Police investigations ongoing two months after County Durham stabbing
Investigations continue two months after a man was stabbed in a County Durham village. Three people have been arrested and two people rushed to hospital after the incident in Pelton, Chester-le-Street on May 24. It happened on Front Street at about 10.45pm near the Istanbul Pizza House. (Image: Daniel Hordon) (Image: Daniel Hordon) A 42-year-old man who sustained a stab wound while a 23-year-old man was also injured and rushed to hospital. As previously reported, a 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm and two men, aged 34 and 40, were arrested on suspicion of obstructing a police officer. Durham police are searching for a suspect who allegedly stabbed someone at the Pickering GO station on July 28. Durham police are searching for a suspect who allegedly stabbed someone at Pickering GO station early Monday morning. Police say just after midnight on July 28, an armed person approached a person in the parking lot of the GO station on Bayly Street, near Liverpool Road. That individual was walking to their car when they were stabbed, police said. The suspect fled northbound before officers arrived. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police describe the suspect as a white male who was last seen wearing a black sweater and red pants. Anyone with further information is asked to contact investigators at 1-888-579-1520, ext. 1905, or Crime Stoppers anonymously.

Coxhoe house fire arson attack 'mistaken identity', Durham Police say
A family of four escaped their home which was set on fire in a case of "mistaken identity", police have Police said arsonists targeted a detached house in Doulton Court, Coxhoe, on Saturday at about 00:30 BST while a couple and their two children said two suspects had poured accelerant over the family's white Mercedes and the front door of the force said the family had been able to escape uninjured and it was now appealing for witnesses. A police spokesperson said: "This was a completely reckless arson attack, which placed an innocent family with young children at risk."We do not believe that this was a random incident, but it appears that the wrong address has been targeted and a young family has been put at serious risk."The force said the blaze had been put out by the fire service on Saturday but "considerable damage" had been done to both the Mercedes and a second car parked on the drive, as well as the property's front door. Police search for arson attack suspects after County Durham house set alight
Police are searching for suspects after a house in County Durham was set alight in a suspected arson attack. Emergency services were called to a house in Eldon Lane, near Bishop Auckland, at around 12.30am on Wednesday, July 9, following reports of a property fire. Despite police confirming that the house was unoccupied, the suspects set fire to the front door and fled the scene of the incident. It's unknown at this time the extent of the damage to the house in Eldon Lane. Durham Police are treating the incident as arson and are trying to track down two men who were seen near the scene at the time of the incident. A spokesperson for the police force said: "Police are appealing for information following an arson in Eldon Lane. "Officers were called to the unoccupied address at 12.30am on Wednesday, July 9. Durham police arrest armed and barricaded suspect in Whitby

THE CANADIAN PRESS/Doug Ives Police have arrested a man in Whitby after he allegedly armed himself with a knife and barricaded himself inside a home over the weekend. Durham police say that on July 20 at around 7:30 p.m. officers arrived on scene to find a man holed up inside a residence in the vicinity of Chestnut and Perry streets. The suspect had been previously released on condition that he stay away from the homeowner and residence, police say. At the time of the incident, police say he was wanted on 'several other charges stemming from a previous unrelated incident.' Investigators say that the 27-year-old man did eventually leave the residence and was arrested. Police have not reported any injuries. Jordan Wheeler, of no fixed address, is charged with eight counts of failure to comply with probation orders.
