Dor Turgeman to Rangers fee 'agreed' as mega money Dessers 'push' can unlock transfer amid Igamane standoff
The transfer merry-go-round is in motion at Ibrox amid the search for a new striker Rangers have reportedly told Maccabi Tel Aviv they are willing to meeting their asking price for Dor Turgeman. However, a deal is said to be on hold until after the Scottish Premiership side can offload either Cyriel Dessers or Hamza Igamane. Record Sport first revealed the Maccabi Tel Aviv man is a target for the Light Blues as Russell Martin looks to strengthen ahead of a new era at Ibrox. Israeli outlet 5 Sport report that Rangers are "willing to pay" the £5million asking price that Maccabi have placed on the frontman. But he may be facing a nervous wait over his future with Record Spor t revealing that Lille have been spooked by the Light Blues' £15million valuation of Moroccan striker Igamane. The French side are ready to switch their sights to fresh targets - but the departure of last season's top scorer Dessers could also clear a path for a move. AEK Athens remain keen on the Nigeria striker having lodged a £4.5million bid earlier this week. Feyenoord are also said to be keen on a deal for Dessers - but reports in Greece now suggest that AEK are launching a final effort to bring in the frontman. Voira report that a fresh "push" is being prepare to bring in the frontman with the club prepared to raise their offer to apply "pressure" to the Ibrox side. Sport Time claim that the contract that would be handed to Dessers is £1.5million per year but AEK still view him as a "significant" summer target. Earlier this month, Turgeman made it clear that he was hoping to leave Maccabi and take the next step in Europe. He said: "Right now I'm here (at Maccabi). Of course everyone wants to fulfil their dream in Europe and we'll see what happens. I'm ready to take on the next challenge." Rangers' pursuit of Dor Turgeman ‘hits major snag' – due to Israel-Iran conflict
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) RANGERS' pursuit of Israeli striker Dor Turgeman has been dealt an additional complication due to the ongoing Israel-Iran conflict, a report has claimed. We told you last week how the Ibrox side remain very much in the hunt for £4m-rated striker. Due to the issues with attracting foreign players to their country, instead Champions League qualifying entrants have hiked up transfer values on their stars as they focus on keeping their top Israeli players at the club. That includes Turgeman and Roy Revivo. Revivo, Sport5 claimed, was close to joining Copenhagen, only for the Danes to end up shelving their interest in the player when the escalating transfer cost was deemed to be too prohibitive. Incidentally, Tel Aviv are one of five teams who could face Celtic in a Champions League playoff clash this season. And their efforts to establish and maintain a native core this summer include attempts to keep other key Israeli stars Idan Nahmias, Gabi Kanikovsky and Stan Lemkin. The Ibrox side, meanwhile, are also preparing contract talks with top asset Nico Raskin. New Ibrox boss Russell Martin wants to build his team around the Belgian midfield dynamo. Raskin is approaching the final two years of his current deal — and a growing number of clubs are looking at him. The Belgium international cost £1.75million when arriving from Standard Liege in January 2023 and his value is soaring. Ally McCoist confesses to 'horrendous' epic fail ahead of final day of Rangers legend's charity bike ride Both sporting director Kevin Thelwell and the club's new US owners are determined to construct a far better transfer model. And they recognise there's a need to protect the club's interests while rewarding Raskin with increased terms. 3 Keep up to date with ALL the latest news and transfers at the Scottish Sun football page

Cyriel Dessers Rangers exit deal ‘hits hitch' as Ibrox club desperate for cash to fund Russell Martin's squad rebuild
Click to share on X/Twitter (Opens in new window) Click to share on Facebook (Opens in new window) RANGERS are fighting to ensure AEK Athens meet their asking price for striker Cyriel Dessers. The 30-year-old is the subject of a potential transfer from Glasgow to the Greek giants. Sign up for the Rangers newsletter Sign up 1 Cyriel Dessers is on the verge of a move to AEK Athens - but talks have stalled Credit: Getty It's understood the Ibrox club's new American owners have been demanding £5million for his services. And while AEK are keen to land the striker, a report in Greece has claimed the Athens outfit are trying to lower the fee they would have to pay. That's led to a snag in talks, with Gers not willing to budge, reports Sportime. AEK Athens don't want to pay more than £3.8m (€4.5m). That would translate to a net loss for Rangers, who spent £4.5m to land the Nigerian international from Serie A side Cremonese. Naturally, Rangers want to try and make a profit on a player who, while far from perfect, was the team's top scorer last season. The hitch could slow Rangers down in their own pursuit of top targets, with the Light Blues linked to Israeli striker Dor Turgeman and veteran Premier League cult hero Jamie Vardy in recent weeks. Russell Martin is desperate for fresh faces for his summer rebuild and with the club's first Champions League qualifier against Panathinaikos just a month away, the new recruitment team led by Kevin Thelwell and Dan Purdy will have to act fast. Dessers' age is a stumbling block and will be a factor when all parties are discussing potential add-ons or sell-on clauses as part of the deal. He has turned into something of a divisive figure at Ibrox despite netting 51 goals in 109 appearances for the club. Tom Stoltman wants Rangers paint job Meanwhile, Gers are hopeful of securing the signatures of winger Kwame Poku from Peterborough and full-back Max Aarons from Bournemouth. Poku, 23, would be joining on a Bosman deal for a cross-border development fee in the region of £250,000 while Aarons is understood to be under consideration as a loan option.
