Tyler, The Creator 'Stop Playing With Me' Video Features Cameos From LeBron James And Clipse
Tyler, The Creator hit the ground running with his new album Don't Tap The Glass. The 34-year-old rapper shared a music video for the track 'Stop Playing With Me' with cameo appearances from LeBron James, Maverick Carter, and Clipse. The visual opens with the Hawthorne, Calif. rapper sporting an all-red outfit and flanked by two speakers while dancing in a room with papers scattered all over the floor. 'When I get to snappin' like doo-wop/ Really got the juice like 2Pac/ Shawty got a strong jaw, might chew rock/ Got me comin' out the blue like new cop,' he raps. Later, he raps about catching a plane with Carter and James as the two appear beside him. After a quick transition, they vanish, and in comes Pusha T and Malice while Tyler raps, 'Thank the gods I'm nothing like you.' The Virginia duo stood calmly, almost as if they were uninterested in the former Odd Future member dancing crazily, each time they were seen in the video. Bron and Mav, however, got some light dance moves off and did their unique handshake in their subsequent appearances. Watch the full video above. 'Stop Playing With Me' is the midway point of Tyler's newest album, Don't Tap The Glass. The 10-track LP has no listed features, though 'Big Poe' features vocals from Pharrell and a sample of Busta Rhymes' chorus on 'Pass The Courvoisier.' Daisy World also appears on 'Don't You Worry Baby.' Glass marks the Grammy winner's ninth studio album, and second in under a year following Chromakopia from October 2024. It is also his second consecutive album to come out on a Monday morning. In promoting the LP, Tyler tweeted 'yall better get them expectations and hopes down this aint no concept nothing' on Sunday (July 20). He also wrote that it was 'made for body movement.' LeBron and business partner made surprise cameo in new Tyler, The Creator video
Tyler, The Creator released a new music video on Monday morning and it featured a cameo appearance from Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James. A little less than one minute into the new song, which has a music video directed by the rapper, Tyler raps: "Caught the plane with mag one and two." During those lyrics, LeBron and his longtime business partner Maverick Carter briefly appear on the screen. Tyler, who is now sporting a distinguished mustache, points at each of them individually as he recites the words of the song. They weren't exactly doing much aside from standing around, which was extremely tough. However, for some fans, it may have given them a brief jump scare. Tyler, the Creator surprised his fans and the music industry with the unannounced release of his ninth studio album Don't Tap the Glass, marking his most impulsive album rollout to date. Tyler, The Creator unleashed his Don't Tap the Glass album on Monday morning (July 21). 'Don't Tap The Glass' album was announced during his concert at Brooklyn's Barclays Centre, which took place as part of his ongoing 'Chromakopia' tour. Here's the note in full: Live Events I asked some friends why they don't dance in public and some said because of the fear of being filmed. I thought damn, a natural form of expression and a certain connection they have with music is now a ghost. It made me wonder how much of our human spirit got killed because of the fear of being a meme, all for having a good time. I just got back from a 'listening party' for this album and man was it one of the greatest nights of my life. 300 people. No phones allowed. No cameras. Just speakers and a sweatbox. Everyone was dancing, moving, expressing, sweating. It was truly beautiful. I played the album front to back twice, it felt like that pent up energy finally got released and we craved the idea of letting more of it out. There was a freedom that filled the room. A ball of energy that might not translate to every speaker that plays this album but man did that room nail it. This album was not made for sitting still. Dancing driving running any type of movement is recommended to maybe understand the spirit of it. Only at full volume. Tyler , the Creator's rollouts for his albums have generally been pretty short, but Don't Tap the Glass arrives with the least notice yet. Tyler remains on tour in support of Chromakopia. He still has shows left to play in the United States, Canada, New Zealand, Australia, Japan, South Korea, Thailand, and the Philippines.
