Texas A&M's top 2025 shortstop commit has withdrawn from the 2025 MLB Draft

The 2025 MLB Draft began on Sunday night. For Texas A&M, coach Michael Earley saw two starters come off the board in the first two rounds, as the Cleveland Guardians selected junior outfielder Jace LaViolette with the 27th overall pick, while junior pitcher Justin Lamkin went off the board in the second round with the 71st overall selection. This was not surprising given that both players were expected to be drafted during the first day. While LaViolette has been considered a top prospect for the last two years, Lamkin's performance this season shot him up every draft board, especially his no-hitter against Georgia. Both players could realistically return, but this is unlikely given their draft positioning. Losing two starters is never a good thing, but Earley received great news regarding the program's top 2025 commit, as elite shortstop Nico Partida has withdrawn from the MLB Draft and will play for the Aggies next season. This is significant, given the draft losses, as junior SS Kaeden Kent was selected 103rd overall by the New York Yankees. As Carter Karels states, Partida is the 144th-ranked prospect in this year's draft, the 18th-ranked shortstop, and the 40th-ranked prospect in the 2025 cycle. With Kent possibly signing with the Yankees, Earley added shortstops Chris Hacopian and Maddox Latta from the transfer portal. However, Partida is more than talented enough to see the field next season. Texas A&M baseball lands commitment from former Baylor left-handed pitcher

The Texas A&M baseball program added another impressive arm to its bullpen on Saturday night, as the Aggies landed the commitment from one of the Big 12 Conference's most promising stars. Head coach Michael Earley landed former Baylor left-handed pitcher Carson Bailey via the transfer portal, according to reports from TexAgs. As a freshman for the Bears in 2025, Bailey struck out 56 batters in 53.1 innings pitched with his impressive repertoire of pitches on the mound. Before signing with Baylor baseball in 2023, Bailey was a three-year letter winner at J.J. Pearce High School, as he led his team to back-to-back district titles in 2022 and 2023. In just eight starts as a sophomore in high school, he struck out 65 batters in 35 innings of work. After an injury sidelined him during his junior season, Bailey fired back by posting a 1.50 ERA and 88 strikeouts as a senior. After a full season with the Bears in Waco, Texas, the No. 43 lefty in the 2024 class announced his commitment to Earley and the Texas A&M baseball program, giving the Aggies some good late-night news this weekend. The offseason additions via the portal and high school recruiting continue to give the club momentum heading into next year's campaign. After a lackluster season in 2025, Texas A&M will hope to bounce back and silence any doubters by performing well and avoiding missing postseason play. If the program wants to change the current narratives, the first step to doing so is to build around the future of the program. With additions like Bailey to the bullpen, the future could be getting brighter if Earley can develop his young stars. Why Chris Hacopian chose Texas A&M - ‘I Want to Be the Best Baseball Player Possible'

Next season will be a make-or-break year for Texas A&M head baseball coach Michael Earley. Fans had mixed reactions when it was announced he would be retained, but expectations were high for several changes heading into the 2026 season. The first major move was the addition of Conference USA Assistant Coach of the Year, Cliff Pennington, who brings valuable experience to the staff, particularly on defense and the base paths. Another area of focus was the roster, as several players had already committed to staying under Earley. However, he still needed to address the loss of production and pitching depth. After a slow start in the transfer portal, Coach Earley received great news late Thursday night when one of the top players available, Chris Hacopian, committed to Texas A&M. The former Maryland infielder slashed .375/.502/.656 with 14 home runs and 61 RBIs, adding instant offense to the lineup. In a recent interview, Hacopian was asked why he chose A&M. His response: 'I want to become the best baseball player possible … and I think A&M and those guys over there are going to accomplish that.' Earley MP Yuan Yang praises school's money-saving solar panels

A school will have more money to spend on education thanks to government-funded solar panels, an MP has government announced in March that it was investing £180m installing solar panels in schools and hospitals across the first 11 schools have now had them put in - including Whiteknights Primary School in Reading, which is expected to save around £4,500 a year as a result."Overall that means less money spent on energy and heating bills [and] more money to for the school to actually spend on students' education," said MP for Earley and Woodley Yuan Yang. The Labour MP visited the school on Monday, alongside climate minister Kerry McCarthy. She said she spoke to schoolchildren about climate change and how it should be tackled. "They wanted to talk about all sorts of things, from saving energy to transport," she said."It's often the children who asked the most incitive questions about climate change and the future."Climate minister Kerry McCarthy said the fact schools could save money on their bills was proof that the transition to green power could directly benefit communitiesGreat British Energy is a new publicly owned company set up by the Labour Yang said the solar panels, which would continue generating electricity throughout the weekends and school holidays to be sold back to the national grid, were "a really key investment"."All of this together is part of a diverse energy mix and the more different sources of renewable generation then the more robust - the more secure - an energy system is," she said. ‘He's going to help take our team to the next level' Coach Earley speaks on new hiring

'He's going to help take our team to the next level' Coach Earley speaks on new hiring Texas A&M baseball had a disappointing season. While they showed signs of brilliance, they ultimately lacked the swagger and consistency needed to make a postseason run. After failing to reach the SEC Tournament championship, A&M was left out of the NCAA Tournament. However, they decided to retain coach Michael Earley, with the understanding that changes would be made. The first move was bringing in former Aggie All-American and Dallas Baptist assistant coach Cliff Pennington. This is a great first step for the A&M baseball program as they look to return to Omaha next season. Pennington is regarded as one of the best assistant coaches in the nation and excels in areas where the Aggies need greater attention to detail, base running and fielding. Coach Earley is excited to have Pennington on his staff and spoke about what he brings to the program: "We are thrilled to welcome Coach Pennington and his beautiful family back to Bryan-College Station, I wanted to find the best infield and base running coach in the nation and after many talks with Cliff, it was evident he was the guy and a perfect fit into our culture. He is a top-notch baseball coach and that is proven by his work. His values, character and determination are off the charts. He's going to help take our team to the next level and I couldn't be more excited to work beside him." While this is an elite move, more changes are still needed before fans will feel optimistic about the team heading into the 2026 season. Nevertheless, this is a strong step toward making the Aggies a contender once again.
