intent may have been to spotlight the contributions of original artists, the lack of empathy in her tone and the timing of her remarks have overshadowed that message. The conversation has now shifted from the song's legacy to the ethics of commentary following a public figure's death.
