CM hold talks with UAE foreign trade minister, Emirates Airlines
Bhopal: On the second day of his visit to the UAE, chief minister Mohan Yadav visited the headquarters of the Textile Merchants Group (TEXMAS) and held discussions with leading textile traders in Dubai. He also met UAE minister of state for foreign trade Thani Bin Al Zeyoudi and Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman of Emirates Airlines and the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority among others. A t TEXMAS the high-level interaction on Monday focused on strengthening trade, innovation, and investment opportunities in the textile sector under the India–UAE Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA). During the meeting, attended by TEXMAS chairman Nasir Akhoon, vice chairman Vinod Nagda, and other senior Indian-origin office bearers, both sides agreed to accelerate bilateral trade under CEPA. Dubai [UAE], July 14 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Monday held an 'important' meeting with Chairman of Emirates Airlines and the Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum and Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations for West Asia and the Indian Ocean at Emirates, Essa Sulaiman Ahmad, on the second day of his visit to Dubai. According to a post by the Chief Minister's Office on X, the discussions focused on strengthening aviation cooperation between India and the UAE. During the meeting, deliberations took place on enhancing aviation ties, with a particular focus on promoting direct flight services from Tier-2 cities like Indore and Bhopal, developing a regional cargo hub in Central India, and exploring opportunities in aviation training and Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) infrastructure. 'Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, during his Dubai visit, held an important bilateral meeting with Emirates Airlines and Dubai Civil Aviation Authority Chairman Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum. During this, detailed discussions were held on strengthening aviation cooperation between India and the UAE,' the MP CMO stated in the post. 'During the meeting, deliberations took place on promoting direct flight services from Tier-2 cities like Indore and Bhopal, developing a regional cargo hub in Central India, and exploring opportunities for cooperation in aviation training and MRO (Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul) infrastructure. Discussions also covered encouraging inbound tourism and the possibility of establishing a branch of the Emirates Aviation Academy in Madhya Pradesh,' the post added. Following the meeting, the Senior Vice President of Commercial Operations for West Asia and the Indian Ocean at Emirates, Essa Sulaiman Ahmad, highlighted the potential synergies and investment opportunities. 'This was a terrific opportunity for us to meet with the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh... We know the synergies between Dubai and Madhya Pradesh... Absolutely, it was a very heartfelt meeting... I used to be in India for seven years, so this was quite an eye-opener to see the kind of investment and the vision that the Chief Minister has for the state, and absolutely looking at synergy where we can see where we take this partnership even further,' he stated. Yadav's official visit to Dubai in the UAE and to Spain is scheduled from July 13 to July 19. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA), in collaboration with Joby Aviation, announced the successful completion of the region's first Aerial Taxi test flight. The test was conducted at a dedicated desert site in Dubai. Joby Aviation is a leading developer of electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, reported that the flight reflects the UAE's leadership in adopting transformative technologies. He noted that this milestone aligns with the strategic vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. It also supports the Dubai Economic Agenda D33 and the UAE's sustainable development goals. The aircraft demonstrated its performance in the local environment. Officials revealed that the test is part of daily operations preparing for the commercial launch of Aerial Taxi services. Key dignitaries present at the event included: H.E. Ibrahim Hussain Ahli, Dubai Air Navigation Services The Joby Aerial Taxi is powered entirely by electricity. It features vertical take-off and landing, zero operating emissions, and low noise levels. The aircraft includes six rotors, four battery packs, and seats for four passengers plus a pilot. It can reach a top speed of 320 km/h and travel up to 160 km. The design is tailored for urban use, needing minimal space for take-off and landing at vertiports. Officials also reviewed test facilities developed with Shamal Holding. These include a vertiport, flight monitoring hangar, and advanced electric charging stations. JoeBen Bevirt, Founder and CEO of Joby Aviation, and Ahmed Hashim Bahrozyan, CEO of the RTA Public Transport Agency, presented the project timeline. It was revealed that commercial Aerial Taxi services are set to launch in 2026. Operations will begin near Dubai International Airport. H.E. Mattar Al Tayer stated that the trial reflects Dubai's push for innovative and sustainable public transport. He reported that the Aerial Taxi will offer premium, fast, and safe travel. A trip from Dubai International Airport to Palm Jumeirah is expected to take 12 minutes, compared to 45 minutes by car. The system will integrate with existing transport modes like metro, e-scooters, and bicycles. JoeBen Bevirt added that Dubai is a launchpad for global aerial mobility and a key partner in making clean, quiet aviation part of everyday life. In early 2024, the RTA signed an agreement with the General Civil Aviation Authority, Dubai Civil Aviation Authority, Skyports Infrastructure, and Joby Aviation. This agreement positions Dubai as the first city globally to deploy Aerial Taxis through a complete VTOL infrastructure network. The company confirmed that the testing in Dubai follows two years of flight trials at Edwards Air Force Base in the United States. With more than 40,000 miles of test flights and multiple piloted transitions, Joby Aviation aims to make fast, clean, and accessible air travel a reality.

In 2024, non-oil trade between the two nations surpassed AED56.1 billion, marking a 9.8% increase compared to 2023. He expressed confidence that further opportunities lie ahead to expand trade and boost tourism flows, especially given the rich and diverse offerings that both countries boast.
