Wahlburgers Closing More Than Half of Its Locations
The popular burger chain, founded by Mark Wahlberg and his brothers Donnie and Paul, will no longer be found in Midwest grocery giant Hy-Vee stores. Wahlburgers, the burger chain founded by chef Paul Wahlberg and his celebrity brothers Mark and Donnie, announced the closure of 79 locations. USA Today reports that the shuttered restaurants were all located within Midwestern grocery giant Hy-Vee stores. The partnership between Wahlburgers and Hy-Vee played a large part in the brand's expansion, but ultimately led to overextension, say industry experts. Hy-Vee announced plans to revert these in-store eateries to its own Market Grille brand. Related: How Wahlburgers Finds Success Through Feedback This move leaves the burger chain with just over 40 remaining locations nationwide. Restaurant Business Online spoke with Wahlburgers CEO Randy Sharpe, who explained that these locations accounted for a "small portion of sales" and that the chain wants to focus more on its actual restaurants rather than what amounted to kiosks. "We are growing restaurants," Sharpe said. "We're not going to be in the grocery business." Sharpe told the outlet that the chain plans to open 15 new locations this year. Related: Mark Wahlberg Says He's Shifted His Viral Morning Routine to Work Around His Three Teenagers: 'I'm Up and Down the Stairs at Least Three Times' Wahlbergs opened its first location outside of Boston in 2011. It began rapidly expanding thanks to franchising, and per RDO, went from 30 locations in 2019 to 109 in 2023. The rise of the restaurant chain was captured on the reality TV show, Wahlburgers, that ran from 2014 to 2019. In 2020, Mark Wahlberg discussed the rise of Wahlburgers and how it fit into his vision of success during an interview with Entrepreneur magazine, which you can read here. ‘Blue Bloods' star Bridget Moynahan to appear on premiere of spinoff ‘Boston Blue'
Bridget Moynahan is set to reprise her role as Erin Reagan in the premiere episode of 'Boston Blue', the much-anticipated spinoff of the long-running CBS police drama 'Blue Bloods'. The network confirmed Friday that Moynahan will also direct an episode later in the first season, continuing her behind-the-camera work from the original series. The news was also shared by the lead actor Donnie Wahlberg via his Instagram, who wrote, 'So excited to have my dear friend, and TV sister @bridgetmoynahan, join me for a special guest appearance in the premiere episode of #BostonBlue! (sic).' Her guest appearance will reunite her with Donnie Wahlberg, who returns in the lead role as Detective Danny Reagan. The spinoff series shifts the franchise's setting from New York City to Boston and focuses on Danny's transition to the Boston Police Department, alongside a new cast of characters. 'Boston Blue' will also introduce Sean Reagan, Danny's son, as a new patrol officer in Boston. However, in a surprising move, the role of Sean — played by Andrew Terraciano across nearly the entirety of Blue Bloods' 14-season run — has been recast. Mika Amonsen, known for roles in 'Suits' and 'Reacher', will take over the character. No reason has been given for the casting change, and both CBS and Terraciano have remained silent on the matter. The actor's only public comment was a farewell message shared after filming wrapped in 2024. Joining Wahlberg and Amonsen in 'Boston Blue' are Sonequa Martin-Green as Lena Silver, Maggie Lawson as Sarah Silver, Marcus Scribner as Jonah Silver, Gloria Reuben as Mae Silver, and Ernie Hudson as Reverend Peters. The Silver family appears set to play a central role in the new drama. Bridget Moynahan's dual contribution — both in front of and behind the camera — underscores CBS's effort to keep a strong link to the original 'Blue Bloods' legacy while introducing fresh stories and perspectives in a new city.

CBS via Getty Images 'Dearest Blockheads,' the actor began on Instagram. 'There is, of course, a sadness in saying goodbye to #BlueBloods. But what a heck of a ride we had together! You all were literally part of the Blue Bloods family! Not just on Friday nights (trending #BlueBloods every single week that it's been on the air), not just in your impact on the Ratings (which was massive), you all made yourselves an actual part of the crew.' Wahlberg added that everyone on the set 'knew you, appreciated you and was happy to see you.' 'None — more than me. Of all the memories, highlights and moments, that I'll look back on fondly from the last 14 years of filming #BlueBloods in New York City, your set visits will be something that I'll cherish forever,' he shared. 11 Donnie Wahlberg as NYPD Officer Danny Reagan. CBS Entertainment The New Kids On The Block member went on to recall his cherished memories of viewers. 'You brought smiles, gifts, cupcakes (even though I was staying in shape for NKOTB tours), candy (too many Coffee Crisps and Kinder to mention), hugs, signs, inspiration and of course love. Some visitors — did not miss a season,' Wahlberg detailed. 'Some visitors — we now miss so dearly.' 'I keep closing my eyes, and seeing your faces, as I'm writing this. I'm so thankful to you all. Please know that my heart is full. I can go on forever, about you, but it's time to stop writing and to simply let these memories live. I thank you. I love you. I appreciate you. I salute you,' he continued before writing a sweet sign-off. 11 Frank Reagan (Tom Selleck) meets with Danny Reagan, (Donnie Wahlberg) in the 'Blue Bloods' scene. CBS 'My Blockhead/BlueBloods Family. See you on the next adventure. Coming soon.' Selleck, 80, however, didn't hold back from sharing his disdain over the end of the beloved series. 'I'm kind of frustrated,' the Emmy winner told TV Insider in October. 'During those last eight shows, I haven't wanted to talk about an ending for Blue Bloods but about it still being wildly successful.' Selleck pointed out that the show still had strong ratings, as well. 11 Bridget Moynahan and Donnie Wahlberg. JOJO WHILDEN 'I'm not going to turn into a bitter old guy saying, 'Get off my lawn!' I don't believe in holding grudges, but if you were to say to the television network, 'Here's a show you can program in the worst time slot you got, and it is going to guarantee you winning Friday night for the next 15 years,' it would be almost impossible to believe.' Selleck continued, 'My frustration is the show was always taken for granted because it performed from the get-go. So how do I feel? It's going to take a long time to sort all of this out.' Despite his disappointment, the 'Magnum P.I.' star isn't done yet. 11 A scene from the CBS series 'Blue Bloods.' CBS via Getty Images He told Town & Country in May, 'I hope there's another Western in my future. Certainly whatever happens with 'Blue Bloods,' I'm not going to stop acting.' Meanwhile, that same month, Wahlberg admitted he did everything he could to save 'Blue Bloods' before accepting the show's fate. 'When it ended, we thought, 'Okay, some of the network's gonna come and say, let's keep going.' And nobody came, and it was kind of like we were all in denial about it,' he told Fox News Digital. Wahlberg said that the opportunity for him to produce 'Boston Blue' then came along. 11 A March episode of 'Blue Bloods.' JOJO WHILDEN 'It was heavy, you know?' the singer confessed. 'It's, like, how do I do this? Like, how does [his character] Danny Reagan carry on? You know, how do we create this new world for this character, and how do we do it in another city, not in New York?' Wahlberg mentioned that everyone involved in 'Blue Bloods' — both in front of and behind the camera — was so important to him. 'They became part of our family,' he said. 'You know, the viewers are saying, like, 'How do we keep going with a Blue Blood spinoff without the whole family?' And I share that. How do we do that, right?' Wahlberg made the decision to move forward with the new project. 11 Donnie Wahlberg as Officer Danny Reagan. CBS 'It was definitely a challenge to take on this opportunity, but I kept saying to myself, you know, if I'm really sincere about wanting 'Blue Bloods' to carry on, here's an opportunity to do it,' he detailed. 'Now, it's just Danny going to this new world, but I can't say a lot about it — but I could say, if he's a Reagan, it will never be just Danny. There'll always be a Reagan a phone call away. And the traditions that the Reagans have, Danny wouldn't abandon those traditions.'

New Kids on the Block Share Behind-the-Scenes Look at the Making of Their Las Vegas Residency (Exclusive)
NEED TO KNOW New Kids on the Block unveil behind-the-scenes footage from their Las Vegas residency, 'The Right Stuff,' featuring aerial stunts, reimagined hits and new stage effects The boyband reveals how they tailored their immersive concert specifically for Las Vegas, blending nostalgia with spectacle NKOTB completed the first leg of their residency in early July and have upcoming dates in November 2025 and February 2026The New Kids on the Block kicked off the first leg of their Las Vegas residency in June — and are now taking fans backstage to see how their high-flying production came together. In a video short shared exclusively with PEOPLE, bandmates Donnie Wahlberg, Joey McIntyre, Danny Wood and brothers Jonathan and Jordan Knight reveal how they balanced building a new show that elevated their performance while staying true to their style. "I think probably the biggest creative decision is walking the tight rope of bringing New Kids to Vegas and bringing Vegas to the New Kids, and not going too far in either direction," said Donnie of staging "The Right Stuff" residency, named after their 1988 hit song. "It takes us outside of our comfort zone a little but having fun and being creative is also part of our comfort zone. It's just, you know, putting it together." The show, which returns to the Dolby Live at Park MGM on Nov. 1, includes a 30-song setlist of hits, deep cuts and reimagined fan favorites. While nostalgia plays a large part — they open the concert emerging from a life-size Boston subway train and roll into the encore in a replica of the convertible featured in their 1988 video for "You Got It (The Right Stuff)" — the band leans into modern showmanship with immersive stage productions, aerial elements and sexy Rat Pack-inspired sets. "We've been doing them songs a long time," said Danny. "They're always my favorites but now they're even more my favorites because they've been, like, reproduced and remixed." The behind-the-scenes video includes clips of the members during early dance rehearsals ("[There's] a lot of new choreography," said Danny), wardrobe fittings, creative storyboarding and practices on the moving stage sidewalk and flying trapeze sets. In one of the most elaborate stunts of the night, the singers are lifted high up into the air in individually illuminated boxes to sing face-to-face with guests in the upper balcony levels. "I am definitely afraid of heights," Jonathan said. "If I was coming to the show and was way up there and then all of a sudden there's a bunch of New Kids in my face, I would be so happy. So I will take my fear and know that it's bringing happiness." Said Jordan: "We wanted to give them surprises that, you know, they haven't seen before but also keep it tight enough for the regular just Las Vegas person that's just in town to go to see a show." The band emphasizes that intimate connection is important amidst the spectacle — whether it's with their fanbase of devoted Blockheads or simply curious Las Vegas visitors. "The entire show is going to be unique, I think, to our fans because we are crafting it specifically for Vegas and having things that, in many ways, we can only do in Vegas and are inspired by Vegas," said Donnie. "And on the other hand it's going to be a first look for some people who aren't fans who maybe are in Vegas and say, 'Let's see a show.'" NKOTB completed the first leg of their residency in early July, and have second and third blocks scheduled in November 2025 and February 2026, with eight shows scheduled for each session. "At the end of the day, it's just the five of us on the stage. We love each other, we care about each other, we love what we do, we keep showing up," said Joey. "We want to put on a spectacle." Tickets are available at or with special ticket and hotel packages through MGM Resorts. Read the original article on People
